UMSC Club News!!!!!

Boys U14 Red Strikers Are National Club Champions!

Congratulations to The Strikers for winning the Gold Medal at the Nationals by defeating British Columbia 3-1.
This is the 1st time that a UMSC Competitive Team wins a Gold Medal at the Nationals, having won the Silver Medal in 2003 with the U18 Boys, and the club is truly proud with this team's achievement. Well done players, coaches, managers and parents!  The Strikers reached the Gold Medal round by defeating North West Territories 18-0, New Foundland 9-0 and New Brunswick 5-0 in the group games and then defeated Alberta 4-0 in the Semi Final match.
The team's record at the championship is 5-0 with 39 goals for and 1 goal against.
The National Champions capped a memorable season having already won the OYSL League Title and  the Ontario Cup this year.

Keep track of the UMSC 2000 Team, as we are poised to follow in the U14's footsteps.  Our goal is to develop the best soccer players in Canada, and we are well on our way!!!  If you are interested in joining our team, please read the info below on Tryouts and Team Contacts.

Boys 2000 TEAM INFO

May 4th, 2009

Welcome to the home page of the Unionville Milliken Boys 2000 RED Strikers and WHITE Strikers.  We are a group of enthusiastic and very talented soccer players who have a passion for the beautiful game!

This year both the Boys 2000 RED and Boys 2000 WHITE teams will be playing in the York Region Soccer League (YRSL).  Throughout the winter, the boys have been working very hard on their game.  We have been training several times a week and have also played in a Futsol league.

For the upcoming outdoor soccer season, the boys will be playing U9 in the York Region Soccer League.  Our playing nights will be on Thursdays.  Practice nights will be announced soon.  Please click on either B2000 RED TEAM or B2000 WHITE TEAM for information on schedules, tournaments, etc.

Looking for a great soccer team?

The UMSC BU9 teams have just completed their formal tryouts and we could not be happier with the teams we have put together.  The UMSC BU9 Red and White teams look ready to take on York Regions best this summer.  The boys have been working very hard this indoor season and can't wait to play outdoors.

Even though our teams are pretty much set, we are always looking for new players who have what it takes to play at the highest level.  If your son has a passion for soccer, and is looking to play on a top soccer team, them please contact me to discuss.

Sincerely,

Martin Himelson

DANNY DICHIO THORNHILL TOURNAMENT - CHAMPIONS and Semi Finalists!

On September 14th, the Boys 2000 RED and WHITE took part in a 5v5 tournament hosted by Danny Dichio.  The Boys 2000 Strikers RED were the gold medalists, while the Boys 2000 WHITE were the bronze medalists.  The boys demonstrated their excellent passing and control of the ball.  They executed some increadible passing plays and many other coaches and tournament organizers came to watch their semi final and final game.  The Strikers walked away with the gold and throughout the tournament outscored their opponents 24-2.

The event was capped off by Danny Dichio, Carl Robinson, and Marco Velez of Toronto FC handing out the medals to the boys and signing autographs.  Congratulations to all the boys for a wonderful tournament and a wonderful summer.

NEWMARKET HEART OF YORK REGION CHALLENGE- B2000 RED - CHAMPIONS!

On August 9th and 10th, the Boys 2000 RED Strikers took part in the Newmarket Heart of York Region Challenge and came away the Champions.  The boys had to play through pouring rain on Saturday and showed their true soccer tallents.  They beat Wexford 4-1, Richmond Hill 4-0, and tied Newmarket Red 2-2 on Saturday to advance to the semi-finals.  In the semi-finals on Sunday they played a tough game against Newmarket White and came away victorious with a 3-2 win.  In the finals the boys played an awsome game and won the tournament with a 8-2 victory over Richmond Hill.

Great work by all the boys!

OSHAWA KICKS FRANK SOBIL CLASSIC - FINALISTS!

On May 10th and 11th, the Boys 2000 RED Stikers took part in the Frank Sobil Classic held in Oshawa.  The boys had to play through a strong wind and cool conditions, but never once did they complain.  They demonstrated their talents and won their first four games against Darlington, North Toronto White, North Toronto Green, and Ajax.  Having scored 11 goals and only giving up 2, the boys entered the final game against Erin Mills.  The boys played with heart and determination, but fell to a much rested Erin Mills Team in the Final.

All the boys displayed great sportsmanship, determination, and came away from the tournament with lasting memories.  Awsome job by all.  We are very proud of all of the players!
