Alors, après presque un an d'attente, des centaines de demandes et supplications. Voici enfin le schéma de ma fameuse spiral. Avec ceci, vous devriez être en mesure de vous débrouillez. Le fond est fait de MDF 66 cm par 66 cm (26'x26') sur lequel j'ai décalqué mon schéma. Je l'ai ensuite gravé à  une profondeur d'environ 5 mm (1/4 ') à  l'aide d'une scie rotative (Dremel), largeur de la gravure, 2.5 mm (1/8 '). La gravure s,est fait à  main levée patiemment.

 

After almost a year of waiting, hundreds of requests and begging, you finally have the schematic to my famous spirals.  With this you should be able to work it out.  The base is made from 66cm by 66cm MDF (26"x26") which I drew my schematic on.  I then grooved it to a depth of approximately 5 mm ( 1/4") with the help of a Dremel (rotary saw?).  The slot was made  of 2.5mm (1/8") wide.  It was hand drawn with a lot of patience.

Ensuite j'ai fait les spirales en aluminium. J'ai pris des rouleaux vendu dans un centre de rénovation, le rouleau fait 15 cm (6 pouces) par 15 mètres (50 pieds). J'ai fait 4 longueurs de 2.45 mètres (8 pieds) Hé oui, le horn fait environ 8 pied de long

 

I then made the spirals out of aluminum.  I bought rolls from a renovation centre.  The roll was 15 cm(6") by 15 meters (50').  I made 4 lengths of  2.45 meters (8').  Yes, the horn was about 8' long.    (Note from Debbie:  If you buy two or more rolls, make sure that they are all the exact same width as someone else had a slight variance and had to hand-cut the second one )

J'ai mis la colle ( de la Weldbounb, plus forte que la colle à  bois et surtout à  prise lente) dans une spirale, très important, une spirale à  la fois, sinon vous êtes mazo. un coup la colle généreusement appliquer, vous installez l'alu en commencent par le centre. J'ai mis des batonnets à  café en bois un peu partout pour rigidifier et tenir l'alu en place. Laissez prendre en vous assurant que l'alu est bien dans la gravure, mettez un bon poid sur le dessus. Continuez le lendemain pour une autre spiral. Vous devriez obtemir ceci.

 

I put the glue (Weldbounb, stronger than wood glue and, mainly because it is long-curing) in a spiral.  Very important:  only do one spiral at a time unless you're a masochist!  Once you have generously applied the glue, you install the aluminum from the center outwards.  I put wood coffee sticks all over to ridgify and hold the aluminum in place.  Let it cure, while making sure that the aluminum is well inserted in the groove and put a solid weight on the top.  Continue the next day with the next spiral.  You should end up with this:



comme vous pouvez voir, à  environ 7.5 cm (3 pouces) dans chaque coin, j'ai fait un trou dans lequel passera un boulon de 20 cm (7.5 pouces) qui serviron à  retenir le fond et le dessus.

 

as you can see, at approximately 7.5 cm (3") in each corner, I made a whole in which a 20 cm (7.5") bolt will hold both top and bottom together. 

Le dessus a été fait en merisier russe, aussi de 66 cm par 66 cm (26'x26') mais vous pouvez prendre du MDF ou autre chose. J' y ai mis le Fostex 103 bien centré, voir la doc du Fostex pour les dimension, j'ai fait les trous dans chaque coin. Entre le fond ayant les spirales et le dessus, j'ai mis un foam de sous tapis, ceci dans le but d'empèché les vibrations de l'alu sur le bois du dessus. Le tout est fixé par les grand boulons, retenuent par des écrous et de contre écrous. Serrez juste assé pour légèrement faire pressison sur l'alu pour qu'il appuit bien sur la plaque du dessus.

 

The top was made out of baltic birch, also of 66cm by 66 cm (26" x 26") but you can use MDF or something else.  I centered the Fostex 103, see the Fostex documentation for the dimension, I made holes in each corner.  Between the bottom holding the spirals and the top, I put an undercarpet foam, to stop the aluminum from vibrating on the wooden top.  Everying is held together with big bolts, held by nuts and counter nuts (??).  Just tighten it enough to lightly put pressure on the aluminum so that it is well levered to the top.

Voici le schéma, arrangez-vous pour que d'un coin à  l'autre (vous voyez les coins en noir) vous devez avoir 66 cm (26 pouces). Certain logiciels vous permettent de reproduire une image étendu sur plusieurs feuilles.

 

Here is the schematic.  Make it so that from one corner to the other (you can see corners in black) you have 66 cm (26").  Certain programs let you reproduce an extended picture on several sheets.



Et ceci est le croquis du dessus avec le schéma de la spirale derriere (on la devine tout au moins, la photo laissant à  désirer...
