Meet Our Master Chef: Georges Auguste Escoffier

To make the Ritz Carlton aboard the Imperator of the highest class, Mr. Albert Ballin has hired French master chef, Georges Auguste Escoffier to marshal the Imperator kitchens. Even before the distinguished Auguste Escoffier took assignment aboard the Imperator, he was already a maverick in European cooking circles. During his tenure as head chef at the European famous Carlton Hotel from 1898 to the early 1900s, his innovations in both French cooking and the presentation of food raised the status of chefs from that of laborers to artists. Nightly aboard the Imperator, he sets a new standard on the high seas. On one noted occasion, Escoffier cooked for Wilhelm II who was quoted as saying,
"I am the Emperor of Germany, but you are the Emperor of chefs."
Please note that Mr. Escoffier will transfer to the SS Vaterland in a few months for the maiden voyage of our newest liner. At that time, Mr C. Dienz will be in charge of the Imperator kitchens.
