CABIN DIRECTORY

Decks D - F

-  D Deck  -

Standard Suites  /  Chambre de luxe suites

The Standard Suites on D Deck, like those on C Deck come in varying shapes, designs, and sizes. Generally, two-berth cabins come with two floor-to-ceiling wooden wardrobe cabinets with lower drawers, a wooden dressing table with six drawers, a spacious desktop for writing, and a large headboard that would open to a three-paneled mirror. Lighting is provided by bulbs, heating by a wall-based heater, and cooling by an electrical fan a top an ionic capital mounted on the wall.  On the Imperator, D Deck contained the largest spread of First Class cabins on the entire ship. The two main hallways run uninterrupted for approximately 450 feet from under the bridge all the way back to just behind the last funnel.

-  E Deck  -

Standard Suites

Standard Suites on E Deck are indentical to those on C Deck and D Deck. Passengers with cabins on E-deck would have surely found their location to be a convenient one as it had the entrance to the upper dining room. E-Deck also had a barbershop, the purser's office and the office of the chief steward.

-  F Deck  -

Standard Suites

The last of the Standard Suites aboard the Imperator consist of suites and single-berth cabins on F Deck. Cabins on F Deck are furnished with two metal bedsteads. The beds are separated by a large marble wash basin and vanity mirror which is set between twin curio-style cabinets that come with lower drawers, an upper single pane glass cabinet door with shelves, and a built-in night stand on which sits a decorative lamp. On one-side of the cabinet there is a circular concave mirror (about the size of a salad plate) that swings out on a hinged arm for close make-up inspection or the brushing of teeth.

On F Deck is the entrance to Pompeian swimming pool, and the entrance to the lower level First Class Dining Room. The cabins on this deck extend from just under the bridge and back to between the first and second stack. For F Deck passengers without bathing or toilet facilities in their suites, there are five public baths and public toilets. Passengers on F Deck will surely enjoy the convenience of being just down the hall from a bracing morning swim in the Pompeian swimming bath, or a late evening massage or steam bath before retiring.

Whether you travel in a standard Suite or the Emperor's Suite, we have made every effort to supply our First Class passengers with all the comforts of a fine hotel. In First Class 121 cabins have their own private bath and toilet while another 20 cabins had their own private shower and toilet. Then there were 10 cabins with just a private toilet.

All First Class are fully equipped with electrical connections for light, heat, ventilation, and call bells. In addition to the steam heating system in the Imperial suites and State suites (2 on C Deck and 10 on D Deck), there were electrical heaters.

Between both staterooms and salons in First Class, a telephone service is maintained from a central switchboard so that passengers in these areas can easily talk or call various on-board shops and services.
