The Priest is not an angel sent from heaven;
he is a man chosen from among men, and a member of the Church, a Christian.
Remaining human and Christian, he begins to speak to us the Word of God.
This Word is not his own. No, he comes to us because God has told him to proclaim God’s Word.
Perhaps he has not entirely understood it himself. Perhaps he adulterates it.
But he believes;
and despite his fears, he knows that he must communicate God’s Word to us.
For must not some of us say something about God, about eternal life….must not some of us speak of sin and the love and mercy of God?

To all of my fellow Bambanenses, I will be celebrating my Thanksgiving Mass on the 11th of June (Trinity Sunday) at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish Church , 9 in the morning. That will be two weeks after my ordination. Joven, my fellow ordinandus, and I agreed to have his Thanksgiving Mass first (on the 4th of June in Libon, Albay).
I hope to meet relatives, old friends, teachers from both the Banaba Elementary School and Sto. Niño Academy. Please join me as I thank our townmates for accompanying me in my journey towards priesthood. Allow me also to mention the generosity of the Circulo Bambanense for the financial help they extended to me when I was still a college seminarian.
See you in Dapdap!!! |
