UNITED SONG CONTEST

Dear USC members,

USC History is the creation of all the "old" USC contests during 1956-2005. The manager of a country can have his own country in USC History too, or he can have another country if it is free in USC History. It is a pararell line of contests that goes on at the same time as the ordinare editions of USC. Each year will be made during a 2 month period. The first month you select a song for that year and between the 1-15th of the second month you send in your votes. At the end of the second month the video show of that USC year is released.

For example:

2007
January 1-31: send a song for 1995
January 31: Deadline to send song (Deadline to send song is always the last in the first month)
February 1-15: Send your 1995 votes
February 15: Deadline to send 1995 votes (deadline to vote in USC History is always 15th)
February 28: 1995 video show is released

March 1-31: send a song for 2000
March 31: Deadline to send song (Deadline to send song is always the last in the first month)
April 1-15: Send your 2000 votes
April 15: Deadline to send 2000 votes (deadline to vote in USC History is always 15th)
April 30: 2000 video show is released

May 1-31: send a song for 1968
May 31: Deadline to send song (Deadline to send song is always the last in the first month)
June 1-15: Send your 1968 votes
June 15: Deadline to send 1968 votes (deadline to vote in USC History is always 15th)
June 30: 2000 video show is released

July/August: USC XXXX (to be revealed in may)
September/Oktober: USC XXXX
November/December: USC XXXX

and so on...

During the years 1956-2005 the United Song Contest had only one contest each year. First in 2006 UBU (United Broadcasting Union) decided to make 4 editions each year. The rules for each "USC history" will be explained in detail for each year. There are different voting systems for some years and the possibility for countries varies over the years due to political changes. In all "old" editions the artist must be from the competing country (some small countries might have special rules). In the more recent years it will also be ok if only the song-writer is from the participating country to have a song participating. Each year will have information to explain the special rules. The recording of the competing song must also be first released in the same year or in the year before to compete in "USC History". As usual No ESC songs can participate, Covers of all kind is ok as long as the recording are first released in the same year or in the year before.
  We will start making a live show also for USC History in order to make it more interesting and to raise the suspense. The first live show for USC History will be USC 1985.
