How to Make Your Web Site Drive Customers to Your Business Like Bees to Honey!

By Lee & Robin Collins, SoCo Solutions, LLC (www.socosolutions.com)

There are basically two ways to get your site “listed” on the search engines without having to wait weeks or months – and these are the keys to driving targeted, qualified visitors to your site. You want targeted, qualified visitors.
Pay-Per-Click Advertising
Advertising your services or products on the Internet is both extremely effective and extremely competitive.
There are several ways to go about attracting traffic to your website; Pay-Per-Click is one of the options you can choose from, along with developing an SEO, or search engine optimization campaign. Both pay-per-click and SEO are targeted to get your website placed as close to the top of search engine results as possible. One of the differences is that it takes minutes to set up a pay-per-click campaign versus months for a good SEO campaign.
Pay-Per-Click is a simple type of paid advertising that most search engines, including some of the largest ones, now offer. It requires a bid for a "per-click" basis, which translates to your company paying the bid amount every time the search engine directs a visitor to your site.
There is the added bonus that when a per-click site sends your website traffic, your site often appears in the results of other prevalent search engines.
As with all marketing campaigns, there are advantages and disadvantages. If you understand the process and monitor your pay-per-click campaign frequently, it can be very effective.
One of the greatest advantages is that you never have to tweak your web pages to change your position in search engine results, as you must do in a typical SEO campaign. What you do have to do in a pay-per-click campaign is pay a fee.
Another advantage is the simplicity of the pay-per-click process. You just bid and you're up and running. It doesn't demand any specific technical knowledge, though the more you know about search engines and keywords, the easier - and more effective - the process will be.
The downside is that pay-per-click is essentially a bidding war. A higher bid than yours will lower your position on search engine results. This means that you will have to raise your bid to regain your position - which can obviously become quite expensive, especially if you are bidding on a popular keyword.
In order to determine if pay-per-click is a cost effective form of marketing for your business, you must do some computing to figure out how much each visitor to your site is worth.
You can compute this value by dividing the profit you make on your website over a given period of time by the total number of visitors for that same time period.
For example, if your site made $5,000 in profits and there were 2,5000 hits, each visitor would be theoretically worth 50 cents. The basic formula is profits divided by visitors.
The figure of 50 cents per visitor is the point at which your business breaks even. The idea, of course, is to show a profit, not to merely cover your costs. Therefore, you are aiming at a figure less than 50 cents per click.
Be aware that the most popular keywords often cost considerably more than 50 cents a click. The only way around this is to bid less for these phrases or you will be paying too much for each individual hit.
The key (pun intended) to success is to learn everything you can about search engine keyword research.
The good news is there isn't a limit to the amount of keywords you can add to your bid because additional keywords do not add additional cost. This translates into a lot less hassle for you because there is no need to optimize your site to index a particular set of keywords.
Obviously, some keywords are much more effective than others are, but they will not cost you anything except time to set-up your account in your pay-per-click bid. Of the popular search engines that offer pay-per-click, one called Overture provides an online tool that will give you the data on how often particular keywords are entered into their search engine. They also offer suggestions for keywords after you enter a description of your site.
In pay-per-click, this written description is crucial. You must understand that the object of your description is not to generally attract visitors, but to be as specific as possible so that only those visitors who are likely to buy your service or product go to your site.
You must use expert marketing copy to guarantee that your description is both precise and enticing to attract the most ideal candidates to your site. This description is your most powerful tool to insure that your bid is profitable.
Another essential element of pay-per-click advertising is that you constantly monitor your bid. It is very important that you bear in mind that the results of the top search engines providing pay-per-click advertising, which are Overture and Adwords Select, usually appear on other popular search engines.
Because of this, the competition for top ranking is intense, and very often you will find that the bidding price balloons too high for pay-per-click to yield a profit.
If this happens, it is advisable to withdraw your bid on that particular keyword and try another one.
Remember: when you pay too much per click to make a profit, you are in essence losing the bidding war.
Since losing is not acceptable, you must have a plan in place to closely track the effectiveness of your keyword. It is advisable to monitor your keywords on at least a monthly basis.
Not only is careful monitoring important, but the analysis of visitor behavior can produce invaluable knowledge about consumer motivation, habits, and trends. Expert monitoring and consumer analysis is essential to your overall business needs, and will also insure that your pay-per-click campaign is a success.
Paid URL Inclusion
There are many ways to promote your website and one of the most efficient ways is to use search engines.
Search engines are the first stop for most people trying to find information, services, and products online. Because of this, it is essential that your website appears quickly in search results.
The Internet contains numerous search engines, some of which offer what is known as "paid inclusion."
This means that you pay the specific search engine an annual fee for your web page to be included in their index.
Of course, every search engine already has an automated program commonly called a "spider" that indexes all the web pages it locates online, and it does this for free. So whether you pay or not, your web page will eventually be indexed by all Internet search engines, as long as the spider can follow a link to your page.
The major issue is, then, how quickly your page is indexed.
A search engine that offers a paid URL inclusion uses an extra spider that is programmed to index the particular pages that have been paid for. The difference between the spider that indexes pages for free and the spider that indexes only pages for a fee is speed. If you have paid for inclusion, the additional search engine spider will index your page immediately.
The debate over paid URL inclusion centers around the annual fee. Since the regular spider of these search engines would eventually get around to indexing your web page anyway, why is a renewal fee necessary?
The fee is necessary to keep your pages in the search engine's index.
If you go the route of paid inclusion, you should be aware that at the end of the pay period, on some search engines, your page will be removed from their index for a certain amount of time.
It's easy to get confused about whether you would benefit from paid inclusion since the spider of any search engine will eventually index your page without the additional cost.
There are both advantages and disadvantages to paid URL inclusion, and it is only by weighing your pros and cons that you will be able to decide whether to spring for the extra cash or not.
The advantages are obvious: rapid inclusion and rapid re-indexing. Paid inclusion means that your pages will be indexed quickly and added to search results in a very short time after you have paid the fee.
The time difference between when the regular spider will index your pages and when the paid spider will is a matter of months. The spider for paid inclusion usually indexes your pages in a day or two. Be aware that if you have no incoming links to your pages, the regular spider will never locate them at all.
Additionally, paid inclusion spiders will go back to your pages often, sometimes even daily. The advantage of this is that you can update your pages constantly to improve the ranking in which they appear in search engines, and the paid URL inclusion spider will show that result in a matter of days.
First and foremost, the disadvantage is the cost. For a ten page website, the costs of paid URL inclusion range from $170 for Fast/Lycos to $600 for Altavista, and you have to pay each engine their annual fee.
How relevant the cost factor is will depend on your company.
Another, and perhaps more important, disadvantage is the limited reach of paid URL inclusions. The largest search engines, Google, Yahoo, and AOL, do not offer paid URL inclusion. That means that the search engines you choose to pay an inclusion fee will amount to a small fraction of the traffic to your site on a daily basis.
Google usually updates its index every month, and there is no way you can speed up this process. You will have to wait for the Google spider to index your new pages no matter how many other search engines you have paid to update their index daily. Be aware that it is only after Google updates their index that your pages will show up in Google, Yahoo, or AOL results.
One way to figure out whether paid URL inclusion is a good deal for your company is to consider some common factors.
First, find out if search engines have already indexed your pages. To do this, you may have to enter a number of different keywords, but the quickest way to find out is to enter your URL address in quotes.
If your pages appear when you enter the URL address but do not appear when you enter keywords, using paid inclusion will not be beneficial. This is because your pages have already been indexed and ranked by the regular spider. If this is the case, your money would be better spent by updating your pages to improve your ranking in search results.
Once you accomplish this, you can then consider using paid inclusion if you want to speed up the time it will take for the regular spider to revisit your pages.
The most important factor in deciding whether to use paid URL inclusion is to decide if it's a good investment. To figure this out, you have to look at the overall picture:
  • what kind of product or service are you selling and how
  • much traffic are you dependent on to see a profit?
If your company sells an inexpensive product that requires a large volume of traffic to your site, paid inclusion may not be the best investment for you; the biggest search engines do not offer it, and they are the engines that will bring you the majority of hits. On the other hand, if you have a business that offers an expensive service or product and requires a certain quality of traffic to your site, a paid URL inclusion is most likely an excellent investment.
Another factor is whether or not your pages are updated frequently. If the content changes on a daily or weekly basis, paid inclusion will insure that your new pages are indexed often and quickly. The new content is indexed by the paid spider and then appears when new relevant keywords are entered in the search engines. Using paid inclusion in this case will guarantee that your pages are being indexed in a timely manner.
You should also base your decision on whether or not your pages are dynamically generated. These types of pages are often difficult for regular spiders to locate and index.
Paying to include the most important pages of a dynamically generated website will insure that the paid spider will index them.
Sometimes a regular spider will drop pages from its search engine, although these pages usually reappear in a few months. There are a number of reasons why this can happen, but by using paid URL inclusion, you will avoid the possibility. Paid URL inclusion guarantees that your pages are indexed, and if they are inadvertently dropped, the search engine will be on the lookout to locate them immediately.
As you can see, there are numerous factors to consider when it comes to paid URL inclusion. It can be a valuable investment depending on your situation.
Evaluate your business needs and your website to determine if paid URL inclusion is a wise investment for your business goals.

Introduction
Dear Valued Subscriber,
Thank you for downloading this report on AdSense marketing.
The AdSense movement is gaining momentum every day. The driving force in the Google AdSense system is Googles AdWords ads. The AdSense program enables website owners to monetize their site and make additional income.
Although Google has made it simple and easy to implement AdSense on your website, you have to spend your time and effort to develop a central theme and the supporting content-rich web pages for your website.
As an example, the central keyword theme of your website might be fishing. Each associated web page that supports the central theme would a a single unique keyword theme like fishing lures, fishing rods, fishing reels and so forth.
Google use proprietary algorithms to determine the content theme on each page of your web site with an AdSense box. As a result, each web page, with an AdSense display box, must have interesting and informative content for your website visitor. Google will determine the keyword theme from the content and display AdWords ads in the AdSense box that are relevant to the web page keyword theme.
You are paid a portion of the fee paid by the advertiser to Google when a visitor clicks on an AdSense ad.
It is possible for a web site to make significant money with the AdSense program if they have a high-quality and focused web site with a lot of targeted traffic
The articles in this report cover all the significant areas of the AdSense program. I believe you will find the information in this report packed with valuable insights that you can use to start making money with the AdSense program.
AdSense profits are waiting for you,

The AdSense Factor
By: F. Terrence (Terry) Markle
Google describes AdSense as a fast and easy way for web site publishers of all sizes to display relevant Google ads on their web sites content pages and earn money. The AdSense ads displayed by Google on your site are matched to Googles interpretation of the content theme of your site. In this manner, the AdSense ads will be of interest to your site visitors looking for the unique content your site offers to them.
AdSense is a system where Google places its AdWords ads on the content pages of non-Google web sites. It is a pay-per-click (PPC) service where webmasters are paid a portion of the revenue collected by Google from the advertisers. The advertiser pays Google a pre-determined amount each time a web site visitor clicks on an AdSense advertisement.
AdWords is the Source of AdSense Income
AdWords ads are the source of all the AdSense income you are able to generate. As a result, you need to fully understand the AdWords system in order to appreciate how the AdSense system works.
Google describes AdWords as a quick and simple way to purchase highly targeted cost-per-click (CPC) advertising, regardless of your budget. These paid ads (sponsored links) are displayed by Google on the search engine results page along with the non-paid (natural results) for a given keyword search.
In order to create a Google AdWords ad, it is necessary to specify what keyword or keyword phrase must be input by the visitor before your AdWords ad will be displayed. In addition, you need to set the maximum amount that you will pay to Google for each click on your AdWord.
There is a nominal activation fee but Google does not have a minimum monthly charge. Google provides an account Control Center that allows you to track the performance of your ad. The ad will be displayed within minutes to the searchers after your account billing information has been submitted to Google.
AdWords ads must adhere to specific Google requirements. The title can contain up to 25 characters, the ad text can have up to 70 characters and the display URL must be less than 36 characters.
AdWords Ranking
Google will rank an AdWords ad based on the maximum CPC, the click through rate (CTR) and the relevancy of the ad text. Google prefers relevant and well-targeted AdWords ads. Google determines ad placement using the value formula: CPC x CTR. The ad is placed higher as the valuation rises. Its possible for an advertiser to have a high rank position with a low CPC if the CTR makes the value to Google higher than other ads with a higher CPC.
Google requires a minimum CTR in order to protect the AdWords program value for its users. The CTR of all AdWords ads are monitored by Google on a continuous basis. An under-performing AdWords ad may be disabled by Google if the CTR does not improve.
AdSense Program
You need to apply and be accepted by Google before you can display the AdSense ads on your web site. They are very particular about the sites that are eligible and accepted. Googles name is on the ads and they cannot risk hurting the perceived value of the AdSense and AdWords programs.
Google requires you to comply with their program policies if your website is accepted into the AdSense program. Otherwise, your website may be dropped from the program.
Your site must be content-focused to be accepted. Google wants sites that offer high quality information or rich in relevant content. You should have lots of interesting and informative content for your site visitors.
As previously mentioned, AdSense is a program in which you get paid for your web site visitors clicking on targeted AdWords ads placed on your site. A click through is when a visitor clicks on one of the ads. The ads are placed in a display box that you put on your website in a location that earns you money.
You have a chance to make a significant amount of money if the AdSense box is placed in a strategic location on your site and you have sufficient targeted traffic.
The AdWords advertiser pays as little as $0.05 per click up to $100 per click depending on the unique keywords. The AdWords campaigns are usually budgeted for a specific period of time by the advertisers.
Contextual Advertising
Google uses proprietary algorithms to determine the content on each page of your web site with an AdSense box. It will identify the AdWords ads that are contextually relevant to your website visitors based on the content of your site. The identified AdWords ads are then displayed in your AdSense box. The ads on your site are the same ads that appear on the right side of a Google search results page for a specific keyword.
Contextual advertising is the process of displaying ads on a web site that are targeted to the individuals visiting the specific web site. The Google contextual advertising system scans the content text on your web site for keywords on each web page with the AdSense box. Google will display ads on each web page based on what it believes is the keyword theme for that specific page.
For example, if Google determines that the theme of a specific web site is about fishing then fishing-related AdWords ads will be displayed in the AdSense box. The ads about fishing are an approximate fit to the context or subject of the web page as determined by Google.
Monetize Your Content Rich Website
Every webmaster with high-quality and focused web page content can monetize their knowledge and expertise by using AdSense. You need interesting and informative content on your site in order to bring free and targeted traffic to your web site and capitalize on the AdSense model.
You can generate revenue on your AdSense website on a consistent basis if your web site has a focused theme with targeted traffic. Its a good idea to have multiple pages with rich content on various topics that are centered around the specific theme of your website. Google can then target relevant ads to display on each web page that contains the AdSense box.
Google performs all the technological work for you to use the AdSense program. After your web site is accepted into the AdSense program, you obtain the HTML code to insert into your web pages from Google. The code will incorporate whatever specific customization you choose for the AdSense box.
It does not take very long before relevant ads appear on your web pages. If the ads are not relevant then you need to modify your content and keywords to help Google isolate the theme of your site. This will involve trial and error.
AdSense Factor
The items needed (I call it the AdSense Factor) to make substantial money using the AdSense program include:

  1. •A website with multiple web pages with a central content theme that draws significant targeted traffic.

  2. •Relevant ads with high click values that are relevant to the theme on each web page.

  3. •A high click through rate by your website visitors.
Website Central Theme
Your website should be based on a specific theme. This is where brainstorming comes into play. You need to spend ample time determining what the theme of your site should be. Generate a list of all your skills, capabilities and areas of interest as you would in developing a niche market.
Select one or more of the niches and identify a keyword phrase to be the central theme of your web site. Identify the wants and needs of individuals in that niche that desire information to be satisfied or produce a solution to a problem. In your brainstorming session, identify all the keywords you can that relate to the central theme.
As an example, assume your central keyword theme is fishing. Potential supporting keywords could include (depending on the direction you take): fishing rods, lures, tackle, bait, gear, reels, boats and a long list of related items. You then need to develop a separate web page for every keyword item that you use to support the central theme.
Keyword Page Content
Each keyword page needs to have quality content that would be of interest and informative to your prospective visitors looking for information. You can develop the content yourself, use existing free information or pay someone to develop the content for you.
As a starter, you should attempt to generate the content yourself. Research each topic keyword and write articles of 200 to 600 words. The articles should be informative and rich in keywords for each web page with an AdSense box. Remember that more is better. The more content-related pages you have then the more AdSense ads you will be able to display and hopefully the more money you will make.
If you believe that you absolutely cannot write articles for whatever reason then look for existing free articles on your web page topic(s). You can also hire a freelance or ghostwriter at very reasonable rates to write articles for you. The choice is yours on how you proceed to get content for your web pages.
When you write your own articles, try to write your articles as if you were talking to someone. Plan on inserting the keyword or keyword phrase in as many places that make sense. The keyword density should be in the 5 to 10% range. This means that the keyword should be included about once every 10 to 20 words in the article. In order to help Google determine the theme for each of your web pages with the AdSense box: use headings and subheadings, use "h1" through "h5" tags where appropriate to add attention and make all keywords bold "b" text in your articles.
Conclusion
You need to consider implementing AdSense on your site if you want to make money from advertising. Google has made it relatively easy and clear to monetize your website through the use of AdSense. The steps involved in the process are:

  1. •First develop a central keyword theme for your website that contains informative and quality information desired by your targeted visitors.

  2. •Second develop multiple content rich web pages with individual keyword themes that are focused around your central keyword theme.

  3. •Third - apply and get accepted into the Google AdSense program.

  1. •Fourth - install the AdSense ads box on each content web page with a defined keyword theme.

  2. •Fifth - drive targeted traffic to your website where a percentage of your visitors looking for your informative and quality information will click on the AdSense ads.

  3. •Sixth - collect and enjoy the money paid to you by Google for the clicks on each ad you presented to your visitors.

Keep the AdSense Factor in mind when developing your web pages and your visitors will have a high interest in your content. This will lead to your visitors clicking on the AdSense ads and putting money into your pocket.

Understanding Google AdSense
By: S. Housley
Google AdSense allows webmasters to dynamically serve content relevant advertisements on web pages. If the visitor clicks one of the AdSense ads served to the website, the website owner is credited for the referral. Google's AdSense program essentially allows approved websites to dynamically serve Google's pay-per-click AdWord results.
Website maintenance related to AdSense is very easy and requires very little effort. Webmasters need only to insert a Google generated java script into the web page or website template. Google's spider parses the AdServing website and serves ads that relate to the website's content. Google uses a combination of keyword matching and context analysis to determine what ads should be served. The java script calls the ad from Google and will ensure that ads are served each time a visitor goes to the web page.
Early on Google implemented a filtering system that allowed webmasters to prevent a specific domain's ads from being served on any websites in their account. Ad blocking meant that webmasters could prevent their competitor's ads from being dynamically served on their websites.
Google provides a wide variety of ad formats to match the most suitable option with a website. Webmasters can select from a handful of preformatted towers, inline rectangles, banners and buttons. The ad boxes can be modified by webmasters to resemble the website's color scheme. Examples of how different the various text boxes and color schemes appear on similarly themed sites can be viewed at:

  1. •www.ring-tone-software.com (scroll to the bottom)

  1. •www.ringtones-central.com (scroll to the bottom)

  2. •or

  3. •www.police-central.com (download left side)

  1. •www.police-supplies.com (scroll to the bottom)

Ads can be geo-targeted based on the visitor's location. Advertisements containing content in English, French, German, Italian, Dutch, Portuguese, Japanese, or Spanish are all available.
Channels
Google recently introduced channels, enhancing AdSense reporting. When a channel is selected Google modifies the java script to include additional tracking. The additional tracking information allows webmasters to track a variety of metrics across their sites. Channels can be used to measure performance on various domains, differences in revenue with various ad sizes, or placement. By assigning each group of pages to a specific channel and comparing results in custom channel reports webmasters can work at increasing their AdSense revenue.
Optimizing
Google determines the content of the ads that are shown, webmasters serious about earning revenue from Google AdSense can use the following guidelines to optimize their website and ensure that targeted and relevant ads are served. If Google's spider has not crawled the site and determined the nature of the content, public service ads may be served. Public service ads will not accrue any AdSense revenue if clicked. As a result Google allows webmasters to designate alternate ads. Alternate ads allow webmasters to utilize the ad space in the event that Google is unable to serve targeted ads to the web page. By specifying an alternate image, HTML page, or ad server the advertising space can always being used effectively.

  1. 1. Web page content on pages that ads are served should be static not dynamic.

  2. 2. Ensure that the robot.txt does not prevent the web page from being spidered. Robots.txt file's will need to be removed or the following text will need to bedded to allow Google's content bot to crawl the site: User-agent: Media partners - Google

  3. 3. If the website contains frames, select the framed page checkbox when generating the ad layout code for that website.

  4. 4. The body of the page and title of the page should contain contextual words that indicate a common theme on the web page.

Revenue Earned
Although Google doesn't disclose the exact revenue share or percentage that webmasters will earn, webmasters will receive a portion of the amount paid for clicks on Google ads on websites.
AdSense Conclusion:
Overall, Google AdWords can provide great supplemental income to webmasters with content sites. Implementing and maintaining Google AdSense program on a content site requires very little effort and can often bring a steady stream of additional revenue for webmasters.

Google AdWords and AdSense - A Dynamic
Small Business Marketing Duo
By: John Jantsch
Unless you have been living under a rock for the last year or so, you probably know that Google has become the king of the search engine hill. There are many reasons for this but number one in my opinion is that above all else they put value on content. Today I want to introduce you to two very powerful small business advertising options created by Google.
These two ingenious programs have all but revolutionized the way advertising is done on the web. Warning: If you are thinking..."web advertising isn't for me, I just need a few more clients around the block"...you better read this or be prepared to have your competitors eat your lunch.
Goolge AdSense - Again content is king at Google. This program allows web site "publishers" to add some code from Google and receive "content relevant" ads on their site from other site owners. Here is an example - those ads in the box on the right of the page are delivered by Google and are matched to the content on the page. When someone surfs to the page and decides to check out one of those ads, the web site owner earns a portion of the advertising revenue that Google collects.
The key here is that if you go to a site about quilting, you will see ads about quilting and not about dog grooming. I know this sounds so obvious but Google was the first to really figure this out.
This program has worked so well that some website owners are actually building content specific sites and paying for them solely through AdSense revenue. Small business owners should consider adding this feature to pages on their site for several reasons.
I've already mentioned the fact that there is money to be made, but what many site owners are finding is that because Google is so respected and because the ads are highly targeted...they are no longer looked at by surfers as ads, they are looked at as content.
Some will even go as far as to say that by putting the Google ads on your site you actually better your chances of higher rankings with Google. Google flatly denies this claim and I don't think it is true but I do know that Google AdSense ads should be on every small business owner's site. (Google AdSense)
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
Another Warning: This is somewhat complex stuff. This article is only meant to introduce you to the power of these programs. Check out Google Cash by Chris Carpenter for a deeper understanding of ways to make this work for you.
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
Google AdWords - I've already talked about those ads you see on websites, well those ads need to come from somewhere don't they. AdWords is Google's program for advertisers.
Any site that wishes to participate bids for "keywords" that are relevant to their product, service, or site and then creates ads to attract hits. These ads show up on private websites, like this example, and on the right side of Google search results like this search for "Free sales letters and tools" As you can see from this Google search you received the content related sites that you searched for but you also get some related ads that are sponsored.
Now here is where Google is genius. Instead of simply subjecting surfers to any ads that anyone is willing to pay for, they actually police the ads that are running. On some pay per click programs, whoever is willing to pay to most wins. Google uses a performance model. In other words an ad that is the most relevant and therefore receives the most clicks will move ahead of an ad that may pay more but isn't as effective. This simple philosophy is why Google has quickly dominated the PPC world.
Okay...and now the really big innovation
Regional targeting. Google recently introduced a system that allows advertisers to target certain metropolitan markets only. In other words, a remodeling contractor who only wants to do kitchen remodels in say, Denver, can bid on the keyword phrase "kitchen remodel" and only have his ads show up for people who live in and around Denver.
The implication this has for local small business owners is staggering. In the example above, our Remodeler can now tap into highly targeted web traffic for pennies per lead. In my opinion, small business owner who learn the ins and outs of this medium will dominate their markets. (Google AdWords)

Getting Approved by Adsense in a Jiffy…
By: Anik Singal
I dont understand why everyone makes Adsense out to sound like some kind of devil. So far, I have a 100% approval rate for my consulting clients. You would think that we spend months developing the site to submit for approval but to be honest; I spend less than a day (if that!)
What we found is that Google is not nearly as picky as they make themselves sound to be. The trick is to make your site in such a way that you are just providing content; we have found that the less selling you do on your approval site, the better.
Dont worry, once youre approved you can use that code wherever you want so put it on other sites that sell later. But for the purposes of getting approved, try to limit to just content, content and more content!
Now, for the disclaimer before we start talking about how to get your site approved for Google Adsense. I am not a member of Google at all, everything I am about to say is all speculation and experience. I have helped over 50 clients get approved for Google Adsense without having even 1 of them not get approved we have 100% approval rate on FIRST try.
All I am going to teach you is exactly what I do for them.
There are three main elements that I focus on when getting a client approved:

  1. 1. Site look and feel Not that Google wants a $10,000 professionally designed website, but they also dont want some piece of junk. Make sure to at LEAST have a presentable website even if it is just a few tables and a solid background color. Avoid using tacky backgrounds or unprofessional color contrasts.

  2. 2. Content The most important Google believes in content. If you try to get a website with just a few pages approved, I dont think you will have any luck. You need to have at least 15-20 pages, preferably, 15-20 pages of articles/resources, a.k.a. content.

  3. 3. Traffic Many experts say that Google looks to see what kind of traffic you have and that they do not approve new sites with no traffic. My experience says that these experts are FULL of it. BUT, just to be safe, before you submit your site for approval try to get your site some traffic.

Here are useful tips you need to make the entire approval process easier and quicker:

  1. •Get content from article directories like www.goarticles.com just put those articles in your site, getting 15-20 is easy.

  1. •Before you submit your site for approval, post at some forums with your websites link in the signature file this will help you get some immediate traffic.

  2. •Make a very simple website with 15-20 articles, a contact us page, a privacy policy and the typical disclaimer.

Thats it youre ready to get approved for Google Adsense. I know I made it sound too easy, but honestly, we have a track record that proves it. And remember, if you do not get approved, you can always fix things and try again.
So, stop waiting apply now Google Adsense is a great source of income.

Making Google Adsense Work For You
By: Erol Alici
If you have been online for quiet some time you might have noticed those tiny ads on many websites with the little "ads by google" notice beneath them.
These ads are called "Adsense", they are paid advertisements and can be a very lucrative income source for the person posting them on his/her website.
Whenever someone visits your website Google displays these ads which are very targeted to your websites content. This is what its all about, since people come to your website with a specific interest Google will display ads reflecting that topic.
That means that any ad that is displayed fits the interest of the person viewing it. Since Google pays you for each click through this can be very lucrative if done right. Here are just a couple of examples on how you can get the most from Adsense.
Focussing on one specific topic helps increase your click throughs because the ads Google displays will be extremely targeted to the topic the person is allready viewing.
For example you could make a website purely on growing flowers. People who visit your website are already interested in gardening and Google will likewise display ads on that topic.
A great tool to check wich keywords might be shown by Google on your website is www.about-adsense.com/adsense-web-tool.html.
The more targeted Google's ads are the more click throughs you will get and the more you will earn.
Search for the keywords that have the highest bids and optimize your website to them.
When you setup an account at www.adwords.com you can use Googles keyword tool to view wich keywords pull the most visitors and how much the advertisers are paying for each click. Some keywords are as much as $100 a click, think of what you earn when you optimize your website to them.
Next you optimize your sites content to these keywords, you can do this by either creating content yourself or by using other peoples content like for example articles from third parties wich you can find at for example www.ezinearticles.com.
Remember its all about targeted content, the more targeted your content is the more target Google's ads will be and the more clicks you will generate.
Have fun!

The makers of the world renowned search engine, Google, have taken things a step further to increase their user loyalty, grow their user base and at the same time reward websites for helping them promote their search engine. What a beautiful deal.
Google now offers WebSearch™allowing AdSense members to take the earning potential of their sites to an even higher level. Is it all about the money? For most I bet the answer will be YES, however, those who would say no can say so with confidence.
Google delivers the best search results on the web today. Dont be surprised if the majority of your website users use it to search the web. They pride themselves on highly relevant search results with a clean and effective interface. They offer various filters to fine tune their results to allowing you to eliminate any unwanted sites from being displayed.
They have started a highly successful symbiotic relationship between Google and websites that many webmasters will be taking advantage of as soon as they hear the news. It is said time and time again how Google AdSense has transformed websites not geared towards earning income, into solid income producing businesses. Now with WebSearch™it gets even better.
So what exactly is WebSearch™
Its using Googles SiteSearch or Googles Web Search and displaying AdSense ads in the results and you earn income every time someone clicks on the ads. Lots of sites already use these features together or independently and them being able to monetize this is a sure plus. You are also able to customize your results page to some extent which includes full color customization as well as the ability to include your logo.
So how do I get it?
Well if you havent already done so you will need to create and AdSense account at Google AdSense and follow the steps.
If you already have an AdSense account then log in and click on Search Settings and you should be able to figure it out from there. They also offer reporting information which can also be filtered by channel and includes clicks, the number of queries and clickthrough rate.
The verdict
If you answer yes to any of the following questions then theres a good chance that Googles WebSearch is for you:
1. Do you want to give your users a reason to stay on your site longer?
2. Have you ever wanted to offer web search from your site?
3. Do you want to be able to offer a site search feature to your users?
And last but not least
4. Do you want to increase the earning potential of your website? More popularly stated as… Do you want to make more money?
Im not a betting man but Id put my money on you answering yes to at least one of these.
Happy Google WebSearch™ng :-)

6 Steps To Adsense Domination
By: Keith Baxter
When you make your living online, you realize the need for multiple streams of income.
One of the easiest and most lucrative ways to generate a secondary income, which also happens to be passive, is via Googles Adsense program.
Im sure youve read the claims of a few individuals generating five figure monthly incomes from Adsense. For many of you, Im sure you are wondering why you arent making this same income yourself.
Well, wonder no more. If you follow my simple six step system, you will be well on your way to healthy Adsense profits within three months.
Are you ready? Its now time to pay attention.
Step 1 Preparation.
The key to making money with Adsense is all about numbers. BIG numbers!
Sure, there are a few people making serious money with less than ten sites, but these are the exception.
Your goal will be twenty-four sites in three months. Thats just TWO sites per week!
In order to accomplish this, I recommend one of the many available page generation tools available today.
Step 2 Determine Your Markets.
In order to maximize Adsense income with only twenty-four sites, you must know which markets are paying well.
To break this down even further, you need to know which keywords within those markets are paying the most.
Step 3 Register you domains.
Once youve identified and chosen your markets, you must register domains appropriate to those markets. For example, if your market is Cabbage Patch Dolls, a domain such as http://www.cabbage-patch-doll.com/ would be appropriate.
Step 4 Create your site.
Using your favorite page generation software and keyword list, its time to develop your site. There are several key points to bear in mind when you develop these specifically for Adsense.

  1. 1. Format Always use the large 336x280 large rectangle.

  2. 2. Border Match the same color as your background.

  3. 3. Background color - Border Match the same color as your background.

  4. 4. Link = "0000CC"

  5. 5. Color_url = "999999"

  6. 6. Color_text = "333333"

  7. 7. Position Far left or center and just above the page fold (Top 25% of site)

Step 5 Verify and track your site
Visit your site and make sure all links work and that the sites appear to your satisfaction. You should also check out the ads Google is displaying. Are they targeted to your primary high paying keyword? If not, recreate your site using your high paying keyword in a higher density throughout your site.
Make sure you track your Adsense format, position, and traffic with a tracking system specifically designed for Adsense. Once you know your stats, you can adjust for maximum clickthroughs and higher revenues.
Step 6 Get your site listed in the search engines.
This is simple… no tricks involved. Simply rent links to your site. A PR7 or PR8 link will do the job.
While Ive simplified the process here, you are now armed with enough information and resources to make some serious money with Adsense.

Using Google AdWords to Increase your Adsense Profits
By: John Gall
I had been using Google's Adsense program to generate some revenue from my various web sites. Prior to Adsense, I was never previously paid to run these and did so for a hobby. Overall I was pleased with the income I was generating. The only drawback was that I was always looking for ways to get people to my sites. I enjoyed working to bring in more visitors but felt that if I looked at my earnings vs. the hours I worked, the economics weren't making sense.
Then I figured out that certain sites were paying way more than the minimum .05 cents per click. I reasoned that if I could get pay visitors .05 - .10 to visit. Then if they clicked enough ads that paid much more than I paid, then Adwords could be a viable way to increase traffic to my sites.
So I paid my $5.00 setup fee and added my two most profitable sites. That same day my traffic jumped dramatically and as I thought. Visitors who came in via Adwords were more likely to click other Google ads on my site. My conversions went up and I thought why not put all my sites on Adwords.
This was where some careful research was needed. I found that some sites I run had adwords sponsors who were only bidding the minimum. Remember the concept was to under bid the advertisers on my sites. While my traffic skyrocketed, my expenses for a few sites seemed to outweigh any benefit. When my reports came in it was clear that I needed to use Adwords for only the sites that featured high bidding advertisers. This creates margin for those visitors who come in via paid ads but do not click to my own sponsored ads.
The exception would be if my site was offering a product or service. Then it would be well worth sticking with Adwords on those sites just to get more buying traffic. Because my sites are purely informational I had to watch carefully to ensure I was putting money into Adwords where it was working for me. In some cases I upped my bid on some keywords that were clearly bringing in steady traffic that converted well.
Google's new offering called Websense may change this a bit. By allowing you to put Google's search form on your site and then paying if your visitors search off your site and click other sponsored links it may make those under performing sites profitable again. Time and further research will tell.
The moral of the story is that Adwords is a great way to dramatically increase your profits when using Adsense. Care needs to be taken to see that you are putting your money where it is most effective.

Relevant Ads Increase Adsense Profits
By: Bas de Baar
If youve started using Adsense as a way to increase advertising income, but the numbers just arent adding up to what you expected, the problem might be with the ads themselves. If the ads being generated by Googles Adsense arent relevant to your website, visitors wont click on them. And, no click-y, no money. Its that simple. And its a simple situation to fix.
One way to know if the ads are working is to monitor the click-through-rate (CTR) on a page. If its low, its usually an indication that once a visitor arrived at your page using a certain keyword, that visitor did not find any ads relevant to that keyword. And unfortunately for you, the visitor found no reason to click on the ads.
How do I know this? It happened on my website. On one of my sites, I had a page dedicated to PHP programming (a programming language). The page had a low CTR. Upon further examination of the page, I noticed that not one of the ads was related to programming or even to technology.
What I did notice was that the ads were related to guitars. Guitars? I thought to myself, What relevance do guitars have to PHP programming? And I imagined visitors to my site wondered this as well.
After studying the ads, I noticed that one word seemed to keep jumping out at me. The word was strings as in guitar strings. Well strings are used in programming too, but Google was not able to make this distinction which is why it was generating guitar ads!
The solution to this problem was simple. I removed from my webpage the words string and strings (or I just used another word in place of string or strings). After Google found this page again and updated its view of it, the guitar ads were replaced with relevant ads. And best of all? CTR on this page immediately increased and so did my advertising income!
If you have a page with a low CTR, you may need to tweak your text so Adsense generates ads that are more relevant to the page. When making these types of changes to your webpages, use the same ideas you use for search engine optimization. Why?
Because Google uses the same logic to determine the appropriate Adsense ads to display on your page as it does to determine if your article should rank high for blue widgets.
Some areas on your page that might need a bit of text tweaking include:

  1. •The title of the page

  2. •The H1-tags used in the page

  3. •The number of occurrences of the keywords in the text of the article

  4. •Changing the filename (this can be very effective, but only do this for new pages that are not yet in the search engines or you risk losing traffic)

One word of advice: Dont forget that your keywords determine your search engine rankings so take small steps when changing keywords.
And remember, the only ads that will bring you the extra Adsense income youre looking for are relevant ads!

Optimize Site Navigation For Higher Adsense Earnings
By: Bas de Baar
A lot of webmasters that use Adsense as a source of income, are going after the so called high paying keywords. There are methods to determine this, you can even buy lists that hand them over to you. However, after they have put up there high paying pages there is no sound of the expected cash.
Having those pages is one thing... Driving visitors towards them, is another. The easiest, and most obvious way to funnel people to your high paying keyword pages, is by optimizing your site navigation for this purpose.
When people visit your website, they dont always view just one page. They also get from their entry page to another page that they might find interesting. They find this page by links that are provided to them on their page of entry. How you help people to get around on your site is what is meant by Site Navigation.
A typical website has a menu on each page; a menu that gets them from one section to another on your site. What decides them to click on a link to another section is the words used to indicate the link. Free Resources or Download ebooks might get their attention.
In respect to your Adsense earnings, you should track your site navigation to drive people to your high paying pages. I have some pages that get a lot of traffic from search engines, but the earnings on these pages are very low. So I use some clever navigation on these pages to lure people to some higher earning pages. By using this technique you can turn some cheap clicks into dollars.
How to start the testing?
First of all, you must have something to track, something to compare. Second, you must select some high earning pages you want to funnel your traffic to.
To get the fastest results, you should select some of your highly visited pages.
Then you have to think about what might convince people on a particular page to move to a high earning page. Try to find some description that would get their attention. Next step is to think about a suited location to place the link on the webpage.
Within the article itself, on the bottom as recommended resources, just above the main menu... Get creative and, especially, look around at other site to see how they do it (e.g. Hot Pages list, or Most read articles are very common).
You dont have to stick with plain text links. You can also use some graphic to get peoples attention. Look around, and get ideas.
As with the testing of Adsense ads, try different texts on different pages, so you can get a feeling of what works and what not. Mix and match, put links on top, put them on the bottom.
And after that, its just testing, tracking, testing and tracking again.

Making Your Web Site Pay With Adsense
By: SteveNichols
Did you know that you could turn the tables on Google and actually use its search engine to generate money?
Google Adsense pays you money in exchange for being allowed to publish paid-for ads on your web site. The clever thing is that the ads are related to what your users are looking for on your site. If used correctly they can both enhance your site and make you money.
So how does it work? Google provides you with its AdSense HTML code, which you place on your web pages. Then, Google automatically reads your pages and decides on the best ads to display.
It uses a sophisticated algorithm that includes such factors as keyword analysis, word frequency, font size, and the overall link structure of the web. It says it knows what a page is about and can precisely match Google ads to each page.
AdSense also uses geo-targeting to serve Google ads to your pages that are specific to a user's region and language, based on their IP address. This means that the ads that are served to a user from Australia may be different than those that appear for a user from Canada.
If a visitor clicks on one of the ads they get taken to the advertisers web page and you get paid cash easy!
Well, not quite. First you must have a site with plenty of visitors, otherwise it isnt worth the effort. Secondly, your page must be set up in such a way that Google stands a chance of working out what you are trying to promote or sell. In essence, you need to look at your page title, headings and initial copy to make sure that Google matches the right ads to your page.
For example, on my page devoted to digital photography courses, I dont want to advertise rival courses. So what I do is ensure that the first words on the page are digital cameras, not digital camera courses. That away, Google shows ads for companies selling cameras, not training courses.
Dont expect to earn a fortune. Google is a bit cagey about its ad rates, but you typically earn a few cents per click. Advertisements for casino or other gambling sites could make you up to a dollar or more for each click though.
On the downside, the very nature of Google Adsense means that users navigate away from your site, which may not be in your best interests.
If you want to see Google Adsense in action go to www.infotechcomms.net/courses1.htm or www.greatshortbreaks.com.
Both these pages have been carefully optimised to throw up the ads that I want.
Another word of warning, if Google cant work out what to display it will serve up ads for charities. It will also do this for the first few minutes after putting a page live.
In two months of using Google Adsense on a few of my sites I have made a few hundred dollars. But other canny users, who have specifically targeted high value clicks by setting up portal sites with lots of traffic have made thousands upon thousands of dollars!

FAQs
Q. So with Google Adsense can I really make any web site generate money?
A. Possibly. If you have a high traffic site with a particular theme you should be able to make it pay its way. The trick is in getting the traffic in the first place.
Q. What type of sites work well?
A. Nich้sites really. It is still fairly easy to get high search engine listings for way-out or nich้search terms. Getting a high rating for the word vacations is near impossible nowadays if starting from scratch, but something like Anguilla beach hotels just might be possible.
Q. Anguilla beach hotels youre kidding me?
A. No, actually. www.anguilla-beaches.com is one of the most visited sites on the net and has generated a lot of income for its owner with Google Adsense and other techniques. Oh, by the way, Nori Evoy, a 14 year-old teenager, runs the site, although she did have a little help from her dad Ken, a well-known internet marketer and the creator of the excellent SiteBuildit see http://buildit.sitesell.com/newsdata.html
Q. So how hard is it to put ads on my site?
A. If you can handle a little bit of HTML coding you shouldnt have a problem. You can colour coordinate the ads to suit your pages too.
Q. Can I change the way the ads look?
A. You can choose from multiple ad layouts, designed to suit a wide variety of page designs.
Q. How will I know what pages produce the most revenue?
A. You can code each page differently so that you can tell which channels are producing what revenue.
Q. How do I get paid?
A. Google will send you a cheque approximately 30 days after the end of each calendar month if your earned balance is US $100 or more.
Q. Great! How do I start?
A. Get over to www.google.com/adsense and see if your site is eligible. Once signed up it is a simple task to add the necessary code to each page.

The One Simple Trick That Can Double Your Adsense Revenue
By: Brad Bahr
I've been working with Google's Adsense program for a while now. If you're not already in the program, why not take a look at it now at www.google.com/adsense. I really like Adsense. It makes me money and it's easy to work with. Just some simple copy & paste into your webpage and you're done. Right?
Wrong! You can do it that way if you want. Who knows? Maybe you'll get lucky and get a lot of clicks. But if you're really serious about making a lot of money with the program, you're going to have to tweak it a little.
I've invested quite a bit of time experimenting with the program. When I first signed up, I got some clicks and made a tiny bit of money. That wasn't good enough. I knew there must be a way to get more of my visitors to click on the ads.
Google has a strict policy about not pointing to the ads in any way or asking people to click on them, so there were two things I couldn't do. What else was there?
Then I remembered reading an article once that discussed the psychological impact of colors on the human mind. I started researching everything I could find on the subject.
After a lot of reading, many tests and periods of watching my clicks go up and down, I found the one color combination that seemed to work the best.
Testing previously done at supermarkets had revealed that the same product could pull more sales from just changing the colors of the label. What were these colors? Red and yellow! The combination of these two colors has an immediate impact on the person who sees them. They make your eyes stop and focus. They pull your eyes right to that part of the page. They grab your attention! I'm not sure exactly why the combination of red and yellow does this, but it does. On one of my sites, I changed my Adsense ads to a bright red border and a yellow background with black text and URL.
My click through rate more than doubled with just that one simple change. That's what worked on my site. Your site's color scheme may work better with a slightly different color combination. Try lots of different color variations. Make a change in the morning and let it ride for the whole day. The next morning, try a different set of colors. Change the border, background, text. Change everything you can. Most importantly, keep detailed records of the color scheme you used, click ratio and revenue generated.
After you've done all the experimenting you want to, go back to the most profitable one and let it run for a week or so and see how it does. I'm always trying different colors even after my run of good clicks with red and yellow. There are a lot of color combinations to choose from. You never know when you'll find just the right one.

5 Ways How You Can Boost Your Google AdSense Earnings
By: Mohd Fairuz
Google AdSense is a great way for webmasters to monetize their websites. While many webmasters are struggling hard to earn $3 - $10 per day, some 'genius' webmasters have already enjoyed $30, $100, and even $300 a day from AdSense ads on their websites. How are these 'genius' webmasters differ from their counterparts? They think different! They think out of the box!
Let me share with you some tips which has been responsible in boosting my AdSense profits by 700%. Here are 5 of them, and if you follow these steps, I'm sure you'll see a difference in your AdSense income.
Here are the tips:

  1. 1. I concentrate on 1 format of AdSense ad, which is the Large Rectangle (336x280). This format has been proven to work with me in resulting high click-through rates (CTR). Why this format? Because the ads look like normal web links, and people are trained to click on these types of links.

  2. 2. I create custom palette for my ads. I choose white as the color for the border and background. This is because, all of my pages have white background. The idea is to make the AdSense ads look like they are a part of my web pages.

  3. 3. Previously, I put all my AdSense ads at the bottom of my pages. One day, I moved those ads to the top of the page. The result surprised me. My earning increased! Since then, I don't hide my AdSense ads anymore!

  4. 4. I maintain some links to other relevant websites, and I put my AdSense ads at the top of the links, so that my visitors see them first.

  5. 5. I automate the insertion of AdSense code into my webpages using SSI (server side included). You'll need to ask your web administrator whether your server supports SSI or not. Here's how to do it. You just put the AdSense code in a text file, save it as 'adsense.txt', and upload it to the root directory of your web server. Next, call the code on other pages using a one line SSI code like this:

This trick is really a time saver especially for those who use automatic page generators to generate pages on their website.
Here's a tool I use to generate thousands of pages on my website within seconds: www.adsense-insider-secrets.com/page-generator.htm
Try these tips today, and I guarantee your AdSense earnings will improve. For more tips, you can visit my site at: www.adsense-insider-secrets.com

Treble your Adsense Income in 60 Minutes
By: Kenny Hemphill
Google's Adsense is one of the most powerful weapons in website publisher's arsenal. It enables you to monetize your sites easily and if used properly can generate a very healthy income. However, if you're not using it properly and maximizing the income you squeeze from it, your leaving money on the table something we all hate doing.
Boosting your return from Adsense can be done very easily and quickly, and you'll be amazed by the results.
I ran Adsense on my sites for over a year before I discovered these techniques, and like many people, I though I was doing pretty well. My clickthrough rates and CPM figures were very healthy, and I didn't honestly think that they could be improved a great deal. How wrong I was. Immediately after I implemented a few quick changes my clickthrough rate more than doubled, and by doing some fine tuning I manged to get nearly three times as many people to click on the ads as had been previously doing so.
The first technique is one that was 'discovered' by the amazingly helpful Debs, on SiteSell's SBI! forums. When I read it originally, it made sense and I decided to goive it a go, but I wasn't prepared for the immediate impact it would have on my income. It involves making only a few simple changes to the format and positioning of your Adsense ads.
Firstly, forget about using banners or skyscrapers. These ad formats are almost universally ignored by surfers. Why? Because we've all been conditioned to recognise a skyscraper or banner as an advert and as these adverts are rarely of any interest, we ignore them. What's needed is a way of integrating Adsense ads into the editorial on your site as seamlessly as possible. To do this you need to do three things:

  1. 1. Use the 250 x 250 rectangle format

  2. 2. Make the background color of the ad the same as the background color of your site, or as close to it as possible.

  3. 3. Make the ads borderless by setting the border color to be the same as the background color of the ad.

These changes can be made by logging into your Adsense account and creating a custom format. Just select the 250 x 250 ad format, and create a custom color palette. Use the color picker to pick the coor you want. The Javascript is automatically generated at the foot of the page, ready for you to copy and paste into the pages on your site.
Now, you need to position your ads where surfers are most likely to click on them. Research using retina scanning technology has shown that the place that surfers tend to look at first and most often is the top left. I don't know the reasons for this, perhaps it's because that's where we're used to seeing the most useful search engine results (at the top of the rankings) and search engines are the sites we most often visit, so we automatically look at the same place on other sites.
Whatever the reasoning, as soon as I made the above changes to my Adsense ads, clickthrough rates doubled, immediately.
The second technique is much newer and one which is entirely based on my own experience. Google has recently added a new type of Adsense format, called Adlinks. This displays a series of links on your page in the same style of Ad unit as regular Adsense ads. When a user clicks a link they are taken to a page of adverts that resembles regular Google search results. As a publisher, you are paid every time a user clicks one of those ads.
Adventurous soul that I am, I jumped in with both feet and started to trial Adlinks on my most visited pages as soon as it was launched. I'm using the four links in a square box format, positioned top left of my page content. After a few weeks of running Adlinks alongside regular Adsense ads, it's clear that the return on Adlinks is about a fifth to a quarter higher than regular ads. There's no clear reason for this but one explanation may lie in the fact that clicking on an Adlink takes the user to page of 'results'. When a user clicks on one of these, you are paid for the click. If the user finds what they want, great, if not, it seems that they hit the Back button on their browser and try again, just as you would for normal search engine results. Then they click on another result, and you get paid again. So it's possible to be paid more than once from the same Adlink click. Now, this reasoning is speculative, but it does make perfect sense in the light of my Adlinks results.
Finally, Adsense has some excellent tracking statistics that allow you to track your results across a number of sites on a site by site, page by page, or just about any other basis you choose. This is a very powerful tool and you should use it to find out which ads are performing best for you and fine tune your Adsense and Adlink ads accordingly.
So you see, by spending an hour or so of your time making a few adjustments to the Adsense ads on your sites, you can very quickly treble your Adsense income. Give it a go, you'll be amazed by the results.

It Makes Sense to Add AdSense to Your Blog
By: Sanjay Johari
Google AdSense is easy to install on a web page or blog and constitutes additional source of income without spending anything. You have to apply on-line for Google AdSense Program and generally approval comes from Google within two days. Those having AdWord account can use AdWord e-mail address and password for AdSense account also. After acceptance of application, Google confirms creation of your Adsense account thru e-mail. You get a code for AdSense text ads and another code for AdSense search. These codes are to be installed on web page or blog and within minutes the page will start displaying ads from Google, and a Google search bar. AdSense is available in dozen languages worldwide.
The code for AdSense can be placed on any of your web pages. I think placing it on your blog will give you distinct advantage because blogs have several points in their favor. They are easily indexed by search engines. Recently two of my simple blogs were indexed by Google within 2-3 days of submission of URL's which I think is quite fast. With Yahoo! it is even easier - just add the URL of your blog to your My Yahoo page and Yahoo! will start accessing it immediately. GoogleAlert is a free tool that can be used to know when your blog is indexed by Google.
You can have your blog up and running in minutes free of cost from several sites that provide this service. I personally use blogger.com. With blogs you do not need to worry about designing websites, registering domain name or hiring web site hosting service. You simply write your content on the blog and it is ready for publication.
An excellent article by John Taylor on creating blog is re-published here: http://sanjay-j.com/art1ab33.html
With AdSense wide range of options is available - number of ads for display, shape and size of display, color schemes. More than 200 colors are available from which you can choose color for border, background and text. 24 pre-set color palettes are readily available; in addition you can have your own custom-palette to match with the appearance of your web page. Similarly, color schemes are available for Google search bar.
When the web page is opened, Google ads are placed which match with the content of the page and are highly relevant. Google finds right ads for the web page from 100,000 AdWord advertisers.
Several options are available for the ads that you would like to be displayed on your page. Ad filters can be activated which will block up to 200 URL's of your choice which you do not want to show on your page. You may like to filter away ads from your competitors. You can even choose your own default ads for display. Google uses sensitive content filters to prevent display of sensitive material. If you find that your page is not really getting relevant ads, it may be time to look critically at the content of the page, particularly the keywords used in text, links and tags. Little SE optimization of the page should resolve this problem.
Sometimes Google places public service ads when no target ads are available. To suppress public service ad, it is possible to specify your own image ad or HTML page ad which will appear in place of public service ad. This ensures that some ad is always present there. Or, if you like, the space reserved for Adsense ads can be made to collapse.
AdSense tracker is another useful feature which tracks the ads on your pages and generates report for you. The reports can be customized based on requirement. Typically reports can give page impressions displayed, number of clicks and click-thru rates. It is also possible to check earnings any time.
Web page owner can make use of all these facilities and try to get best results. With the help of Ad tracker lot of useful information can be obtained - which ads are doing well, which color combination gets better results, which location of the web page is best for showing ads and so on. This analysis can be used to improve traffic as well as click-thru rates.
With AdSense you have virtually nothing to lose. If you have not yet installed AdSense on your website you can perhaps give it a thought. Any free space which can be created on your website to accommodate AdSense can be used to generate additional income.

What to do When AdSense(TM) Serves the Wrong Ads
By: Dave Lavinsky
The most common frustrations among AdSense publishers are 1) Google serving inappropriate ads on their web pages, 2) low click-through rates and 3) low payouts per click. This article discusses the first frustration, which is highly correlated with the other issues, and discusses what webmasters can do to combat it.
To begin, it is important to understand how Google determines what ads to serve via the AdSense program. This explanation goes back to April 2003 when Google acquired Santa Monica, CA-based Applied Semantics. Applied Semantics products are based on its patented CIRCA technology, which understands, organizes, and extracts knowledge from websites and information repositories in a way that mimics human thought and enables more effective information retrieval. A key application of the CIRCA technology is that it allows Google to, without human intervention, understand the key themes on web pages in order to deliver relevant and targeted advertisements.
However, the CIRCA technology is not always accurate or appropriate to the page. For example, in a general web page about health topics, AdSense is currently serving ads for insulin even though only two words in one paragraph relate to insulin. Rather, the site is much more focused on dieting.
One explanation may be that the CIRCA technology is tied to keyword pricing and inventory (e.g., AdWords(TM) advertiser daily budgets), and that AdSense serves ads that it hopes to maximize revenues. However, this often violates a critical AdSense rule - if the ads do not relate to the topic discussed on the web page, visitors will not click on them. Likewise, TopPayingKeywords.com always tells clients never to try and trick AdSense. That is, if customers are coming to your page from a link or advertisement for one topic (e.g., hair styles), never try to create a page about an unrelated topic (e.g., mortgages), just because that unrelated topic is an expensive keyword. While you will be serving expensive ads, because the topics are not correlated, visitors are unlikely to click on them.
Getting AdSense to serve the correct ads is a trial-and-error process. In the health page example above, all it took to get AdSense to remove the insulin ads was to remove the paragraph in the text that mentioned insulin. Fortunately, AdSense often updates itself within just a few hours, so its easy to keep modifying your site until the most relevant, and hopefully most expensive, ads are served.

                                                              AdSense Stats and Performance 101
By: Tony Zhu
As more and more people are getting into the AdSense game, there seem to be many questions asked again and again by the newcomers. Here, I have compiled detailed explanations to some common AdSense terms, facts, and performance tips.
Terminology
Real Stats (Figures based on actual performance tracking updated several times a day)
Page Impressions: The number of times an ad unit (a collection of 1 to 4 ads). If you have two ad units on a page, then every time the page loads you get two page impressions. Page Impressions DO include PSA (Public Service Ads) and Alternate Ads.
Clicks: The number of times someone clicks on an ad. Clicks on PSA will be included in this stat as well.
Earnings: Money youve made.
Derived Stats (Figures calculated from the real stats)
Clickthrough Rate: Clicks/Page Impressions. It is expressed as a percentage.
Effective CPM: Earnings per thousand page impressions. Calculated by 1000 X Earnings / Page Impressions
EPC: Your EPC is not displayed because it does not really matter. EPC stands for Earnings Per Click (Earnings/Clicks) and is frequently talked about.
Facts (What we discovered)
1. Stats Update Frequency/Delay: Although AdSense stats usually updates every couple hours, you dont need to panic at all if you see no change in your stats for over 12 hours. Even if other webmasters are seeing normal updates.
2. Dont worry about anomalies in your stats during the course of the day. These are not accurate. There could be delays in the update due to one reason or another. Only when you see figures for a new day can you know that the figures for the previous day are not going to change any more.
3. Sometimes the stats are carried forward several days. This happens when Google decides to freeze your clicks and earnings for fraud checking/tracking purposes or server delays. Thus, you may notice your earnings/clicks shoot straight up when you least expect it. It is possible for your CTR to go up by as much as 10% and your CPM to raise $200 over the normal.
4. The update on the different stats are not synchronized. For example, when you check your account, the page impressions may be freshed updated, while the clicks and earnings are from two hours ago. Thus, there may be a sharp drop/increase in the derived stats. Due to this, you dont need to fret over all these little bumps.
5. Often delays in updates foreshadow changes to the AdSense program. For example, slow updates preceded introduction of channels, TOS changes, and addition of new languages.
6. Channels are a great way for you to track the performance of your ad on a particular page/site. If you want to use the same code for all of your pages, you can also use the recently added URL channels. Of course, channel data are delayed by two days.
Performance Tips
1. EPC doesnt matter! That is because you have absolutely no control over your EPC. Your EPC is influenced by many variables including your webpage content, advertisers budget, seasonal fluctuations and more. Thus, the productive thing to do is concentrate on the factors that you have control over such as CTR and page impressions.
2. How well am I doing?
Many of us probably wonder how we are doing compared to other AdSense users, including myself. However, we really cant get a good sense of the average if Google doesn't disclose their figures, which they dont. Since people doing well with AdSense generally dont like to reveal their earnings due to the fear that they may be terminated by the program, any discussion about an average EPC/CTR/CPM is a waste of time.
3. From various experiments by myself and other webmasters, we can conclude (at least for now) that using image/text ads instead of just text ads will dramatically decrease you CTR because of various reasons. (i.e. fewer advertisers, banner blindness etc.) However, the EPC is usually slightly higher.
4. Blend in or stand out? This is completely site dependent. Sometimes, people will never click on your ads unless you trick them into doing so, although this is not so good for long term. Other sites will require your ad to scream in your visitors face to get good clicks. Do some extensive testing to find out whats good for your site.
5. Make good use of the URL filter feature. Blocking repetitive (eBay ads) or boring ads (free smilies) will definitely increase your CTR.
6. Large rectangles placed above the fold will often generate most revenue. However, this may not be a good long term solution since such and ad is usually obstrusive and have little aesthetic value.
7. If you run a forum site, you may notice that your earnings are very low. Here is a solution: use a simple cookie-based php script that only displays AdSense ads once every 10 page views -- essentially a counter counts down from 10 to 0 and on 0 displays an AdSense block. Between the AdSense ads, display regular banner ads. Although your AdSense page impressions may be down, you will notice your CTR skyrocketing, and a large increase in overall earnings.
In conclusion: Play around with your ad to maximize your performance, and look at the big picture in your stats!

Get Real-time Adsense Channel Stats And
Find Out Which Ads Are Being Clicked
By: Subhendu Sen
If you have multiple sites or multiple directories in your site for different subjects and you have placed Adsense codes in your site, I am sure you would like to know: (a) from which site or directory you are earning the most / least, (b) which Adsense ads are being clicked and (c) from which page?
CREATE CHANNELS FOR EACH SITE
To get separate stats for each site / section / directory / page with Adsense, you need to create channels for each one. Create a channel with a relevant name and generate a code for that channel. Paste that particular Adsense code to the concerned pages / sites.
GET CHANNEL STATS IN REAL TIME
Google now provides Channel Data in real time. Earlier, it used to provide data for '2 days before'. Follow the procedure mentioned below:

  1. 1. From 'Date Range' drop down menu, select 'today'.

  2. 2. Check the radio button : Group data by 'Channel'.

  3. 3. On the right hand panel, check the radio button 'Channel data'.

  4. 4. Click on 'Select ALL' at the bottom of channel list.

  5. 5. Click on 'Display Report'.

Now you get the seggregated report for clicks generated for each channel.
WHICH ADS ARE BEING CLICKED AND FROM WHICH PAGE?
It is very important to know that which pages / sites are generating good Adsense revenue and which are not. We can work upon those poorly performing pages. If we can get to know about which ads are being clicked, that would make us feel more informed for many obvious reasons.
Currently Google does not provide this data. But you can still get it from a very nice and detailed free web stat service, Add Free Stats.
Add Free Stats provides a very detailed web stats which satisfies most webmasters. You may open a free account at : www5.addfreestats.com, get the code and paste it at the bottom of each of your pages.
Make sure that in 'Your Account' section you mark 'Yes' for 'Exit link tracking'.
Now check your stats at Add Free Stats, and you will find a "A" icon beside the visitors' ip. That means that visitor has clicked on an Adsense code. Place your mouse over the icon, and you can see which ad has been clicked.
You can also generate a separate report of pages that have generated Adsense click. Select 'Exit Links/Adsense' from the drop down menu marked as 'Pages'. Here you get a folder icon named Adsense, the number of Adsense clicks etc. Click on the Adsense folder icon and you get the number of Adsense clicks on each page and which ads are clicked on that page. Click on the 'hour glass' icon and you get the CTR, PV too for each page.
I am no way connected to Add Free Stats. I am just a happy user. Any webmaster working seriously towards Adsense earning, must have this tool.

Secret Recipe To A Successful Google Adsense Campaign
By: PuRe
Google's Adsense program is a great way for website owners to finally make some money for all their hard work. Google Adsense ads are mainly text ads that use the powerful algorithm of Google search to carefully match and target ads to the contents of a webpage. Google has recently started including fancy graphical ads into their arsenal.
Adsense has been considered by some a revolutionary program that blurs the lines of the digital and financial divide. No longer are just large sites such as Cnn and Aol making large advertising revenue. Today anyone with great content, niche site or even a blog can become apply to become an Adsense publisher. Adsense publishers have enjoyed this program, with many people saying it has one of the highest payments per click in the industry. One complaint has been persistent since the introduction of the program, the quality of Google's Adsense publisher reports. Adsense publisher reports leave much to be desired. Google has introduced channels as a means for publishers to distinguish how many times an ad is displayed in a certain location or how many times that particular channel is clicked, but that's about it. It's not really much reporting when you compare it to other programs.
People ask me all the time, how do you do so well on your adsense campaign? Normally I kept that information secret, as a recipe for a successful campaign, but today I'm going to share it with you. One thing I hated so much as an Adsense publisher was that I never new exactly what ads were being clicked, specifically what was my visitor interested in? Using channels didn't let me determine specifically which page the ad was on that they clicked the ad on. Using Google reports, I couldn't determine who was referring valuable traffic to me, was it the search engines, was it link exchanges, directories? Google's reporting, outside of how much I made, really didn't report anything. Not doing anything about it and being ignorant of all this important information was my worst mistake. Google has all these stats because they know it's important, so why shouldn't the publishers too?
Ok, it's getting close to the part where I tell you my secret to Adsense success. I'm pretty skeptical about buying software that I can't change or modify to fit my own purpose, so I guess I'd say I'm an open-source man. When I finally found an open-source program that claimed it could give me the stats I was looking for, I gave it a real look. It's called Asrep , written in PHP and Perl (yes, that's two choices). Asrep is the premier adsense monitoring script. It's the swiss army knife every Adsense publisher should have in their back pocket.
First, before I get into anything, the small code that you add does not alter any Google code, and it does not violate their TOS, we actually asked, yes, you can exhale now. How exactly does click tracking affect your Adsense revenue your probably thinking? I'm getting to that answer, just bare with me a little longer. Normally on any given day I'd log into my Adsense account and be happily surprised, not alot of clicks but I did make a good amount from them. I wish I knew what that ad was, or even what keyword caused that ad to show, because I'd certainly want to target those higher paying ads for my site. Now you don't have to wish, with Asrep you can actually get detailed reports on just about any Adsense information you could want to know. When I say all the information you'd ever want to know, I mean all. I'm talking about serious reporting Google hasn't even thought of giving publishers, for example the click thru rate of a particular referrer. Yeah, you heard that right, now you can actually find out which traffic is being converted into clicks.
Still being ever skeptical, I decided I need to take a little test drive of Asrep, seeing is believing. It took all of 3 minutes to install, and another nice thing is that it works on multiple domains too, so you don't have to do multiple installations. You'll be able to get Geo-Ip information so you can determine where your visitor is from. This program is perfect, for those who are scared about losing their hard-earned account to Click Fraud, or even the suspicion of it. We all know that click fraud is one of the plagues of our industry and once your site is suspected of it, you might as well throw in the towel. Don't be the victim, now you can be proactive in combating click fraud be letting Google know about repetitive clicks from a certain IP address, before Google lets you know!
Now that you can see which traffic gives you the best click thru rate you won't have to waste your time with bad ad campaigns. Now that you know which pages give you the most clicks you can improve their look and target more traffic to them. Now that you know which ads give you the most revenue per click, you can target them better with your page content. It's all about the Adsense Reporting and thats my secret recipe to running a successful Adsense campaign, that and staying on top of Adsense News.
I hope this article helps out everyone who have been considering running Adsense on their website. The Author PuRe runs an Information Technology Community site at www.pureehosting.com

How To Get Banned From Google Adsense In Just 2 Clicks
By: Michael Oliver
The darkest nightmare a hardworking affiliate webmaster fears is receiving a dreaded Google Adsense Warning, or even worse, a notice that Google Adsense has been disabled for the entire account.
The notice starts out like this:
"It has come to our attention that invalid clicks have been generated on the ads on your web pages. We have therefore disabled your Google Adsense account. Please understand that this step was taken in an effort to protect the interest of the AdWords advertisers."
Some webmasters use Google Adsense to generate 100% of their website income and the account may hold many different websites. In that case, every website is disabled at one time. An automatic disqualification can be devastating, especially when Google has no obligation to explain its decision in detail.
Not only does the account become disabled, but also existing click-through earnings are refunded back to the advertisers.
Life gets tough, but is it that easy to get an account banned? Yes it is.
The terms of service every Google Adsense Webmaster accepts, describes the easy do's and don'ts.
Do use the Adsense approved formats only
Do keep your click-through data and income private.
Don't display Adsense on registration or thank you pages.
Don't use Adsense code and a competitor's content-targeted advertisement on the same page.
Don't encourage anyone else to click on ads.
For a complete list, read the Adsense policies and terms
www.google.com/adsense/policies
www.google.com/adsense/terms
The easiest method an account can be banned is by a Webmaster clicking on the site's own ads.
Just how many click-throughs are needed to get a site banned isn't exposed, but Google Adsense watches for multiple clicks from the same domain. One person was banned who clicked twice from the same domain within a 24-hour period. That doesn't mean that is Adsense policy, because Adsense appears to place suspect sites on watch status until the action is duplicated.
Spikes in click-through percentages are hefty red flags. Those are the changes worth becoming proactive over by emailing Google Adsense. A site that rises from a consistent 1% click-through rate to a 10% click-through rate on one day could become suspect. The actual percentage that creates the flag isn't made public for obvious reasons.
What's the safest way to protect an account?
Don't click on the site's own ads ever.
Deceptive practices work for a short time, but they always come back to hurt the originator.

Google's AdSense Soon To Have New Rival?
By: Michael Cheney
A large part of Google's multi-billion dollar annual turnover comes from its nifty AdSense advertising program. The software enables website owners to drop in a piece of code to their pages that then serves advertisements provided by Google.
How Does Google AdSense Work?
It all works dynamically and the adverts that are displayed based on the content of the page. So if a website owner places the Google AdSense code on a page about holidays then holiday ads are delivered onto the page automatically by Google.
Everybody wins because when people click on one of the ads - the advertiser gets a visitor, Google can charge a rate for the clickthrough and the website owner who is serving the ad gets a share of this revenue.
It's been an excellent model for all parties concerned and especially as Google has enabled even small website owners to take part which means accumulatively Google's advertising real estate is absolutely vast.
Is The Monopoly Over?
But there may be trouble ahead for Google as, according to sources at CNETNews, Yahoo! is planning a very similar service to challenge Google's.
The two search giants have been up against each in the search advertising arena already but it is only now that Yahoo! seems poised to launch a monopoly-breaking attempt on Google's AdSense program.
This is all great news for smaller website owners as it means the two search goliaths will be vying to provide the best service and offering the best rates to compete for the lucractive ad space.
When Should You Accept Advertising On Your Website?
Well it's a difficult call. Do it too soon and you risk deterring visitors from staying on your website. Do it too late and you'll find that when you DO finally implement it people might not have seen it coming and they may leave your site in droves!
The best policy to adopt is, just like Google, to focus on RELEVANCE. Don't bombard your visitors with advertisements that are totally unrelated to their needs or interests or totally separate to the content you provide on your website.
And remember - often times it can be better to foster relationships and trust with your visitors with one eye on the longer term view rather than hit them with ads to make a small amount of cash in the short-term.

Chapter 1 – What Is Affiliate Marketing?
For those who don’t know what an Affiliate Program is please read this chapter.
However, if you do know what Affiliate Programs are then skip this chapter and move
straight onto the next chapter.
Affiliate Programs
There are many ways to make money on the web. However, one of the quickest and
easiest ways to start a web business is by working what are called Affiliate or Reseller
Programs.
An Affiliate is essentially a commissioned agent for a product or service. What
happens is that as a commissioned agent, you (the Affiliate) get a percentage of sales
after you (the Affiliate) have made those sales.
Affiliates are also called Resellers, so you may come across this term as well.
You can easily find Affiliate programs by going to the numerous Affiliate Directories
that are on the web. You’ll find these directories by going to any Search Engine and
typing in the phrase “Affiliate Directory.” Alternatively, if you’re surfing the web and
come across a site that you like with a product or service you believe is valuable or
useful then take a closer look at the site for links to their “Affiliate or Reseller
Program.”
Affiliate programs are usually free to join, and good affiliate programs will always
have all the necessary tools for you to sell the site’s products or services.
Affiliate Marketing
Affiliate marketing is the way that you market the affiliate programs in which you’re
involved. It is the main subject of this book.
Chapter 2 - Choosing Your Affiliate Program
There are many affiliate programs available to you on the net. However, to improve
your profitability as an affiliate you need to choose the programs you market wisely,
as not all affiliate programs are created equal.
Tips For Joining Affiliate Programs
Before you merrily join any affiliate program it pays to consider which affiliate
programs are the best to join.
These are the crucial program features that I consider necessary inclusions in any
affiliate program.
The affiliate program must have a generous payment structure. For me, this
means a high commission payment, which is a high percentage of the purchase
price - nothing under a 25% commission.
Make sure the affiliate program you’re about to join has a professional looking
site. You don’t want to send visitors to a site that looks unprofessional.
Make sure that the affiliate program has a comprehensive affiliate statistics
page, which lists the number of click-throughs, the number of sales, and the
amount you’ve earned to date. This should be broken down by month.
Make sure that these affiliate statistics are “real time”. This means statistics
which are updated automatically and immediately. You do not want to find out
today about a sale you made a week ago.
Ensure that the affiliate program provides you with a wide variety of text links,
banners and graphics to put on your web page. Personally I prefer to use text
links. However, certain other types of banners and graphics still work well.
Know how often you are going to be paid. If you’re tossing up between 2
programs and one pays monthly and the other pays quarterly, the one which
pays monthly is a better arrangement. You don’t want to wait months before
you get paid for your hard work.
See if the affiliate program gives $ examples of how their top affiliates are
doing. This can be a great indicator as to whether or not it is a good affiliate
program. If some affiliates are earning many thousands per month, then it is a
good affiliate program.
If the affiliate program has examples of which marketing methods these
successful affiliates are using to get their results, then this information is also
most beneficial.
An affiliate program, which offers a special monthly newsletter just for its
affiliates is also great. Here, you’ll also get extra tips and information on
techniques that are working well.
See if the program notifies you by email when you make a sale, or you have an
affiliate sign up under you (if it is a 2-tier program). It motivates you when you
see ‘You’ve made another sale, or another Affiliate has signed up’ in your
email inbox.
Ensure that the program provides top-level support for its affiliates. If they
cannot answer your query immediately make sure they respond within 48 hours.
Good, timely support is critical to your success.
There is a huge selection of Affiliate Programs available to you on the web. Choosing
the right one for you to market is never an easy task. However these features
(described above) are necessary components of a professionally managed affiliate
program.
Remember Affiliate Programs are a “buyers market.” So choose programs which have
these preferred features, and a product or service you believe in.
Make sure you do plenty of research before joining any affiliate program.
Commissions - The Higher the Better
A good way to identify if the management of an affiliate program you’re thinking of
joining is serious about their affiliate program is by the commissions (percentage of
sales) they’re willing to pay you for your effort.
If someone is offering you 10% commission and they are keeping the rest, then you
need to ask yourself this… "Should I really be in this affiliate program?”
An affiliate program I recently joined called ‘E-Book Marketing Explained’ pays out
45% commission to their affiliates and another 10% on the 2nd tier.
That’s 55% of the sale price!
The owners of the program only keep 45% of the sale price, and it’s from this
percentage that they also take out their costs. Now, either they’ve gone completely
mad, or they are very smart.
I suspect they’re very smart.
Why?
Well, by paying out such high commissions they’re attracting many serious affiliates
into their program. This means that they’ll sell in much higher volumes. With these
higher volumes of sales they can afford to give away such a high commission.
AND… because they give so much away to their affiliates with their high commission
rate it shows that they’re supremely confident about the worth of their own product or
service, and its ability to sell itself. Their product or service is that good, and this is
why they offer these high percentages to their affiliates.
Affiliates do all the pre-selling and all the hard work to get the prospect to view the
program’s web sites pages. Therefore, they want to be paid well for their effort. So, as
an affiliate, do not accept miserly 10% commission rate payments. Set yourself a
standard of nothing less than 25% and make sure that this 25% represents more than
just a few dollars in payment.
It is with the bigger percentage payers that you’ll make decent commissions, the 40%-
plus hitters. These BIG affiliate program commissions are the ones that will create an
income burst to your bank account balance each and every month. Focus on these to
get a better return for your effort.
Chapter 3 - Affiliate Marketing Principles
Spend 75% of Your Time Marketing Programs
How important do you think it is to market your Affiliate
programs? Well, most people would probably say that it’s quite important.
I would say that this is the main difference between success and failure for anybody
marketing Affiliate programs. The more time you spend marketing your affiliate
programs the more successful you’ll be… and the more money you’ll make.
‘Super Affiliates’’ spend 75% of their time marketing their affiliate programs. This
means that they only spend 25% of their time working on their affiliate programs. The
bulk of their time is spent in promoting them.
Now, compare this with most affiliates who spend about 10% to 20% of their time
marketing their affiliate programs, and the rest of their time “fiddling.”
You may have read the statistics that indicate that between 80% and 90% of all
affiliates make little or no money each month from their affiliate programs.
A big reason for their lack of success is…
LACK OF MARKETING.
Just because it’s an affiliate program does not mean that you do not have to spend
time marketing it.
Treat each affiliate program you belong to as if it were your own product. This will
force you to concentrate more of your efforts on marketing. By thinking like the
“owner” rather than the “affiliate” you’ll automatically focus on what is important to
make those sales.
In fact, you could say that you have to spend MORE TIME marketing your affiliate
programs than if you were the owner of the product, because not only are you trying
to get people to buy a product, you are also competing with other affiliates marketing
the same product.
Spend more time marketing your programs than your fellow affiliates and you’ll earn
more money. If others spend more time than you marketing their programs who do
you think is going to succeed?
However, when I talk about marketing affiliate programs this doesn’t mean that you
have to go out and spend a whole lot of money doing this.
There are numerous, effective, low cost and free marketing methods that work very
well.
Try the following free marketing methods to improve your affiliate program results.
 Write your own articles
 Use ezine ad swaps
Use sig files in your emails
To be successful with affiliate programs you need to be disciplined and consistent
with your marketing. Set aside a couple of hours each day for the marketing of your
affiliate programs, and I guarantee you that your monthly affiliate check will begin to
increase.
You may even become a Super Affiliate one day!
Affiliate Marketing Techniques That Get Results
These are techniques that (when used consistently) bring good results.
Spend time trying to get a higher ranking in the various search engines for your
web sites. Learn as much as you can about search engines and make it a weekly
task to try to improve your rankings in them.
The word "free" and especially when written "FREE" is over used. Use it only
occasionally on your site. For example you could use it to give away a free EBook
or free article you have written.
Spend 75% of your time marketing your web site and affiliate programs and
25% of your time working on them. Most people spend about 10% to 20%
marketing their web site and affiliate programs. Then again, most people online
do not make any money.
Use text links rather than banners for your affiliate programs. Text links have a
much higher click through ratio. People have trained themselves to ignore
banners.
Write you own articles and post them on a separate page on your site. Then
submit them to the following article resource sites:
www.ezinearticles.com/add_url.htm
www.ideamarketers.com
www.marketing-seek.com/articles/submit.shtml
www.web-source.net/articlesub.htm
Check your clicks and sales regularly at your affiliate web site. If you see a
slowdown in clicks and/or sales then alter your marketing tactics. Try
something different. Do not continue using the same techniques if they’re are
not working.
Use Newsgroups, but do this in a clever way. Stand out from the crowd. Use
Newsgroups to announce new articles that you’ve written. However, make sure
that you read the rules of each newsgroup before you post to it, and never, ever
spam.
Do not use graphics that will slow down the loading of your web page. If your
selling or pre-selling information is predominantly text, your site will load
much faster. My site has one graphic on it. That’s right, just ONE.
Subscribe to a number of newsletters, which are related to the theme of your
web site. You can always get a lot of valuable affiliate tips from good
newsletters.
Post articles that other webmasters have written on your site, but ask them first.
You can even do your own review of other people’s articles.
Find out whether any affiliate programs you belong to have articles on their
site, and find out if you can post them on your site. Then include your affiliate
link back to the affiliate site at the end of the each article.
Be an Affiliate Site AND a Sales Site
Are you just a sales site reselling affiliate products and services?
You’ve probably seen sites that sell a product or service and noticed that they also
have an affiliate program, which you can join. There is often a link at the top left or at
the bottom of the site, which says “Affiliate Program”.
Not only can you buy the product or service, but you can also sell it and earn a
commission.
Well, how about using this very same concept for the affiliate programs you’re
promoting. How about setting up your site like this but not actually developing the
product or service yourself.
You can use this technique with 2 tier programs!
Not only will you directly earn commissions through the sale of products or services
at your site, you can also sign up second tier affiliates to earn commissions for you as
well.
Many of the best affiliate programs are ‘Two Tier’ systems. In fact, it is advised that
you join affiliate programs that have two tiers.
So, how should you design your site to accommodate sales and promote affiliate signups?
There are 2 ways to do this:
If you have a number of products or services that you are selling at your site, then
underneath the “To Buy” affiliate link place a “To join affiliate program” link. Most
likely your affiliate program will provide you with 2 different affiliate links, a “Buy”
link and a “join program” link..
Chances are, people you sign up on the 2nd tier via your affiliate program link will
also end up buying the product themselves. So, not only do you get a direct
commission from the sale to this person you’ll also get 2nd tier commissions from any
sales they make in the future.
Affiliate mini-sites
Set up a mini-site for each one of your main affiliate programs, so that you’re only
reselling this one product or service on that site.
This would be a site with only two pages. On the first page place the link to the
product itself. On the second page include a description of the affiliate program, and
place the link to the affiliate program sign up page.
Your main goal is to actually direct visitors to the second page where they can sign up
for the affiliate program.
Why?
You’ll get more commissions from signing up affiliates in your 2nd tier than from
visitors directly buying the product through your affiliate link. This is because more
people will be interested in the affiliate program rather than the product. However,
when they join the affiliate program, many of them will actually buy the product or
service.
In summary, think about using your site as an affiliate program site AND a sales site.
It gives you two bites at the cherry, and having 2nd tier affiliates means you can be
earning commissions for many years to come.
Fewer Links = More Profits
Have you got too many links on your site?
I saw a site today that had only four visible links on its home page. Three of those
links were text links and linked to other pages within the same web site. Therefore
there was actually only one link to a different site.
Is this site operating profitably?
I’m really not sure but the information on the site was very good, and this got me
thinking.
Everyone is talking these days about link popularity and
getting as many people to link to your site. Often this means you have to give
reciprocal links back to them. The theory goes that the better your link popularity the
better you’ll rank with the search engines.
Well some people appear to be taking this idea to extremes. Suddenly you’ve got 473
links to other sites all sprayed across your web pages. Your visitors are bombarded
with banners and text links on totally different subjects.
So, visitors do not know what to click on next… Arrrrggggghhhh !
Sure, you might jump up a couple of places in the search engine results but is it really
worth it?
Also, there is a real possibility that the Search Engines will actually dump your site.
It’s theme-focused links which actually improve rankings with the Search Engines,
not random, unrelated links from Link farms and link exchanges.
With so many links these sites are not focused.
So, what’s the answer here?
Fewer links might mean more profits.
When your visitors come to your site and see only a few links there will only be a few
places for them to click on. This means that they’ll spend more time reading the actual
content on your site.
This will mean they’ll actually stay longer at your site.
The ‘stickiness’ of your site will improve. They may even come back because they’ve
learnt a bit more about you and your web site.
They may even bookmark your site for future reference.
Now, this is what you’re really trying to do … get the visitor to come back, because
people rarely buy on their first visit.
Now, compare this with a site that has lots of links. The visitor sees dozens of links to
dozens of different sites. They quickly scan the home page and see a link that takes
their interest and click on that link.
Now, they’re on someone else’s web site, and they’ve completely forgotten the name
of your web site, the one they were just on. You’ve not only lost a visitor, but you’ve
also lost a potential customer.
These people are less likely to come back to your site, because they cannot even
remember its name.
Here’s a method to focus your web site.
Use fewer links on your home page.
Put some of the links that were on your home page on your other pages. This will
make people click from your home page to one of the other pages of your web site.
Then make sure each link is related to what you are discussing on that particular page.
Be more focused.
People will stay longer at your site. They will not be inclined to click off your site on
the first link they see. Get them interested in what YOU are offering, not what
someone else is offering.
Less links means more profits.
Scatter Gun or Targeted Approach?
Here’s an affiliate marketing question. Should you join every affiliate program you
can find, or just a few?
There are many thousands of affiliate programs on the net that you can join. Every
man and his dog have one. But how do you decide which programs to join?
There are two schools of thought here. First you can take the scatter gun approach,
which is quite popular on the net, and join as many programs as possible. This ensures
that at least SOME of them will pay off. Well, that’s the theory at least.
The alternative is to take the targeted approach. Join some leading affiliate programs
in just a few areas and put more effort into promoting each one. First, do some
affiliate marketing research by reading as many articles as possible. This way you’ll
narrow down the options.
There are pros and cons to both the scatter gun and targeted approaches, but why not
do what everyone else is not doing. It seems to me most sites are taking the scatter
gun approach. For example: We have 3,000 affiliate programs listed on our site. We
have the largest selection of affiliate programs.
Focus? Find your own niche. Find a particular area that you’re interested in. If (for
example) your interest is in selling rare papyrus from Egypt and you find that there is
only one affiliate program dedicated to this, join it. Focus your affiliate marketing
Making Money With Affiliate Programs page 19 of 59
2002 David McKenzie, All Rights Reserved
strategies on this one product. You’re not thinking about selling papyrus from Egypt
one minute and then how to sell long distance phone calls the next.
With fewer products and services you are able to focus more energy and effort on the
products and services
that you have a genuine interest in. You may even become regarded as an expert in
this particular area because of your specialist knowledge.
There are many webmasters doing fine promoting their hundreds or even thousands of
affiliate programs, but the market for the scattergun approach now appears to be very
cluttered.
This is where the specialists enter - the new breed of Webmaster who focuses only on
particular products or services.
Alternatively, your focus may be on one area, and you select only the best-selling,
highest-paying commissions for that field. Then you target customers with your highlevel
affiliate marketing techniques.
There is room for the specialist to succeed.
Target your affiliate programs. Pick just a few.
Concentrate all of your time on marketing these programs, and because you’re so
passionate about the product or service that you’re selling, you will drive more
targeted traffic to your affiliate program.
It’s called focusing.
Take Affiliate Links off your Home Page
Do not put your affiliate program links on your home page.
Why?
Well you’ve slaved hard to get your home page ranked at spot number 5 on one of the
major search engines for a popular term.
Your visitor arrives at your site, which loads quickly, only taking a few seconds.
And whammo!
They see a nice little affiliate link right at the top of the
page and click on it. If the link interests them they soon forget which site they came
from.
You may make a commission on a sale from this person but you’ve also have just
missed an even bigger opportunity.
You’ve just made a big mistake.
By not letting your visitor get to know you first, you did not develop any type of
relationship with them. It is unlikely that they will ever come back to your site. Why
should they? They found what they wanted on your site, so there’s no need for them to
come back.
In fact they do not even remember who you are.
A way around this problem is to take the links to the affiliate programs OFF your
home page. Put them on your subsidiary pages instead.
This way a visitor has to click through a few pages on your site to get to these affiliate
links. And, while they’re doing this they’re getting to know you better.
They might find out that you offer a newsletter at your site, or that you have some
great articles that you or others have written.
They may like what they see, and when they do they’re more likely to return to your
site again at a later date. You see what’s happened here by making this small change?
Your visitor got to learn a bit more about you and your web site, and they’re much
more likely to return again.
Now, they’ll still end up getting to the affiliate link that they wanted to get to. It just
took them a little bit more time. And in the meantime, you’ve left some sort of
positive impression on your visitor in the process
There are just so many web sites out there and so many people promoting affiliate
links. You have just one opportunity to develop a relationship with your visitor. By
placing affiliate links on your sites’ subsidiary pages you’ll have a better chance of
doing this.
The Secrets of a higher "Conversion Ratio"
As an affiliate promoting programs, you need to know the conversion ratio of each
program to which you belong.
It is something you have control over.
But… what exactly is a conversion ratio?
For affiliate programs, the conversion ratio (or CR) is the number of visitors who click
through on your affiliate link compared to the number of sales you make.
For instance if you had 100 visitors to one of your affiliate programs you were
promoting and got 1 sale from these visits then your CR would be 1%.
One sale for every 50 visitors would be a CR of 2% and one sale for every 200
visitors would be a CR of 0.5%.
So what would be a good conversion ratio for an affiliate program?
Well after much research I’ve found that a 1% CR is quite acceptable. A CR of 0.5%
would be a little low, and if you have a CR of 3% then you’ve got a winning affiliate
program.
Depending on what you’re promoting your goal should be to achieve a CR of 1% -
2%.
But how do you do this?
To get a higher CR you need to concentrate on the following things:
Join quality affiliate programs that have products or services that are
proven sellers on the Internet.
Become an affiliate of HOT selling products or services (including marketing,
travel, health & fitness and ebooks.)
The more focused your web site is the better your conversion ratio. If you’re
promoting 100 different products or services your CR’s will be low. If you promote
one product or service at your site your CR will be MUCH higher.
How often do you promote your affiliate programs?
The more often you promote each program the higher your CR will be.
How many links on your site?
Remember, “less is more.” However the more affiliate links you have for the same
program then the higher your CR will be. Do not get carried away here. Don’t let your
web site look like a flea market, because your CR will drop dramatically. Monitor
your CR stats to see what’s working and what’s not. When a program is a poor
performer, experiment with your marketing and placement on the page strategies until
you get an improvement. If the program still doesn’t perform, drop it and find a
program that does.
By concentrating on these factors you should be able to achieve a CR of 1%. By doing
these things even better you may be able to increase it to 2%, or better.
Do not expect the CR to rise overnight.
A visitor to your site today may only turn into a sale in 6 months time. So make sure
that you have 12 months of data before properly assessing the conversion ratio.
The most important thing is marketing your affiliate programs. More marketing
means a higher CR, which means more money for you. So monitor your conversion
ratio and make it your goal to continually improve it.
Chapter 4 – AFFILIATE MARKETING
STRATEGIES
Does A High Traffic Site Convert Into Sales?
If you are already an affiliate, or are thinking of becoming an affiliate of a program,
you’ve probably seen some statistics like these included with the affiliate sign-up
information:
Low traffic sites can earn $500 - $1,000 per month,
Medium traffic sites can earn $1,000 to $2,000 per month
High traffic sites can earn $3,000 + per month.”
Wow!! Sounds pretty good.
From one affiliate program it seems you could be making over $3,000 a month just
because you’re a high traffic site.
Are you a high, medium or low traffic site?
Who knows? Different people have different views on what constitutes high, medium
or low traffic.
You’re probably a medium traffic site, or a low traffic site at the absolute worst.
So, the theory is that just by joining this fantastic affiliate program you’ll be earning at
least $500 a month, and more likely somewhere between $1,000 and $2,000 a month.
Gee, (you think to yourself) if I can find another couple of affiliate programs like this
I’ll be banking in excess of $100,000 a year.
Yippee!! Man, lets go for it. Let’s sign up NOW!
But what they didn’t tell you (and it's not their
obligation to tell you this either) is that these statistics only apply to those affiliates
who are marketing their affiliate programs every day.
This is the standard promotional procedure for the average performing affiliate.
Stick a couple of banners on their site.
 Wait a few weeks.
 No sales come.
 Join another affiliate program.
Stick these banners on their site.
 Wait a few more weeks.
 No sales!
Then they sit back and think affiliate programs are a joke.
But it’s not the affiliate program that’s the problem. It’s the affiliate.
If you use the right marketing methods that bring results, and spend many hours a
week marketing your affiliate programs, then you too can also be part of the affiliate
success ‘statistics’.
But, if you expect things to just magically happen with a couple of flashing banners
on your site then you’re going to be sorely disappointed.
Do not assume that these enticing statistics apply to all
Affiliates. Sadly, they do not. Affiliate programs are not the Holy Grail, however they
can be an excellent way to obtain a decent monthly check.
The most amazing statistic is that it is estimated that 90% of all affiliates earn little or
no money at all from affiliate programs.
Now this is a statistic you do not want to be part of. Change the way you do things
and you too can become a success statistic.
Are you in Auto-responder Heaven?
If not, then you should be. Auto-responders can save you time and put your web site
on automatic pilot.
Do you have original content on your site?
Have you written articles or bits of information that are interesting to your visitors?
As well as listing your information and/or articles on your site you can let your
visitors have their OWN copy of this information sent to them by auto-responder.
Making Money With Affiliate Programs page 28 of 59
2002 David McKenzie, All Rights Reserved
An auto-responder is an automated email delivery system. It that sends requested
information directly to the person whose asked for it.
For instance, the articles I have written at my site each have a separate auto-responder
at the bottom of the article. If you want a copy of these articles for yourself you just
send an email to the auto-responder address.
Viola!
The requested article is sent to you immediately by email.
Your own copy of my article is now on your computer, and you’ll have it there for
future reference.
But why would your visitors want copies of your articles?
Well, there are many reasons. Here are just a few.
First they can re-read the article at any time in the future. They do not have to
re-visit the web site to read the article again if they forgot some of the
information in it.
They may like the article or information so much that they want to include it in
their newsletter or on their web site. If they have a copy, then this is simple to
do. They do not have to go back to the web site and copy, paste, and re-format
the article. It’s already done for them.
Another reason to give your information to people by auto-responder is that
they now have your email address so that they can easily contact you in the
future.
Making Money With Affiliate Programs page 29 of 59
2002 David McKenzie, All Rights Reserved
They may want to do business with you down the road, and instead of
forgetting about you in the maze of web sites they now have your details on
file.
They may just want to compliment you on a well-written article.
Whatever the reason, they can easily contact you.
Of course you can also use auto-responders to deliver information on a particular
affiliate program with which you’re involved. This is a powerful way to promote to
people when they visit your site. Also, it’s all automatic.
So join the revolution and come up to auto-responder heaven. You’ll be glad you did.
To find an auto-responder for your purposes just go to one of the search engines and
type in ‘autoresponder’.
However, be aware that different auto-responders have different features and
capabilities. Examine these very closely before you choose a system.
If you choose to use a free auto-responder (which is not recommended) then you’ll
end up promoting that auto-responder on every message that’s sent out on “your”
system.
If you’re serious about marketing your affiliate programs what’s the point of
promoting someone else’s site or system, unless there’s the potential for you to earn
affiliate income by doing so?
Making Money With Affiliate Programs page 30 of 59
2002 David McKenzie, All Rights Reserved
I strongly recommend that you only use a professional auto-responder system.
Different auto-responder systems have different features, and prices. Compare their
features before choose the system that’s right for you.
As there are so many auto-responder systems available on the web, any list I could
provide here would not be comprehensive, so I choose not to do this. However, as a
starting point choose a system that doesn’t limit the number of messages that you
send. You’ll be able to get a robust auto-responder system for under $25.00 a month.
Web Design Tips for Affiliate Web Sites
For affiliates running their own web site, or those thinking of starting their own web
site, the following web design tips should help convert more visitors into sales.
1. Your main goal as an affiliate is to get people to click
your affiliate links, so make it very easy for visitors to do so. You have to actually tell
them to click the link. Have a ‘click here’ for every affiliate link on your site.
2. Content. Content. Content. Give visitors what they want. They want good quality
content and lots of it. Articles, tips, newsletter archives and details of each product or
service on your site.
3. The fewer pictures the better. Lots of graphics slow sites down, and as you are an
affiliate you want the visitor to click your affiliate link. If your web site takes a long
time to load your visitor may just leave and not even get a chance to click the affiliate
link.
4. Use a simple layout with a prominent, easy to find link to each major page on your
site. Complicated sites with lots of graphics and the latest design features are great in
theory, but the keep-it-simple strategy works best for affiliates.
5. If you offer a newsletter, make it very easy for people to sign up by having your
subscribe details on every page of your site. Also, include a newsletter archive section
on your site.
6. For lots of great content use other people’s articles on your site. Ensure these
articles fit the theme of your site and include your affiliate links at the bottom of the
page that these articles appear on.
7. Make sure you have a ‘Contact Us’ page. When you tell people who you are and
how to contact you they will instantly be more likely to trust you. If they trust you
they will be more likely to click on your affiliate links!
8. Be constantly looking for ways to improve the design of your affiliate web site.
Your design should be focused on getting visitors to click your affiliate links. A clean,
no fuss, style of web design usually gets better results for affiliate web sites.
A Thousand Words… Worth More Than One Picture!
In fact 10 words are better than one picture on the Internet.
In the offline world pictures often sell much better than
words. But in the online world words often sell much better than pictures. Especially
when they’re promoting your web site or affiliate programs.
Text Sells!
When you’re marketing your affiliate programs on the Internet try using text instead
of pictures.
To prove the sales benefits of text over pictures do a little test. If you currently have a
picture link at the top of your web site, monitor the click-throughs you’re currently
getting. Do this for two weeks.
Then change the picture link to a clever text link and monitor these click-throughs for
another two weeks.
I would be very surprised if the results were not much better for the text link. I know
from my own testing that text links always perform MUCH better than the
graphic/picture links. Other successful affiliates tell me that they have also have had
similar results.
You see people have trained themselves to ignore banners, and since most banners are
pictures the banner click through rates have fallen through the floor.
But guess what?
Some banners are actually doing really well. Cleverly designed interactive text
banners are getting very high click-through rates.
Why?
Online it’s words that sell best. Words prompt the person to find out more
information. They’ll take further action, and click on the text link, where they won’t
do this with a graphic link.
People are extremely resistant to being sold to. They want to get to know someone
first. They want to be able to trust someone.
Someone who’s selling something with flashy pictures could be seen as
untrustworthy. Text links however are more believable. Let me give you an example.
Often when I receive an email there’s information at the end of the email in the form
of a text link. The text link could read something like ‘For more great ideas click
here’.
Well if the information in the email was interesting to me then I’ll want to know what
other great ideas the sender of the email has to tell me about. I want to see what other
content they have at their site.
As affiliates you need to give your visitors great content. So, why divert their attention
away from your great content with pictures?
Give them more content.

Are You Using Classified Ads in Ezines?
If not, then you should be. They are much more effective than traditional online
classifieds. This is mainly because they’re more targeted.
How many ezines do you think there are on the Internet.
No one really knows. However there are some estimates of between 160,000 -
300,000.
And, guess what? Most of these ezines have a subscriber base of fewer than 2,000
subscribers. Few people target these low subscriber base ezines. The big boys just
target the large subscriber base ezines.
So, there’s a huge overlooked market here that can get your targeted ezine ad in front
of tens of thousands of people. Don’t overlook the smaller ezines.
These are three ways you can negotiate deals with ezine publishers for mutual
profitability.
1. Ezine Ad Swaps.
You can swap ezine ads with other ezine editors. The cost to you – ZERO! You just
approach another ezine editor and ask them to swap 6 ads in their next 6 issues. And
you will feature their ezine ad in your next 6 issues.
2. Paid Ezine Ads
You could negotiate a deal to pay for your ezine ads. If someone has a subscriber base
of 1,000 subscribers and they currently run little or no ezine ads ask them if they
would like to receive some money to run your ezine ad. I bet they won’t say no.
3. Swap Ezine Ads for Articles
Instead of swapping ezine ads why not feature another editor’s article in your ezine
and they feature your ezine ad in their ezine. Both sides benefit.
What about receiving money for running ezine ads in your own ezine?
Once you get to 1,000 subscribers you can run paid ezine ads. However, don’t run any
more than 3 per issue. You do not want to clutter your ezine with a whole lot of ads.
Readers will “tune out.”
Ad rates vary tremendously, but let’s assume you negotiate a deal of $10 per thousand
subscribers for each ezine ad. You run 3 ads per ezine.
If your ezine is a weekly publication then that’s an extra $30 per week, or $1,560 per
year… a nice little bonus earner for little effort.
When you get to 2,000 subscribers this would be over $3,000 per year. Can you see
the potential here?
So if you’ve never tried ezine classified ads, then give them a shot. Compared to
online classified ads they’re more focused and it’s been proven by independent studies
that they get a higher response rate.
You can find numerous ezines to advertise in at the granddaddy of ezine directories;
www.directoryofezines.com. The DOE team have a variety of advertising
packages you can purchase, and in addition to this it’s an excellent resource for
placing your articles. Many of the Ezines listed also accept articles. However, to
access this resource you need to pay a very modest annual membership fee
Does Your Headline "Grab" Their Attention?
The sole objective of a headline is to get the reader to keep reading.
Whether it’s an article, a sales letter, an ezine ad or just
the subject heading in an email, the objective of the headline is to get the reader to
read more than just the headline. Its purpose is to get them to read the next ‘bit’.
Your headline is a sales tool that sells the rest of the article to the reader.
So what makes a headline an attention grabber?
Let’s look at 4 elements within a headline that will “grab” the reader’s attention, and
keep them reading.
1. Ask the reader a question
If you ask a question in your headline the reader will be more inclined to get an
answer to the question by continuing to read. The reader becomes intrigued. This
prompts them to read on. Asking a question is one of the best ways to ‘grab’ the
reader’s attention.
2. Use Inverted Commas
Use inverted commas around a single word, such as I have done with the word
“grab”… or around a group of words…or even the whole headline. The inverted
commas themselves actually highlight something that the reader can latch on to. If
you had ten headlines and one used inverted commas in it, then it’s more likely it
would be the most read headline.
There is another benefit in using inverted commas around the whole heading. It often
means that in an alphabetical listing of headlines you will be near the top. This is
because inverted commas come before the letter “A”.
3. Capitalize the First Letter of Each Major Word in the Headline
Capitalizing each ‘major’ word in the headline grabs the
reader’s attention. However do not capitalize every word, such as ‘a’, ‘the’, ‘of’, ‘to’,
‘on’, ‘in’ and ‘an’ unless they’re the first word of the headline. It’s unnecessary.
Take a look at the ‘headline’ above (Point 3.) The words ‘the’, ‘of’ and ‘in’ are not
capitalized. Let’s see what this headline would look like if they were:
Capitalize The First Letter Of Each Major Word In The Headline
See how capitalizing each word reduces the impact of the headline. It just does not
impress as much. There is no distinction between the words. The ‘major’ words do not
stand out as much.
However, in the headline (Point 3) the main (selling) words stand out more because
they’re separated by the not so important words:
Capitalize
First Letter
Each Major Word
Headline
4. Use powerful words
“Grab” is a powerful word. So is “Free”. Even “Powerful” is a powerful word for that
matter. Use at least one or two powerful words in your headline. These powerful
words will draw in the reader’s attention and prompt them to keep on reading.
These 4 techniques will help you to write better headlines. When you get the headline
wrong there is no use in writing the article, the ezine ad or the sales letter. However,
get the headline right and you’re half way to making the sale or obtaining a new ezine
subscriber.
A Guide to Creating Your Own Affiliate Newsletter
Want to publish your own affiliate newsletter?
It is something that you should think about doing. This is not something you need to
publish every day or even every week. Publish it once a month if you want.
And it is so easy to do, as it’s all done by email.
Publishing your own affiliate newsletter is a great way to get your message across and
to keep people informed about your web site. You can update people on your affiliate
programs, any changes that have taken place at your site, and any new ideas or
articles.
Also you can do ad swaps with other newsletters. This is actually a really good way of
marketing your affiliate
programs. You do an ad swap with another newsletter and place an ad for one of your
affiliate programs in their newsletter. I have had very good results using this
technique.
But isn’t it a lot of work to publish a newsletter?
Not really.
Let’s say you publish your affiliate newsletter
once a month. You could have a couple of articles that you or someone else has
written as well as some information about any changes made to your web site. You
could also include information on a new affiliate program that you’ve recently joined
and offer your opinion about it.
Then as an additional marketing tool you can publish each of your newsletters on a
separate page of your web site. This enables people to have a look at your newsletter
before they decide to sign up.
To get people to sign up to your newsletter need not be
difficult task either. You could just ask them to send you a blank email or an email,
which includes the word ‘Subscribe’ in the subject heading.
Some of the most important things to consider here is to make sure that your
newsletter is professional, that it invokes trust with your subscribers and that it has
NO SPELLING MISTAKES. I’ve received newsletters in the past that were riddled
with spelling mistakes and the first thing I did was unsubscribe. Poor spelling means
poor attitude.
And, that’s another thing. Make sure it’s easy for subscribers to UNsubscribe. Put a
message at the bottom of each newsletter giving them the option to unsubscribe. The
message could be to simply send an email to you with ‘Unsubscribe’ included in the
subject heading. Of course, if you’re using an automated mailing system this will
handle these unsubscribes automatically.
One final thing…TRUST.
If you can build trust at your site then you will get more subscribers. People want to
be able to trust you before they give you their email address.
Tell your visitors before they subscribe that their email
address will never be sold or given away to anybody, under any circumstances. People
are very concerned about spam and the last thing they want is a whole lot of junk
email because you gave their email address away.
So think seriously about starting your own affiliate newsletter. You can publish it as
frequently or as infrequently as you like. It is a great marketing tool for your affiliate
programs.
Put Your “Resource Box” on Autopilot
If you write articles then you’ll also need to include a resource box. Have you thought
much about what to put in your resource box?
If not, then you should. It is probably the most important part of your article!
Here are three different techniques to use with your resource box to maximize its
selling potential. Remember, a resource box is a call to action. You want your reader
to take some action. That action should be to either to send you an email or to visit a
specified web site.
Your resource box can prompt a reader of your article to…
1. Subscribe to your Newsletter
Write a couple of different resource boxes that promote subscription to your
newsletter. Make sure you have sign up instructions, a link back to your web site (so
they can sign up there if they want to) and try to give something away for free as an
incentive for signing up. Telling your visitor that they’re going to get something for
free when they sign up is a great way of encouraging people to subscribe. All this
information needs to go in your resource box, so make it concise and catchy.
2. Sell Something
Got something to sell?
Tell everyone about it in your resource box. Make sure you include a link back to the
particular page on your site where you sell the product or service. Make it as easy as
possible for them to purchase. Also make sure you include your email address in the
resource box so people can contact you for further information.
3. Promote Your Affiliate Program
If you are in an affiliate program, you can promote it in your resource box. Have a
link to the product or service itself, or better still, provide a link back to your web site
that then redirects to the affiliate program site. You will need to set up a separate page
to do this.
However, make sure the affiliate program site you are promoting ties in with the
content of your article.
The resource box is a powerful, yet under-used marketing tool. By using a number of
pre-written resource boxes in these three key areas you can put your resource box on
autopilot, and market yourself in three different ways.
This will mean more traffic, more subscribers, and more sales and affiliate
commissions.
Chapter 5 – AFFILIATE MARKETING
TECHNIQUES
Tips for Writing Articles To Promote Yourself
Writing articles is an excellent way to promote yourself, your web site and your
affiliate programs. Here are some helpful tips for writing articles on the Internet.
1. Use lots of white space in your articles. People like to read on screen information
in ‘chunks’, so always use lots of space.
2. Use short paragraphs. Following on from tip 1 keep it short and let your visitor
read little pieces of information at a time.
3. Use the occasional exclamation mark (!) to get your readers attention. But please
do not overuse this, as many people now appear to be doing.
4. Ask a question so that your visitor will read on to find the answer. This focuses the
attention of the reader.
5. Put a lot of thought and effort into your heading. If the heading does not get the
visitors attention straight away then they will just move on and not even read your
article. Here’s an example:
Try ‘The 7 success secrets of breeding Cane Toads’ rather than ‘How to breed cane
toads’.
6. Use bullets to quickly outline a number of points that may be important in your
article. Readers can scan through these.
7. Use numbers, if this is appropriate in the article. For example the way I am writing
this article.
8. Outline the benefits to your reader. They want to know what they can get out of
reading the article so portray the benefits of what you are writing about.
9. Do not waffle. This is never more important than on the Internet. People get bored
quickly and there are a million other articles they could be reading instead of yours.
Get to the point quickly, in the very first line!
10. Target your article. Make it on one topic only and stick to the topic. Do not try to
write about 2 or 3 things in the same article. Keep your focus on one topic to keep the
interest of your reader.
11. Conclude with a strong message. A message that summarizes your article or gets
your reader to take further action.
12. Be humble. People admire people who are humble. And, never talk down to your
readers.
Learn as much as you can about writing on the Internet. It’s a different form of writing
than that used in the offline world. Read as many articles as you can. Study those that
you find easier to read. Find out why, and then duplicate the techniques used.
How to Market Your Free Articles with No Money
What? You mean that you’ve written these great, informative, valuable articles and
now you have to market them! Surely if they’re free, people will just come and read
them.
Ah, the Internet.
Thou shalt market, market again… and then market some more on the Internet. It does
not matter if you’re selling a product or service, or giving your information away for
free. You still have to market your stuff.
Otherwise no one will find you to read your excellent articles or content.
These twp free marketing techniques will help increase the readership of your articles.
1. Newsgroups.
With google groups, newsgroups are suddenly easier to use and easier to post to.
Google groups are basically newsgroups in html form.
Here’s a quick action plan for getting your article read by people in newsgroups.
Go to  www.groups.google.com
and search for groups related to your topic. Either search using the search box or by
manually scrolling through the newsgroups. If you’re familiar with newsgroups there
may already be some groups you know you can post to.
Select about 12 groups related to your topic and monitor these groups for the next 2
weeks to get a feel for the group. Then after this time, if appropriate, post a message
offering your free article.
Include a link back to your web site where your free article is located.
2. Signature Files
A signature file or ‘sig file’ is a message that you include at the bottom of your email.
For example one of my simple sig files is:
Regards
David McKenzie
www.brisney.com
The sig file does one important thing. It tells people who receive an email from me
who I am, and how to find out more about me. By having a link back to my web site
people are inclined to click on that link.
You can also use your sig file to give away your free articles.
For example:
Regards
David McKenzie
For a free article on writing articles on the Internet go to
www.brisney.com/internet-writing.htm
This way people can go to your web site and read your free article.
These are just two of many free marketing techniques available to you to market your
free articles. Use them and you will increase the readership of your articles.
How To Sell Through Other People’s Articles
When you join a high quality affiliate program the affiliate program operator will
provide you with many different promotional tools.
As well as traditional banners, these might include text links, ezine ads, interactive
banners, buttons, sig files, and others.
Sometimes they will even give you their own articles.
The best thing about using THEIR articles is that you can have an affiliate link in the
resource box at the end of the article.
A smart way to use the affiliate link in the resource box is to “hide” your affiliate link
code.
How do you do this?
There are two ways to do this, the 2nd way is the more advanced.
(Note: The example uses the current information from the
www.1sthomebasedbusiness.com affiliate program)
These two examples assume that the affiliate program operator has not put your
affiliate code in place.
1. Partially hidden affiliate link
http://hop.clickbank.net/?xxxxx/brisney”>
www.1sthomebasedbusiness.com
For this affiliate program you would replace “xxxxx” with your own affiliate link
code.
What this link will now show is
www.1sthomebasedbusiness.com on your web page AND the affiliate link
‘behind it’. You cannot see the affiliate link directly but place your mouse over it and
it will show up.
This is a partially hidden affiliate link.
2. Fully hidden affiliate link
Here, I will put in some additional code, which prevents the visitor from viewing the
code when the mouse is placed over the affiliate link. Your code will now look like
this:
http://hop.clickbank.net/?xxxxx/brisney” OnMouseOver=
”window.status=’www.1sthomebasedbusiness.com’;
return true” OnMouseOut=”window.status=’’” title=
www.1sthomebasedbusiness.com
Now when you place the mouse over the affiliate link you cannot see the code.
Why is this so important?
Well, when your visitor is reading the article (including the resource box), it just looks
neater and more professional. There is nothing worse than looking at a long affiliate
link. In the example the affiliate code is still there, it’s just ‘underneath’.
Using other people’s articles to sell products and services through affiliate programs
means you are using one of the most powerful marketing tools that are available to
affiliates.
I know. I do it and it works!!
How to Create Redirect Pages for Affiliate Links
As an affiliate I use affiliate links throughout my web site, in emails and in other
online promotions. These affiliate links are usually long and have numbers or words
to identify the affiliate.
As well as using these ‘direct’ affiliate links I have also
used redirect pages (or what I might call ‘indirect’ affiliate links) on my web site as
well. These are blank web pages with the sole purpose of redirecting the visitor to the
affiliate page.
I recently did a comparison between direct affiliate links and redirect pages and the
results were astounding!
The redirect pages outperformed direct affiliate links about 2 to 1 when placed in the
same position on my web site. This meant twice as many people were clicking the
indirect affiliate link as were clicking the direct affiliate link.
Why?
I have no idea about the logic behind this but it appears that visitors are less inclined
to click a link when they know it is an affiliate link. It seems that they would rather
“buy direct.”
I must admit I do not think like this. Many times I’ve bought via affiliate links but I
guess I’m an affiliate, so perhaps I think differently to people who are not affiliates.
So if redirect pages work so well, how do you create one?
It’s simpler than you may think.
First, create a new web page on your site. Just leave it as a blank page.
Then just put the following piece of code between the header tags:
www.myaffiliatelink.com”
You will need to replace the URL “myaffiliatelink.com” with your own affiliate
program link.
If you are promoting five different affiliate programs you’ll need to set up five
separate pages…one page for each affiliate link.
Now you can use each redirect page link in your promotions instead of an elongated
affiliate link.
When someone clicks on your redirect page link the following two things happen:
1. They’ll be taken to your redirect page, which is a blank page. This lasts a few
seconds.
2. The command in your header tag then forwards the visitor directly to the affiliate
site.
The best thing about redirect pages is they do not look like affiliate links. They just
look like normal pages. For those people who DO have a problem buying through
affiliate links, they are unaware that the redirect page is actually an affiliate link.
So, try using re-direct pages for your affiliate own links. I think you’ll be pleasantly
surprised with the results.
Secrets of Using Popup Pages
Many affiliates run their own newsletters, often producing them either once a week, or
once or twice a month. And, if you don’t already run a newsletter, you should.
The constant struggle is to increase subscriber numbers. I know, because this is my
constant struggle.
You’re probably already are very familiar with Popup Pages. But for those who aren’t,
Pop-ups are separate pages that (literally) POP up when you either enter a site or exit
a site.
I have been reluctant to use pop-ups in the past for fear of the backlash that they might
create.
I know many people hate them. In fact some people hate them so much they install
software on their computer to prevent these pop-ups, popping up!
So I struggled on, gaining new subscribers each month and building my ezine. But it
just didn’t seem that I was gaining as many subscribers as I should have?
I had read how some people really lived for pop-ups. They stated they increased their
subscriber numbers and/or sales dramatically.
Anyway, a few months ago I thought, “Oh heck, I’ll give these pop-ups a shot.”
WOW !! [Is a complete understatement of my reaction to the results.]
I set up a simple popup on my home page for subscribers to subscribe to my free
twice-monthly newsletter for affiliates.
The first month my subscriber uptake increased 366%. The second month my
subscriber uptake increased a whopping 600%!
And all this was because I’d put a very simple popup on my home page, which only
pops up when people leave my site.
But guess what else happened?
Since I’ve put up the popup page I have not received one single complaint. Not one!
Now, this doesn’t mean that I’m going to put dozens of pop-ups all over my site.
On the contrary. From my own research it seems that people generally do not mind
one simple popup page about a quarter to a third of the size of a normal page. It’s
when these pop-ups get out of control that people get angry.
You have all probably seen those pages where another three full pages popup
immediately behind the site you’ve just landed on. Quite frankly these types of sites
would annoy just about anybody.
However, one simple popup page working off the home page to get visitors to
subscribe to my newsletter has worked like “magic” for me.
"Don't just Get Sales. Get Affiliates in the 2nd Tier!"
Most affiliates get sales from the respective affiliate
programs they belong to by selling directly to their visitors.
But, what about the 2nd Tier?
Many affiliates programs allow you to sign up affiliates under you so you can earn
commissions from the sales that YOUR affiliates are making. This is commonly
referred to as the 2nd tier.
However, this tier is often ignored.
Many of the most successful affiliates have built a huge 2nd tier with the programs
they promote. They have hundreds of other people all earning commissions for them.
This means they earn a lot of their commissions from these indirect (2nd Tier) sales. It
also means they don’t have to concentrate so much on direct sales. This frees up more
of their time to work on promoting some of their other affiliate programs.
Think about the power of the 2nd tier.
You do one piece of work… getting an affiliate signed up under you in one of your
affiliate programs.
Then each of these affiliates sell the particular product or service separately
themselves. On any sales that they make, you also make a commission.
The commission you make for the 2nd tier is much less than the direct commission.
However, if you have hundreds of affiliates under you, these many small amounts
dwarf the 1st tier (larger) commission amount.
With a 2nd tier system…
If they sell this week.
You get paid.
If they sell next week.
You get paid again.
And if they sell next month.
You STILL get paid.
You get paid each time they get paid.
Some affiliate programs allow you to earn commissions from your affiliates for many
years. So by doing a little work today you can be earning commissions for years to
come from these 2nd tier affiliates.
So do not just sell direct to your visitors. Get your
visitors to become your 2nd tier affiliates as well.
Show them the benefits of joining an affiliate program. Tell them how much money
they could make. Motivate them to sign up as an affiliate under you.
In the long run this strategy will prove to be very successful, and most lucrative for
you.
Don’t forget the 2nd tier. It can be more valuable to you than you think.
Honesty is Lucrative
What is the biggest fear for people on the Internet?
It is probably the fear of losing money, or being taken in by some scam. It is the fear
of having to deal with, or lose their money to dishonest people.
As an affiliate with your own web site you need to take this fear away from your
visitors. You need to be up front and honest with your visitors at all times. You need
to give them a feeling of trust and security whenever they deal with you.
It’s a virtual certainty that most of your visitors will never
buy from you on their first visit. So your objective should be to give them a reason to
come back. A good place to start is by ensuring that your site is honest.
If you are honest and are not telling tall tales on your site, then people will find your
story much more believable. This will mean they’re more likely to return.
When they return they’ll already know that you have an honest site as they established
this on their first visit. On this first visit they’re more likely to dig a little deeper into
your site. They are more likely to become more pro-active.
When they return they might even subscribe to your newsletter if you have one. Then
you have established a relationship.
If you offer a newsletter make sure you tell them you will not give their email address
away to anyone. Then after they have received a few issues of your newsletter they’ll
trust you a bit more.
Now they’re ready to become a sub-affiliate of one of your affiliate programs. Now
you are making money for every sale that they make. Isn’t this the objective for
affiliates? Of course!
By being honest at the very beginning in your first paragraph on your home page,
you’re starting to build a long-term relationship with your visitors.
Another advantage of being honest is that people will recommend your site to others.
And those people will in turn recommend your site to even more people. Suddenly
you have a web site that people feel safe and secure about.
They’re happy to buy from your site.
They’re happy to join affiliate programs from your site, because you’re honest.
Other webmasters will put a link to your site on their site because they believe that
you are a trustworthy online business to deal with. This in turn will bring more traffic.
So next time you think about writing that headline "$30,000 in 30 days Guaranteed"
stop and think. Am I being honest? Will my visitors believe me?
If the answer is no, then start being HONEST. Many dollars over many years is better
than one quick dollar today!

System Overview of MagicSubscribers “Email-Trap” Marketing Technology

Overview:

MagicSubscriber provides the following capabilities to its users:

1. Popup Box Message

Allows you to customize the popup message that appears when a visitor
browses your web page.

2. Subscriptions Collector Email Address

You can define any email address used by MagicSubscriber to send
subscription emails.

Note: If you change the email address where you want to receive
subscription emails, you must re-generate the script code using
MagicSubscriber and update the corresponding web pages that use it.

3. Email Subject

This option allows you to customize the Subject portion of the email that is
sent as a subscription request to your target email address.
For example, you may want to filter out email addresses that are only for
subscription. By default, MagicSubscriber generates a code that makes all
subscription emails come with a subject line: Subscribe Me.
If you use Microsoft Outlook Express, and use a POP3 email address to
collect the email addresses, you can apply a message rule on your
incoming emails and have all emails that come in with this subject line
moved to a specific folder. To apply such rules in your email client

the subject Subscribe Me from any
email address will now be directed to
the Subscription Requests folder in
your Microsoft Outlook Express.

For more information, check the user help in your email client application.

4. Web Page Button Details

This option lets you modify the text and colors of the subscription button
that will appear on the subscription web page. This is done via an inline
CSS code that is generated along with the popup code. To choose from
many different colors click the ‘,,,’ button next to the ‘Default Color’ or
‘Color on mouse over’ field.
This will open up the Window standard color picker for you to choose a
color. When you click OK, its corresponding HEX code can be visible in
the relevant field and you are done.
Generating code with ‘Default Color’ as White and ‘Color on mouse over’
as Orange will give you the following effect:

5. Popup Box Frequency

This option can enforce the frequency of the popup message that comes
up on the web page. This feature relies on browser cookies to set the
popup frequency at client-side. Whenever a visitor browses the
subscription web page, a cookie is set on the visitor’s computer that is
checked on all subsequent visits for the same visitor.
Frequency options include: Having the subscription message popup once
per visit whenever a regular visitor browses your web pages, or setting
the popup message to be displayed every time or weekly, and enabling
the message to spring up after a little delay once the web page is opened
up. As seen, the delay is setup in terms of seconds.

Example:
Let’s say we generate a popup script from MagicSubscriber with the
setting of Popup Box Frequency to Weekly, and embed the generated
code into an HTML webpage. If a new visitor browses the web page
containing the script, a cookie is set on the user’s machine so that
whenever he/she comes to that page again, the script checks to see if a
week has past since the last visit and a popup appears accordingly. If it
has been less than a week, then no popup appears. This option becomes
handy if you want to keep your site with minimum popups for your regular
visitors.

When you move your
mouse cursor over it,
The button changes its
color to orange.
A button would appear
on your webpage that
would be white in
color.

6. Popup Box Trigger

This option enables you to define exactly when to open up the popup box.
It includes setting the popup box to open on entry to the web page or on
exit from the web page or both.
Setting the popup box to ‘On Entry’ will generate a code to spring up the
popup box whenever the web page is opened.
Setting the option to ‘On Exit’ will open up the popup box when the visitor
chooses to close the window or moves off the web page to another web
page in the same browser window.
Both actions are performed by setting the option to ‘Both Entry and Exit’.

7. Script Code Generator

The two buttons here provide the actual functionality of creating or viewing
a sample of the popup message box that would appear on a web page.
You can view the preview of the popup message box via ‘Preview Box’.
This will generate a temporary web page with the message box you will
end up with after setting the different options.
The ‘Generate Code’ button can be used to create the actual popup script
- all custom-made - using your option settings.

8. Header Code

This area provides the script you need to put in the header area of your
HTML web page. All you need to do is:
1. Open the HTML code for the web page you want to have the popup
message box attached to;
2. Click on the ‘Copy Code’ button on the right;
3. Right click anywhere in the area between <HEAD> and </HEAD> tags
in your HTML page and simply Paste the copied script into that
area.
The <HEAD> and </HEAD> tags are found at the topmost section of any
HTML page.

9. Subscription Button Code

This is the code for the Subscription button to appear on your web page.
You need to Copy it and then Paste anywhere inside the HTML code of
your web page. The button will appear on your page where you insert the
code in its HTML.

10. Script Activation Code

This code is required to be put in the <body> tag. Again, simply click on the
‘Copy Code’ button then right click and paste it in your HTML file,
replacing the <body> tag with the newly generated one.
For Advanced users, notice that it actually inserts:
onload:javascript:JS_Confirm();
into the <body> tag. So, if your <body> tag contains more than just <body>,
then you just need to add the above code inside your <body> tag.

Important Note:

You must Copy and Paste all the code generated from Magic Subscriber.
This means the Header Code, Script Activation Code and Button Code as
indicated in the diagram above.

Example:

1- Let’s say we want to generate a popup script for our web page:
2- We open Magic Subscriber, configure the desired settings and generate
the code:
3- Then we edit our web page with an HTML editor, such as Microsoft
FrontPage, and view the HTML code. As per instruction, we paste the first
portion of the code, the Header code, at the top of the HTML inside the

<Head> and </Head> tags as shown:

4- We follow the second instruction and put the Button Code where we want
the subscription code to show up in the web page:

5- Finally we add the Script Activation Code in the <body> tag which is
usually located at the top region of your HTML source:

Note:

You may find that the HTML <body> tag contains more than just <body> in
it e.g:

<body bgcolor='#FCFCFC' text="#000000" leftmargin="0"
topmargin="0" marginwidth="0" marginheight="0">

If this is the case you need to insert the code
onload="javascript:JS_Confirm();"
within the <body> tag so that your resulting body tag looks like:
<body onload="javascript:JS_Confirm();" bgcolor='#FCFCFC'
text="#000000" leftmargin="0" topmargin="0" marginwidth="0"
marginheight="0">

To apply such rules in your email client
application, check if it supports message rules and follow the instructions
in the Help provided with the application.

Type in the name of the folder

The 10 Key Points of
the Internet Marketing
Master Plan System

Make 100% sure that you know these critical steps
before starting your own Internet business...

Dear Ahmad,

Today, let's take a look at how to set up a Master Plan system.

This article can determine the success or failure of your Internet marketing strategy, so please read it carefully. You see, there is ONE question anyone starting an online business NEEDS to have the answer to:

"How do I make money on the Internet in the fastest, easiest and most effective way? How can I do this while working with what I love and helping the people I like to be associated with?"

The answer is simple. You follow the Master Plan system.

Follow this strategy to the letter and I guarantee you'll be able to live your passion and make a very nice fortune for yourself in the process. The strategy works, and it works well.

Here are the 10 Key Points of the Master Plan:

  1. You must focus on a specific target market that you love and want to work with for life.

This makes it easy for you to stay motivated, it brings you more fulfillment in life, and it lets you make a very nice living in the process. Target a market that you would love to work with, even if you didn't get paid for it. Pick a group of people you can relate to.

  2. Your goal and the purpose of your business should be to help your customers, not take their hard-earned money and run.

That's useless in the long term, and if you've been thinking about it you might as well drop the project. Please make sure that you understand this universal truth deeply enough. If you do have a sincere desire to help your customers, everybody wins and you'll be a lot more successful.

  3. Your main goal is to build a big database of lifetime customers from your market who trust you, feel grateful to you and value your recommendation.

A one-time sale is worthless. A good relationship with loyal customers is worth a fortune. That's the most valuable thing any business can have. The key here is to build your large list of "lifetime customers who trust you" - Achieve this and you're set for life.

  4. You do this by selling your prospects something that solves their common problems and helps them achieve their dreams.

It doesn't have to be a full-length book, it doesn't have to be complicated, but you must have your own product to build this relationship. Reselling someone else's stuff is not enough. Giving something away is not enough. By having your customers pay YOU for the solution, you will gain their trust right away and they will listen to you from there on. This is what we call your front-end product, and it must be great. It must make your customers extremely satisfied.

  5. You need to create a proven, optimized sales process and automate as much as possible.

You need a powerful sales letter that converts the maximum number of prospect to paying customers. If you don't want to lose money, it's vitally important that you TEST each step of your sales process to reach the best results. You need to test the effectiveness of your sales letter, your ads, your price and your back-end strategy. Once you know which ones are winners you can easily optimize your results and pyramid your profits.

  6. You should start a reseller program and let other business owners recommend your product to their lists.

Many have a great relationship with a lot of people, and you can tap into that relationship. All you have to do is contact these business owners personally and offer to make a joint venture deal where you split the profits. Many will be thrilled to accept your offer, and it will bring you a ton of new customers in a very short time.

  7. You want to build your valuable lifetime customer database fast and free.

You can do this in several ways, but there are a few easy methods that you should combine: free publicity, viral marketing, joint venture deals and advertising on a large scale. The key here is that as long as you break even or make a profit on the first sale, you can basically build your database of loyal customers as large as you want instantly and for free. From there on it's all profits.

  8. From here on you simply continue to build your relationship with your customer list by helping them solve their problems and achieve their goals.

Do this by recommending information, products and services that will help your customers. All you have to do is create joint ventures and reseller agreements with other business owners to make money in the process - you split the profits. This is your back-end strategy, and this is where you make the REAL money.

  9. Always, always over-deliver on your promises. Take extremely good care of your clients and subscribers.

Treat them like you would treat your best friend. Again, your main goal here is not just to "make money", but to actually HELP your clients. Never recommend a product to them that you wouldn't recommend to your best friend. Keep their interests in mind always and satisfy their needs and wants. Do this and you must succeed.

  10. Continue with this process from here on and you'll make a fortune.

Keep selling your front-end product to add new lifetime customers to your list for free. Keep helping them reach their ultimate goals by recommending additional good, related products. You'll make a very nice living and enjoy life to the fullest, all while doing what you love. And you'll make a lot of new friends in the process.
