Harvard drops Dutch 3-2

Two third period Harvard goals lifted the Crimson to a 3-2 win Saturday night at the Achilles Center. Alex Meintel tied the game at two when he put home a rebound with 7:30 left to play during a four on four. Biega came down the right wing and fired a shot on Mrazek who turned it aside, but Meintel was waiting for the rebound and fired it past Mrazek. Three and a half minutes later Pelle flipped a puck over a sprawled out Mrazek, who had doven in hopes of covering up the puck, to put the Crimson up for good. Josh Coyle took a penalty with two minutes remaining ending any rational hopes of an extra attacker goal.

After Harvard took a 1-0 lead only 30 seconds into the game, Union seemingly out played Harvard for the next 45 minutes. Josh Coyle scored on a PP wrist shot from the left circle to knot the game at one early in the second. Union again scored when TJ Fox found the back of the net about midway through the second. Six and a half minutes after Fox had made it 2-1, Union had a 5 on 3 opportunity to increase their lead but failed to do so. Kyle Richter turned aside 30 shots for Harvard. Justin Mrazek was also solid in the net with 26 saves.
