It’s that time of year again. Homeowners wanting to get outside, clean-up their yards and dispose of unwanted materials by burning. For your convenience we have posted the Burn Ordinances for both Manchester Borough and East Manchester Township. If you decide to burn, and it is permitted under the burn ordinance, please use caution. If you ignite a fire and it gets out of control, spreads to another property causing damage or destruction, you are liable for the damage and the cost of extinguishment.
All permitted fires must be attended by an adult at all times. DO NOT burn during windy or dry conditions. DO NOT use flammable liquids to start your fire, serious burns may result. Have a rake, shovel, garden hose or bucket of water at the ready in case the fire gets out of control.
Click on the appropriate municipality below to view the burn ordinance.
The Northeastern Municipalities Emergency Management Agency, serving Manchester Borough, Mt. Wolf Borough and East Manchester Township, is in need of volunteers.

The Agency is seeking community minded individuals who are not currently active in other Emergency Services (Fire/Rescue, Law Enforcement or Emergency Medical Services). Training is free! Interested persons should call the Manchester Borough Office at 266-1022 or the East Manchester Township Office at 266-6735, during normal business hours.
