Wow, its been a month since I have posted anything, mainly due to me being so damn tired all of the time. Anyway alot has happened since my last post, I have experienced the wonders of the final volume of Gunslinger Girl, begun watching Fullmetal Panic, bought many other DVDs but probably my favourite purchase recently has to be the first 2 volumes of MADLAX, which is an absolutely fantastic series.

Today my copy of Kodocha Vol.1 (+ Artbox) arrived, which I have just finished watching.
Sana Kurata may be a famous TV star, but her life is anything but perfect! Her classroom at school is controlled by the boy bullies, all of whom are led by the nasty Akito and his gang of hooligans, who are at it again, wreaking havoc in the classroom. But has Sana discovered Akito’s secret weakness? Will she be able to exploit it to her advantage or will she just make a fool of herself in front of everyone? Sana had better be cautious because when she acts on her plan the consequences aren’t exactly what she expected! What adventures await our heroine? Find out on Kodocha!

Review:
I found this first DVD hilarious and extremely energetic. The story of this anime focuses on young 'super star' Sana and her arch-nemesis Akito (a boy who I found slightly irritating). The animation may looking slightly dated but the fast and hyperactive pace of the storying telling ad the show itself make up for it. I also found Sana sudden out burst of singing in each episode very funny and something to look forward to in each new episode. The character Sana is played by Laura Bailey in the English dub, who Fruits Basket fans will remeber as Torhu, however Fruits Basket will also notcie several other members of that cast appearing in this series, due to both being dubbed by Funimation. The extras included on the DVD are not the best (Audio Commentary, Profiles and Trailers) although I did find that the commentary was very amusing. Fans of Fruits Basket will love this, as I did, and will be eager to see the next volume. I rate the first volume of this anime 8/10.
As well as this, my copy of Tenjho Tenge Vol.2 also arrived, which I have yet to watch.
Maya decides to break up the Juken Club's combat training camp with a recreational trip to the bowling alley. Unfortunately, the Executive council takes advantage of their relaxation by sending all of their main Executioners to attack! How will the Juken club handle the combined might of the Council's army and its elite members?!
DVD Features: Clean closing animation.

Berserk

Leading the rogue soldiers known as the Band Of The Hawk, Griffith wields his formidable force like no other. Driven by a quest for status, The Hawks exert military and social prowess the likes of which never been seen before.The armies of Midland will quake with fear as Griffith and Guts set off on a path that will bring the world to its knees.
Berserk is one of the greatest aniume series ever created, it will emerse the viewer into a land of blood, gore, harsh realities, friendship and betrayal. Also with one of the most shocking and unbelievable endings ever, not only will you be dying for more but also shocked at the turn of events. This anime must be seen, no question about it.

Elfen Lied
After escaping from a maximum security government testing facility, Lucy, a Diclonius, is shot in the head and falls into the sea, she loses her memory and winds up on a nearby beach next to a small town. It's there that she meets Kouta and Yuka, cousins that are attending the local university together, but is this the first time she's met these two people...? The cousins take her into their home and look after her, all the while she's being hunted down by government special forces, and other Diclonius's. However with Lucy constantly switching personas, the ruthless killing machine and the harmless 'Nyu', are Kouta and Yuka really safe?
Elfen Lied combines heart-breaking and tragic characters, slick animation, an incredible soundtrack and bloody gore. This series should not be missed as it is truely incredible.

Gunslinger Girl
Having survived the brutal slaughter of her family, Henrietta awakens to her new life at the Agency with a re-built body and no memory of her past. She has been teamed up with her handler Jose, who is responsible for her training and conditioning, turing her into the perfect killing machine. Henrietta strives to find her place within the agency, doing her best to win Jose's affections. But can Jose control her? Can he balance the needs and desires between the assassin and the developing adolecent? Who are these girls? They've been given a second chance at life... But at what cost?
Gunslinger Girl is a truely moving yet action packed drama about several young girls brought into a cold and harsh agency. The animation is excellent as is the soundtrack. The dub is also extremely well done, by Funimation, and the short series (13 episodes) is truely not to be missed.

Fruits Basket
The Sohma Family is cursed. When a member of the family is embraced by a member of the opposite sex, they transform into an anime of the chinese zodiac! The Sohmas managed to keep the curse a secret until Tohru Honda stumbles across the home of Yuki and Shigure Sohma. After her mother died and her grandfather asked her to stay with a friend while construction took place in their house, Tohru found herself living in a tent. However after she was found by Yuki and Shigure she was insisted on staying with and along with Kyo and many other Sohma Family members, Tohru Honda strives to finbd out the secrets behind the Sohma family.
Fruits Basket has to be one of my all time favourites, its touching, funny, mysterious and energetic with some of the most incredible characters and animation ever. The story is superb and each character has his or her own interesting characteristics and backstory. Anyone who hasn't seen this anime must. It truely is one of the greatest series ever!
