Rank Weeks in top 10 Fighter 1. 2 Anderson Silva 2. 2 Georges St.Pierre 3. 2 Quinton "Rampage"Jackson 4. 2 B.J. Penn 5. 2 Fedor Emelianenko 6. 2 Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira 7. 2 Randy Couture 8. 2 Dan Henderson 9. 2 Chuck Liddell 10. 2 Urijah Faber
No changes this week as there has been no MMA action apart from Yamma Pit Fighting, but no one who fought is in top 10 p4p. As I dont have much to write about I will comment on each fighters situation in the top 10, and how safe their spot is.
1.Anderson Silva- I cant see Anderson moving anywhere through his own matches. His quality of opposition needs to stay high though. He has been on a great run recently, Franklin twice, Marquadt, Lutter, Leben and Henderson. Would like to see him fight and beat Okami and Chonan to avenge his losses.
2. Geores St. Pierre - If GSP beats Serra I cant see what would be keeping him from the number one spot, as he has no one left to beat in the WW division.
3. Rampage beating Forrest, Jardine and Machida would be a real achievement. He would be pressing the two men ahead of him.
4. B.J Penn is hanging in there with the skin of his teeth. His natural ability is very high, but whether his condition can be proven world class is still a question. If he beats Sean Sherk he will have deserved his place. If he beats GSP in a rumoured match then BJ will rocket up the rankings.
5. Fedor needs to demolish Tim Sylvia in their match to stand a chance of staying in the top 5.
6. Big Nog needs the quality of opponent to stay number 6. With Randy, Fedor, Tim and possibly Arlovski all gone from the UFC I can imagine Big Nog following suit, just to get the big names. A fight with Brandon Vera would be good.
7. Like Nog, Rnayd Couture needs to face Fedor or another big name and face them fast. If he doesnt fight someone by the end of the year I will consider him as retired.
8. Henderson needs some wins to keep his place. 185 or 205 are both fine by me.
9. A win over Rashad will just keep him in here. I can see him fighting Machida for a title shot. If he beats Machida Chuck should move up to around the number 6 spot.
10. Faber needs to keep on what he is doing... demolishing 145 pound fighters
