Remembering Pamela A. Wilson---The Memorial Scholarship Fund
Do you remember the Shades of Color Conference, Black Student Visitation Program, the Peer Mentor Program and Brother-to-Brother (among other programs)? Do you remember the UNCG Office of Minority Student Affairs before it became the Office of Multicultural Affairs? If you can answer "yes" to any of these questions, then you certainly remember Ms. Pam Wilson.
Pamela A. Wilson served as an advocate, mentor, colleague, sister, mother, and friend to countless Spartans. Pam came to UNCG in 1982 and touched many lives during her tenure as Director of Multicultural Affairs before passing away suddenly on March 5, 2002. UNCG has established a scholarship fund to honor Pam’s tireless energy and unwavering commitment to helping UNCG students learn to respect and value diverse cultures. For several years a UNCG student has received assistance from the scholarship fund. We can only imagine Pam’s delight in knowing that UNCG students were able to buy their books, pay part of their housing, or simply eat due to the receipt of money from this fund.
At this time, we need your help to continue honoring Pam through this scholarship effort. The goal is to endow the scholarship fund so that it is a permanent source of assistance for worthy UNCG students.
The Pamela A. Wilson Memorial Scholarship is not only Pam’s legacy but ours as well. It’s often said that “we have not because we ask not.” At this time, we are asking. Please make a donation in memory of Pam and in the expectation and hope for future graduates who will continue her legacy.
If you would like to make a direct contribution to this scholarship fund make checks payable to “UNCG Excellence Foundation”, write “Pam Wilson Scholarship Fund” in the memo line and mail to:
