Those from United who call Telgar home.
Set just over four turns before Third Pass, where people
believe that Thread will never Fall again. Those who believe the Weyrs
are viewed skeptically and relations between Hold, Hall and Weyr are strained.
There's more than one thing to worry about though and the one foremost
in many minds is the Dragonkillers. They live
right up to their name. Killing off many a dragon, the Queens were
their main targets and they did a good job. The Weyrs knew the hold
folk didn't like them, but no one had expected such quick and brutal
attacks as came in the first days. Weyrs fell
to the turmoil, and all colours died.
Telgar has suffered as much as the other Weyrs at the hands of the
Dragonkillers. Since the first attacks there have been many more,
though often better guarded against. Direct raids, and more subtle
ones. 'Hit and
run' attacks on dragons and riders with knives and flamethrowers,
picking off of lone dragons that all now hunt and search in pairs. The more
sneaky poisionings, like that which killed Weyrwoman Parusa.
H'lif at one point closed the Weyr which allowed for the flushing out of traitors in their midst. It had to be 'opened' again as they needed candidates and what tithes were being given. A Weyr relise on the Holds, as soon the Holds shall rely on the Weyrs.
