The Social Hall / Ballroom
"The Social Hall aboard the Imperator is one of the most sumptuous apartments of its kind in the world."
~ New York Times, 22 June 1913
Located on B Deck, the First Class Social Hall is a richly decorative room that is over two decks high, running from B Deck right up through A Deck to the skylight. It is 74 feet long (23m), 58 feet wide (17 m), and 21 feet high (7 m) with 12-foot high (4m) bow windows. Like so many public rooms aboard the Imperator, there is nothing of this size on any other liner on the Atlantic.
As one of our recent passengers said, "Entering the Social Hall with your lady for an evening of dance and drink is just about the most regal an entrance one will ever make". Indeed they were right.

Looking toward the bow. Through the doors is the Ladies Writing Salon.

Looking aft. Through the doors, and it's a short stroll to the Wintergarden and Ritz Carlton.

The Social Hall also comes with a decorative floral bandstand
The Social Hall is luxuriously appointed with Gobelin tapestries, intricately carved hardwood panels, bronze accents, marble, and woodcarvings of unusual artistic value. Illumination was provided by indirect artificial light from a domed ceiling and plentiful cluster lights that offer passengers with a comforting illumination.
During the evening our courteous staff quickly converts the daytime Social Hall into a spacious ballroom that can seat 100 passengers and just about as many on the hardwood dance floor.

Please join us for a romantic evening
