Tips for beginners

Just started your Ana journey? Take note of these. If you are looking to diet, lose a few lbs, have fun, live in anything else but fear and total hatred of your body then close this window now. Do you hear me? Now.

1. Start slow. These things can't be rushed y'know. The faster you throw yourself into it the more likly it is that you will give up.

2. Start to find out all the calories in food. This really helps with your eating. By knowing what foods are high in and calories and which are not you can figure which foods to eat and which to flee screaming from.
3. Drink lots of water and especially cold as it helps you burn more as your body has to work harder to regain your regular body temperature. Plus it helps with those first hunger pains.

4. Begin an exercise rutine. It good to start early and get into it. Plus building up muscles and getting fitter helps your metabolism speed up and that, my dears, is a VERY good thing.

5. Gather together some thinspiration pics. Pics of skinny models and stuff to keep you triggered.

6. Write all your goals down. Your goal weight etc. Keep these goals close to hand when you want to break the rules.

7. Also remember that you do have to eat sometimes. Not a lot of course but you have to eat something. Make sure you eat at least two things each day.

8. Remember that Ana is not always fun. It can be so awful sometimes you'll want to die. But if this is the path you want to take i'm not going to stop you. I'll support you all i can but you have to do it right. Ensures best results you see. Its an amazing experience, you'll learn alot about yourself but we don't want any accidents do we? There no use being thin if your dead.

Good luck!

Tips for oldies looking to get back into it...
Been in the business for a while? Your are an old pro but latley you just can't seem to lose the weight like you used to? Well fret no more, and put down that cookie because here are my top tips for getting back into the swing.

1. Go to your kitchen right now and throw out all the junk food. Just get RID of it. It shouldn't be there anyway.
2. Read old journals, old diary entires to relieve the feelings you used to get from Ana. Remeber the joyful feeling of watching the scales go down, the smile you wore when you heard your stomach rumble.
3. Write down everything. What you eat, what exercise you do. It'll help you devise a routine that you can fall into easily.
4. Begin a tough exercise routine. It'll help those 'little' pizaa shaped mistakes from being too fatal.
5. Visit Pro Ana sites all the time to fill your head up with all the tip and tricks that you have forgotten.
6. Keep pictures of the skinny you that you used to be close by to look at at weak moments.
7. Keep going! Don't give up after a few days because of one slip up. It takes time to get back into it. But it is possible.

Best of luck!

The Dreaded Fridge

Erggh. How i hate it. I am sure you do too so I will give you my top tips to slam that door straight back in the fridges face!

1. There's food inside the fridge right? Wrong. All thats in the fridge is faliure! Is that what you want?

2. Does Ana want to go in the fridge? No she does not. Its time youy started paying attention to what Ana wants, not what you want.

3. The butter is congeled custard, the meat dead cat (eww) etc etc, Make up gross images for all the foods you snack on.

4. Open the fridge. Look inside. Look at all that food. Is it really that great? You don't need it really do you?

5. The food is sneaky. It is trying to tempting you to eat it and get fat/ter. Try this when your alone: Look at the food and laugh at it. No seriously, try this. Laugh at the food and tell it out loud how stupid it is. Tell it how it can't tempt you and you won't be going anywhere near it. Tell the food you don't need it. This is very helpful when your craving. It helps me all the time.

If all else fails, i hear padlocks are effective ;)

LOADS of Tips

(Thanks to numerous sites for these!)

Make a list of all the "bad" foods that you crave and tend to binge on. Each day, pick one to take out of your diet that you absolutely, no matter what, cannot eat again. Take one off the list each day until there are no more bad foods you can have.

Avoid alcohol! A shot of liquor has 100-120 calories, a glass of wine has 80 calories, a lite beer has 110-120 calories, and a regular beer has 140-170 calories.

Make your work outs more fun, dance to your fave CD, do gymnastics, go skating, etc. Running every day can get really old, plus if you always do the same thing, you have a bigger chance of hitting plateaus.

Never eat anything bigger than about a cup, your stomach will expand and then you'll get hungry more.

It takes twelve hours for the body to start feeding off of ots own fat.

Eat in front of a mirror naked. See how much you can eat then!

Hit your stomach (just not too hard) if it's growling too loudly.

Curl up in a ball if you have hunger pains.

The smell of coffee is suppose to supress appetite.

Wear perfectly applied lip gloss. It makes you more aware of what's going in your mouth. Also, flavored ones help with cravings.

Throw away the foods you think you'll binge on.

When going out, take only the amount of money you'll need. Nothing extra, that way you won't be tempted to spend it on food.

Sitting up straight and having good posture burns 10% more calories than when you slouch.

Have 6 small meals a day. Take 2 apples, and split them so you can make 6 meals out of them. That way your body will be tricked into thinking it's eating more.

Eat what you crave, but in moderation. Only a few bites of it. Enjoy it and eat it slowly.

Low calorie hot chocolate curbs chocolate cravings, and makes you feel full.

Find a buddy onine, and do fasts with them, competitions, or just have someone to email when you're craving.

Take a picture of yourself wearing a bathing suit or something equally revealing, look at it when you want to eat.

Wear a rubber-band around your wrist and snap it against your skin when you are tempted to eat.

Take anti-heartburn pills if you're really hungry. They nuetralize the acid that builds and makes you hungry.

If you eat right before bed, lay on your left side so the food goes through your system faster.

Chew gum if you need to cook so you won't eat any of the food.

Drink a glass of ice cold water every hour, it will make you feel full.

When you get hunger pains curl into a ball, it makes them go away.

It takes 20 minutes for the brain to realize the stomach is full.

When you're hungry chew sugar free gum. Peppermints also help to decrease hunger.

If you're a smoker and hungry, light up a cigarette. It curbs your appetite.

Before you dig into that cake, bag of chips, candy, or whatever, take a deep breath and count to 100. Usually by the time you get to 100 you will have convinced yourself that you don't really want it.

Eat lots of fiber. It makes you feel full and takes fat with it out of your body. The natural cleansing helps improve both your energy level and overall feeling of wellness.

Sleep at least 6 hours a night. Less that 6 hours of sleep a night stimulates appetite by 10-15%.

If you're ever feeling tempted, just remember the 4 D's:
 Distance yourself from the food;
 Distract yourself;
 Delay eating;
Decide what your goals really are.

Caffeine speeds up metabilism. Have at least 2-3 servings a day.

Eat ice cubes, they give you the feel like you're eating something and the coldness can actually burn calories.

When you're hungry chug 2 glasses (or how many you need) of straight water. It'll make you so full and nauseous you will have completely lost your appetite.

Spin in circles, you will be too nauseous to eat.

If you're right handed, eat with your left hand. It will take a lot longer to get the food to your mouth.

If eating any sweets, eat them at breakfast. This way you have the rest of the day to burn them off.

Find something that makes you feel ill or unpleasant and think or look at it as you eat. After a while you make begin to associate food itself with unpleasantness.

Fidgeting burns 500-800 extra calories a day. Suck in your tummy and squeeze your buns, bounce your legs, sway side to side, swing your feet, ect.

Studies show that the more food you're given, the more food you eat.

Celery actually burns calories. Every hour eat a stalk of it. Not only will it fill you up, but it will also get your metabolism kickin'.

Take a shower. Hot steamy water can suppress your appetite and paying close attention to your body will remind you exactly why you're losing weight in the first place.

When eating, put down your silverware or sip water in between each bite. Your stomach will feel full faster and you are less likely to overeat.

If you don't already, drink diet soda's instead of regular soda. Pepsi One had no calories and tastes like a regular Pepsi. They can also bloat your stomach, making you less hungry.

Drink at least two quarts of water each day. This helps control your appetite. Sometimes a feeling of hunger is actually thirst. Additionally, water is necessary to carry away the breakdown byproducts of fat. Carry a little sport bottle at all times. If you feel hungry, take a drink.

Chew every bite at least thirty times. Your food will taste better and you will be much more satisfied. Don't swallow until all the flavor is gone from of each bite.

Pay attention to when and what you are eating. Ask yourself: "Do I really want to eat this?"

Weigh yourslef before and after every time you eat. Not only will it eliminate unnecessary eating, but it will make you want to eat less when you see the numbers creep up.

This tip will only work if you live alone or live with someone who dieting (or just doesn't care). Find pictures of overweight people and put them in various places around your house...put some near the tv, to remind you to exercise, put some near the trigger foods (you know the ones) to remind you that that is how you will look if you eat that. If you are living with someone on a diet they will most likely agree to this if you tell them its a proven fact that it helps weight loss.

When dining out, no matter what the waiter says about the fat or calorie content of food assume everything is covered with butter, even the silverware.

Plan your day; Try to decide what you will eat and when, so you don't have to discover after the fact that you have gone over your calorie limit.

Read the nutritional information. Remember, fat-free does not mean calorie-free. Also keep an eye on fiber content. Get as much fiber into your diet as you can, while cutting fat and calories.

Get more exercise. On top of working out or dancing or whatever you do, increase your daily exercise other ways. Take stairs instead of elevators or escalators. Walk your dog. Walk to the corner store instead of driving. Choose the parking spot farthest from the store when you do drive. Sneak extra movement in wherever you can. Every little bit burns a few more calories.

Cleaning something dirty can make you lose your appetite. The toilet, the litter box, under the kitchen sink, scrubbing out the garbage bin, anything grimy or smelly. The mess, along with the smell of the cleaner, can put you off food for a while.

Make it a rule that you always have to burn twice the calories you consume (i.e., if you ate something with 100 calories, you would have to burn 200). The thought of all the exercising you would have to do can be very discouraging.

When feeling hungry drink something hot. It expands your intestinal tract and makes you feel fuller.

Diet pills can really help you out. They give you extra energy to work out (great for avoiding fatigue when you're fasting). Dont get addicted or you're metabolism will depend on them. Take them for a week, then dont take them for a week, off and on, so your metabolism will survive.

Don't eat a lot a once. Spread your food throughout the day. This will help to avoid binging and keep your metabolism going.

If your working out a lot and getting sore muscles, make sure you're drinking enough water. If you're still sore all the time, try using icy hot or heating pad to keep muscles from cramping.

Turn the temperature down in your car/house, or open windows in your room at night, so that you'll be colder and your body will have to burn calories to keep warm.

If you like to drink, you'll like this. Make a rule: You can only drink every time you lose 2lbs. So, if you lose 4lbs a week, you can drink Friday and Saturday night. However, if you only lose 2lbs a week, you only get to drink one night.

If you work out early in the morning before you've eaten anything, you're going to be burning maximum fat. If you eat before workout out, you're just going to burn off the food rather than fat. So, avoid eating an hour before your work out. You should also avoid eating right after you exercise because your body will stop burning fat and go straight to burning to the food.

Go for long walks. It not only burns calories and keeps you away from food, but can be relaxing and of course, healthy.

Do not eat in front of the computer or TV. This distracts you from recognizing you're full.

Keep a journal or diary or whatever to record what you've eaten.

Drink 3 cups of green tea a day. Its really good for you, detoxes and speeds up your metabolism which is always a good thing.

When you lose weight reward yourself with something you want (not food obviously). Shopping is always good.

Always have the radio on and get into the habit of dancing along. You may look like a fool but you'll burn calories.

Kelp pills will speed up your metabolism.

Eat lots of fruits and veggies.

Instead of buying food, buy yourself flowers. Food is depressing, but flowers make you happy.

Exchange a bad habit for a good one (i.e. someone trades smoking for jogging). This may be hard, but very rewarding if you can do it. Exchange eating for yoga, or meditation, or reading more.

Think higher of yourself! You're too good to put THAT in your body!

Save the money you would have spent on that meal in a jar. Save it in a bottle instead and watch it grow.

Eat vicariously. Watch other people eat, and feel superior! You don't need that food. They are feeding their fat bodies and they're getting fatter! You can see then growing! How repulsive.

Make a notebook of thinspiration - notes, letters, thoughts and especially pictures of your goal.

Brush your teeth frequently. A fresh mouth helps keep you from wanting to eat.

Different sleeping habits. Go to bed later than everyone else, so you can exercise while they're sleeping. Wake up later, and have a light breakfast when they eat lunch, they'll think nothing of it.

Stay away from Slim-fast and other so-called "healthy" candy bars and shakes... one look at the nutition facts will tell you why. With all the carbs and excess calories you may as well go eat a freakin pie or something. Not to mention the rediculous prices... save yourself the money, and the calories.

Spicy foods raise your metabolism and burn slightly more calories than other foods. They'll also help keep you from getting bored with the same old boring low-cal stuff.

If you feel like you want to eat, go to a friends house that you cannot just raid the fridge at.

Drink 2 tbsp of vinegar before the meal, so (aparently) it will help suck the fat out of it.

Spoil your food. As soon as you've cooked/served up your meal, put too much salt, pepper, sauce, (or even detergent) on it. That way you won't want to eat it!

Indegestion tablets, like renies, stop hunger.

As does a hot water bottle.

Cold water burns more calories as you have to regain the body temperature.

Wear a rubber band on your wrist and snap it when you feel like eating.

Brush your teeth when you feel like eating.

After 7.00pm in the evening do not eat anything till 7.00am the next day, it it equivelent to 6 months fasting after doing this for a year.

Leave a 3hr space between eating and going to bed.

Drinking water makes you feel full.

Chew gum or tic tacs (2 cals each) to stop snacking in the day.

Always keep thinsparation pics nearby in case you get a craving.

I've heared that Pro Plus tablets with caffiene in them can speed up matabolism, this may not be true but it works for me!

Purging is easier when your fingers are wet because it doesn't gtate your throat too much. So just dip them in water for a sec and it feels better.

Always take you vitamins. I know i sound like your mother but is important if you don't eat or purge a lot.

Beating a Binge
There is nothing worse is there? You've been doing fabulously all day, haven't touched a crumb of food and then somehow you find that the bottom of the biscuit tin is getting rusty. And we all know how you found that out don't we?

Well i've decided to make this page for that timw before and after a binge. When you feel it coming on go here to stop it. When you've just done it come here to find out how you can redeem your self and aviod that ever so annoying self hate that could er, go on forever.

Mini Pep talk
For any moments where you need a pep talk quick and fast!

~

First lets think why your reading this in the first place. You want to lose weight right? You want perfection.

So do tell me why you ate that big meal today? I don't think you remember agreeing that bit with Ana do you? What you agreed was to work harder than you ever have before. To put all you are and all your efforts into your dream. Your dream to be incrediable.

That pizza in your hand? Not helping. Put it down and get on with walking, no with running up the stairway to success.

Before a Binge - Pep talk
Ok, so you feel hungry. You knows theres food in the kitchen, and wait, is it calling to you? Saying eat me?

No.

Its all in your head. You don't need to go into the kitchen. You don't even need to get up. Carry on with what you are doing. Don't waste time with food. Food is a hindrance to your progress and we know Ana is always watching. Are you seriously going to eat in FRONT of her. Lets not be rude.

"But i could just have one bite!"

But could you? Could you really have just one little bite? Maybe not. One bite may lead to a full on binge so it safer not to have anything at all. Think about it.

I know you can do this, Ana knows you can do this and you knew you could do this before you started thinking about food. So stop dreaming of cookies, focus yourself and remember why your hungry in the first place. You want this, you need this so don't wreck it now.

You've done so well!!

Don't so anything today you'll regret tomorrow.

Before a binge - top tips
My top tips for avoiding the unthinkable. God forbid....lol

   1. Get away from there! Leave the house with no money and walk around, chase butterflies, take the dog until the need to binge has gone.
   2. Have a special folder in your pictures that you add to whenever you feel like binging. It'll always be there then to thinspire you.
   3. Chew sugar free gum or tic tacs. Because your eating then aren't you? Just no calories. Everybody wins!
   4. If your by your self start yelling at your self. Tell your self you don't need this. Scream if it helps. Just get the binge feelings out of your system. I find this very effective.
   5. Spray perfume on the food you're dying to eat. You won't (and shouldn't cause you'll get really sick) eat it then.

After a Binge - Pep talk
So you've done it. You've ruined a perfectly good day and eaten a load of food.

Well what are you sitting here for?!!?? I expect you only to sit here long enough to read what i have to say then i want your trainers on, or your fingers down your throat (which ever you prefer) and get burn it away or get it up and out again. All mistakes can be fixed.

Of course, i recommend you exercise it away. Much nicer and less er, extreme.

Get a pen and paper and calculate how many calories you've consumed. Got it? Now get on your exercise equipment etc and don't stop till you've reached that number. And when your done you have nothing to worry about. Its like the binge never happened right? You may have been weak but you have shown your self worthy once more by not breaking down and sobbing but by thinking cleearly and making up for your mistake. Ana would be proud.

Now don't do it again!!

Yet another pep talk
Food. An interesting subject. It hard, soft, squashy, gloopy, stringy, powdery....and apparently we have to eat it. I mean you COULD do what everyone says and eat your three square meal a day and be an average weight, an average person, working an average job, being plain aver-BORING!

We Ana's don't do average.

We do extreme, we do fun, we do excitment. We make colours brighter, sounds sharper and life a whole lot more interesting. We discover new things and push out the boundries of our body as far as they can go. We test ouselves and see just how high we can climb.

We ignore the social 'norm' of eating. We aren't like that. We don't need food. I haven't eaten for days and do you see me dropping down. No. We stand tall over the rest. We are the great secret that every man and woman longs to know but may never find out. We hold that secret. The key to ultimate power and success.

Like i said, we don't do average.

How to become a better anorexic, baby

An anorexic mind
.........

First of all, let's work on the psychology first. Be sure to fuck up your relationship with food from the start. You want to make yourself as neurotic as possible about food, eating, kitchens, cutlery, refrigerators, restaurants, and hey, why not stretch this out even further and start hating the actual source of foods, in other words the actual animals and plants. I myself am utterly opposed to factories. Any kind of factory. Even pillow factories, hell they're all the same. But you! Spread those bad thoughts! Hate that chicken!!!! Unless of course, you're going for the sympathetic, oh the poor animals, vegan slant. That's a good one too.

    *

Firstly, reaffirm your mission. Immortalise it. Buy a fat, blank notebook, this will become your own personal anorexic sanctuary of sorts. Write down WHY you want to lose weight. Be sure to include things like how you will feel when you're 10lbs lighter, the glorious clothes you will fit into, an occasion that you would like to be thinner for like your sixteenth birthday, etc. Give yourself a final goal, and break it up into several, smaller, goalpoints. For example, if you weigh 140lbs and would like to eventually be 90lbs, list points along the way which signify a victory for you. For example, 130lbs, and then 115lbs, then 110lbs, then 100lbs, and so on. Re-read this again and again for inspiration. You will be using this notebook later to create tackytown anorexia-inspired collages and other paraphernalia.
    *

Visualisation. Following the same strain as NLP, or Neuro Linguistic Programming, we must use the principles of association to retrain your consciousness, and sub-consciousness, to turn food into one of the greater evils of the world. (Read: the greatest evil!!) Start by associating food with disgusting things. For your first ever fast, it may be helpful to draw pictures of juicy red apples, somehow morphing into giant dead rotting pigs. Plaster these all around your house, preferably on the food itself. Never underestimate the power of images. Put pictures of fat girls on your fridge, or better yet, pictures of yourself; you're pretty fat. Conversely, stick pictures of rakish models everywhere you can see them, for inspiration, and a bit of productive self-loathing. Also, practise writing things like "I'm fat" over and over. You want to drill this into your brain. "I will be thin" is a good one, as well as other "I will" affirmations. These are positive statements and very conducive to big time weight loss.
    *

Now create a list of suitable punishments either for thinking of food, or for caving in and eating food itself. A good one to try is to keep a rubber band on your hand and flick your skin whenever you think of eating. Eventually you will have a swollen hand, and a shrunken body; you will have ceased thinking of food so much. Other punishments include ridiculous amounts of exercise, purging, self-mutilation, isolation, basic denial of necessary comforts such as blankets on a cold night, or shelter when it is raining.. or simply menial, disgusting tasks such as cleaning the bathroom. Remember, you need discipline.
    *

Invent pain and hassles for yourself. Trick yourself into believing your life sucks. Be mean to people so that they instigate fights, just to make you constantly on edge, or nervous, so you cant eat. After all, you'll be light-headed and dizzy, and irritable from not eating, so you have an excuse. I used to love when dad got mad at me because it meant I was so upset I could not eat. Become an angst ridden teenager. You'll be making yourself nauseous from worry and self hatred in no time.
    *

Find another anorexic to consort with. Whether this be in real life, or on the internet. You can swap tips and indulge in your little sordid anorexia world together, force each other to exercise, pat each other on the back when you reach goals, etc. You want to completely surround yourself with all thoughts of anorexia. Find pro-anorexia websites, or create your own. Sign up for one of the dozens of pro-anorexic mailing lists at Yahoo! and you'll be bombarded daily with like minded individuals.
    *

Now, immerse yourself further in anorexia propaganda, read anorexia or otherwise 'thin' inspired literature, listen to anorexic music, watch as many triggering films as you can get your delicate little mitts on, look up to very thin hollywood stars and supermodels. Also, visit as many of the aforementioned pro-anorexia sites as you can to get a bunch of quotes and 'mantras' to write in your anorexia notebook, and repeat inside your head daily. I have compiled a list of such sources of 'thinspiration'.

Thinspiration
...........

Triggering music
This is essential. You must familiarise yourself with the very teenage and angsty artists and be sure to play the music over and over to thoroughly depress yourself. Ones to keep in mind are:

              o

Fiona Apple - try the song "Paper Bag" ... Hunger hurts but starving works...
o silverchair - try the song "Ana's Song (Open Fire)" ... and I need you now somehow, and I need you now somehow ... on my knees for you... in my head the flesh seems thicker...
o Juliana Hatfield - try the song "Feed Me"... Oh baby if only you knew, I'm down to 102...
o Tori Amos - try the song "Jackie's Strength" ... You're only popular with anorexia, so I turn myself inside out, in hopes someone will see...

Anorexic mantras
You must collect as many of these as possible. Write them in your anorexia notebook, memorise them, let them comfort you. Some examples are:

              o

"An imperfect body reflects an imperfect person."
o "You will be tempted quite frequently, and you will have to choose whether you will enjoy yourself hugely in the 20 minutes or so that you will be consuming the excess calories, or whether you will dislike youself cordially for 2 or 3 days for your lack of willpower."
o "I'm not starving myself...I'm perfecting my emptiness."
o "I can get thinner. I can cut it all off. I can wear low slung Levi's and crop tops and long straight dresses like willowy models, and I gasp with the breathlessness of being airborne. I can fly and be free. Jesus! I never realised how easy it was!"
o "Nothing tastes as good as thin feels."
o "The greasy fry, it cannot lie, its truth is written on your thigh," as said by Quinn from Daria

Devour Literature, not food
Words and text are very very triggering when it comes to not eating. For one thing, it gives you a world to inhabit, your very own private, magnificent anorexia world which nobody else around you can touch, and you shall have characters to understand you. You will be so riveted that you will not need to eat. Books to check out include:

              o

"The Best Little Girl In The World" by Steven Levenkron
              o "Wasted" by Marya Hornbacher
o "The Fountainhead" by Ayn Rand - not about anorexia per se, but Dominique Francon is the f*cking epitome of ethereal, insubstantial, bony grace.
o "I Am An Artichoke" by Lucy Frank
o "Starving For Attention" by Cherry Boone O'Neill
o "Hunger Scream" by Ivy Ruckman
o "Diary Of An Eating Disorder" by Chelsea Smith and Beverly Runyon
o "My Sister's Bones" by Cathi Hanauer
o "Stick Figure" by Lori Gottlieb
o "Eve's Apple" by Jonathan Rosen

Thinspiring Films and TV Shows
These might be about anorexia itself, or it might simply be glamorous and include very thin beautiful people. Movies and television programmes I know others find thinspiring are:

              o

                Girl, Interrupted
o For The Love Of Nancy
              o Ally McBeal

Role models
You need somebody to idolise. You must research him or her to the bones and become as close to her as possible. Become obsessed. Some suitable examples include those in the following list, who are either very skinny, or have, or have had anorexia:

              o

                Kate Moss - nineties waif
o Angelina Jolie - skinny sexy actress, e.g. Girl, Interrupted and Gia
o Christina Ricci - actress, had anorexia
o Calista Flockhart - Ally McBeal
o Lara Flynn Boyle - glamorous and snobby, never eats
o Tracey Gold - actress who suffered from anorexia
o Karen Carpenter - musician and classic anorexic
o Portia de Rossi - actress on Ally McBeal who went through a stage of dangerous dieting
o Geri Halliwell - formerly Ginger Spice, engaged in a 'thin war' with:
o Victoria Beckham - formerly Posh Spice
o Courtney Cox - actress on Friends, bony and gaunt
              o Twiggy - iconoclastic model
              o Mary Kate - had anorexia..perfection
o Jodie Kidd - impossibly thin model
o Nicole Richie - Thin thin thin
o Audrey Hepburn - quintessential class, very petite

This should be enough to sufficiently fuck up and cloud your perceptions. Above all, convince yourself you are above others, a hero, owing to your spectacular powers of restraint. Feel elitist. Feel as though you are somehow super-human for resisting the urge to eat. Feel better than the other mere mortals who dig in to their cereal and their donuts. Believe in the power of starving as though it were a religion.

Extreme Dieting
.........

Now we can move on to the actual act of excessive dieting itself. First off we should establish clear limits. Make up rules you cannot deviate from. Only eat yellow foods on Monday, and brown foods on Tuesday. Or only eat every other day. Or only eat at night. Or only eat on days with the letter "u" in them. Or become a vegan. Or a fruitarian. Or follow your own version of a well known diet, such as the ever popular low carb diets, e.g., the Zone Diet, Atkin's Diet. Use your imagination. I knew a model who swore her secret was living on sushi, candy, oranges, cigarettes, and water. Another tip to try is to only allow yourself one food a day. You will get sick of the taste and therefore eat less due to boredom. Now, compile a list of "safe foods". Here is a fairly comprehensive list:

o Low Cal Jelly (or Jello, for you Americans)
o Celery - it is composed highly of water, it is crunchy, which is said to cause you to eat less, owing to the amount you have to chew it, it is considered a catabolic food.
o Carrots are also another safe vegetable (although most vegetables can be on your safe list, these are merely the safest of the safe).
o Salsa and mustard - dieting staples. You can dip vegetables in them, they are fat free and low cal, and salsa brings cravings to an abrupt halt. Spicy foods are also thought to fire up your metabolism.
o Vinegar - thought to thoroughly reduce your appetite. It is suggested you drink a tablespoon or two before each meal.
o Lemons dipped in a sugar substitute such as Splenda or Nutrasweet. (note: In some anorexia circles, even fruit is no good, besides oranges, which are a 50cal food).
o Broth (only 5 calories per cube!!)
o Egg white - much needed protein.
          o Pickles.
o Lettuce - an absolute 'nothing' food.
o Cucumbers - very very low cal.
o and never underestimate the power of soup.

Safe foods are merely foods that are safe to eat if you are craving foods outside your set meals. They are extremely low cal, or no cal. As for your actual daily intake of food, most wannabe anorexics tend to stick within the 500 - 1000 calorie range depending on how much exercise they do. Never be shy when it comes to considering taking certain drugs to reduce or diminish appetite. Some antidepressant medication such as Wellbutrin have this effect, as well as Topamax, which is originally an anti-convulsive but has been and can be prescribed for things such as ADD and bipolar disorder. Steal your little brother's ADD medication. Dexedrine is gold when it comes to killing appetite. Just ignore the paranoia and nervousness that comes with it. Think about diet pills and supplements such as Metabolife and Ephedra.

Day To Day
........

Now we move on to the ever important area of ritual and habits, tips & tricks, to get down to a science.

          o

Graze constantly throughout the day so that your metabolism never gets the chance to rest and become sluggish. Eating 100 calories five times a day is better than eating one meal consisting of 500 calories.
          o

Fool your metabolism by constantly changing the number of calories you consume daily. This will prevent your body going into starvation mode, meaning that lesser amounts of calories will make you gain weight. For instance, eat 500 calories on Monday, 100 on Tuesday, 800 on Wednesday, no calories on Thursday, and 400 calories on Friday.
          o

Get a full night's sleep, at least eight hours. Although staying up late does make you burn more calories, don't become sleep-deprived or your metabolism will become sleepy. Your appetite will even increase by 15%.
          o

Record everything you eat in your anorexia notebook. This serves to motivate you, as well as to be aware of all the extra calories you may not be aware you are consuming. It may also let you identify emotional or environmental triggers, such as boredom or sadness.
          o

Take vitamin pills frequently so your body doesn't crave nutrients, causing binges.
          o

Diet coke and other diet sodas cause that bubbly, full feeling in your stomach, for about 1 calorie per glass.
          o

Brush your teeth and tongue all the time. The feeling in your mouth will ease cravings and additionally, food will taste yukky with toothpaste, so whats the point of eating it?
          o

Drink water like a fish. Drink a glass of water, or a diet soda, every hour on the hour. Drink water every time you have the urge to snack. Ice water is better because your body will burn more calories to heat it up. Drink water with meals to prevent overeating. Bear in mind that often we mistake thirst for hunger.
          o

Caffeine will speed up your metabolism. Have two or three servings a day, in the form of black sugarless coffee, or caffeine pills, or guarana. If stacked with ephedra and aspirin, a synergistic effect will occur that imitates the effects of speed or other amphetamines. Do be aware that this practice can be rather dangerous.
          o

Exercise. Not only will you burn off the calories you consume when you do eat, but it will increase your metabolism for some time afterwards. As well, the consequential muscle mass will increase the calories you burn at rest. It also suppresses appetite. Try running, or buy yourself a skipping rope.
          o

Stand up and move about constantly. Compulsively fidget. It does add up to an estimated extra 500 calories burned a day. Twitch your leg while studying, for example. Also, sit up straight - you'll burn more calories.
          o

Have a very busy and active schedule. It will burn more calories than sitting in your room thinking about not eating, and make sure you don't have enough time to binge.
          o

Find a something other than food to satisfy your oral fixation. Choices include things like smoking, chewing gum, water, iced tea, sugarless mints, and diet coke.
          o

Put a small coin in a jar every time you resist a craving, or exercise when majorly exhausted, etc. This will motivate you, build up confidence in your starving abilities, and keep track of your successes. As well as give you extra cash to splurge on some fantastical treat when you reach your first major weight loss goal.
          o

The type of music you listen to while you eat affects how much and how quickly you consume. The faster the music, the more you eat. Try to listen to nice slow music when you eat.
          o

Eat sweets and the foods you crave early on in the day. This will give you more time to burn them off and it will eliminate cravings later.
          o

Eat while in the front of the mirror naked. You will be completely repulsed, and repelled from the food. This is a good thing.
          o

Feel your hunger..don't try to suppress it. If you're hungry that means you're losing weight; you WANT to be hungry. If you're not then you're not doing it right. In time you will get a wonderful high off of being hungry and thoroughly enjoy the sensation. Hunger is not your enemy! The sooner this is understood, the sooner you will reach your goals.
          o

Did you know that there are 2 pounds of dead skin on you right now!!?! Thats right! 2 POUNDS! ...if you're underweight or in starvation mode your body does not "shed" its skin the way it should. It holds on to it. Use an exfoliator for your face, and a loofah brush or scrub for your body.
          o

Make a stack of magazines that weighs the amount you want to lose. As you lose, take off the appropriate amount of magazines. Seeing the weight like that may help you realise what a difference it will make when it is all off.

When you're feeling weak..
............

Here are some things which will help when your willpower is very feeble, to ward off the urge to eat, or worse, binge!

          o

Pinch your thigh and see how you don't need food, because you should be eating your own flesh all away from the inside first, before you are deserving of actual legitimate sustenance.
          o

Go to the library. You can research dieting or whatever, or you can read the classics, or some of the aforementioned listerature. Or you can do homework, or write letters, but the beauty of it is, since no food or drink is allowed, you'll have no choice but to abstain from a meal.
          o

Buy some baby teething gel and rub it on your tongue, to numb your tastebuds.
          o

If you're even considering eating, just hold your breath and count to 100. Chances are that you'll convince youself not to eat whatever it is you're craving in that time.
          o

The scent of coffee has been proven to lessen ones appetite.
          o

Chew the food but don't swallow it. Spit it in the bin.
          o

If you're feeling dangerous, plan out the next few hours so that you're occupied for every single minute. Write a list of things to do for every 15 minutes. eg. exercise, surf the internet, email your friends, clean a room, read a book.
          o

If you're feeling brave enough to face the kitchen, go there and throw out any potential binge foods. If you must, pour bleach/disinfectant/dishwashing detergent on the food, and then throw it away! (Anorexics are known for retrieving food from bins, or stealing food from strange places).
          o

Pinch your ear! Apply pressure to the front of the ear, one at a time. The front of the ear is apparently a pressure point, in the area that controls hunger.
          o

Let perfume replace chocolate. Every time you have a craving, or pass a bakery, sniff some Chanel no. 5. Apply it to a tissue and carry it with you. Smell has a powerful effect on appetite.
          o

Clean something. Cleaning something dirty can make you lose your appetite. The toilet, the litter box, under the kitchen sink, scrubbing out the garbage bin, anything grimy or smelly. The mess, along with the smell of the cleaner, can put you off food for a while.
          o

Become a teenage artist. Write anorexic poetry, tragic little verses about bones and stomachs and evil evil capsicums. Anorexics are ever so creative. Collect pictures of skinny girls. Stick them all in your notebook. Draw pictures of painful bony girls with tear stained faces and their head in their hands (their spines sticking out). This will take up most of your time.\

Hiding it
..........

Anorexia is supposed to be a private and tortured place, dontcha know. Deny it at all costs. Pretend you have not noticed the pounds dropping off you. Don't be suspicious. Here are some relevant tips:

          o

Spend time making yourself look healthy. Drink lots of water and apply a fake tan. Wear makeup so that you have some colour, and keep your hair looking nice and shiny, take vitamins. Smile.
          o

Whenever you do decide to eat, do it in the company of others. That way they can't say they never see you touch food.
          o

On your way out, heat up a slice of pizza or prepare a snack to 'eat on the run'. Of course, you will dispose of the food at your first convenience.
          o

Leave a dirty plate lying around every so often for your parents to yell at you about.
          o

Drink out of opaque cups, and spit your food into it whilst preteding to drink. They'll never know.
          o

Eat really slowly because if everybody else is on their third slice of pizza, they'll assume you are too, even if you're still finishing your first.
          o

Sign out of hotmail and clear the history before you get off of the Internet. This will eliminate Autofill being ever so helpful while your Mum is researching aardvarks, and coming up with www.anorexicsanonymous.com for her. In short, don't leave traces lying around for others to find.

I trust that this guide to becoming a better anorexic will serve you well on your quest to being emaciated and ahem, gorgeous. Remember, think thin, and try not to faint too often or die.

3 For All, All For 3

No, this isn't rocket science or any science as a matter of fact. This is just a set of rules that should govern your life as an anorexic. I have over 200 of the less important tips, too, but these are the 3 major ones:

The 7-7 Rule
Dinner must be eaten by 7:00 pm. After dinner, no food is to be consumed until 7:00 am at the earliest. This is basically the same as a 12-hour fast, meaning if you live by this rule for an entire year, you will have equivalently fasted for 6 months.Mainly one should do this is because your metabolism slows down at night, and if you do consume food it will be harder to burn the calories.

The 3-hour Eat/Sleep Rule
3 hours must pass between the last time you ate and the time you go to bed. This ensures that you are actively burning calories while the food is initially digesting, versus when you are sleeping, when metabolism slows and you burn fewer calories. Very important, because you want to burn off as many of those consumed calories as possible.

The 2X a Day Rule

You must weigh yourself twice a day, minumum. Once at night before you go to bed or after your last bite of food in consumed, and once after using the bathroom in the morning but before any food is consumed. This is a more a self-esteem booster than anything else. You are always thinner in the morning. Also, it lets you know how much weight you gain during the day and how much weight you lose over night this way you can determine how much you can eat to still lose weight,

*new* take vitamin B-6 and B-12 Supplements, they speed up your metabolism like none other.

*new* purge in the shower, or in your sink while music is playing, people will be less supicious.

002.pick one food for the day like an apple. cut it into 8 slices. eat 2 slices at breakfast, 2 at lunch, 2 at dinner, and you'll have 2 left for a snack! this way your body thinks it's eating 4 times that day, but in reality you've only had 1 apple. the next day pick another food. make sure it's only 1 serving that you split up into 3 or more throughout the day

105.drink several cups of green tea each day, which helps raise metabolism, also, add a few slices of lemon and a tiny bit of honey - this aids liver and kidney function, and thus avoids extra weight gain... it also fills u up quite well

106.If you have a terrible craving, turn on the T.V.! Most likely, SOME sort of show will be on with skinny, gorgeous actresses/models. It's a definite way to curb an appetite

107.If sitting at school, college etc. constantly tap your feet/fingers. Fidgeting throughout day is proven to burn up to 800 calories per day

108.If you get hungry, brush your teeth with mint toothpaste

109.If you're talking about celebrities, make sure to mention how you think Calista Flockhart is too thin and that you think Kate Winslet is gorgeous. Praise fat and people will never guess that you're starving yourself into thinness

110.If you're in outpatient treatment and have to have your blood tested - a comprehensive metabolic panel - there are a few ways you can fool the test. One, drink water - LOTS. You need to flush the ketones that have built up in your system out of your body or else they'll know you're starving/burning fat. Two, eat some nutritional stuff - yogurt, fruit, cereal - the day beforehand as well as a few hours beforehand, Technically, you're supposed to fast for 12 hours before the test for it to be accurate in measuring your vitamin levels. NOT fasting will up the vitamin levels. Three, makes sure you always take vitamins. Finally, you'll want to make sure you get your electrolytes in. Smartwater has 0 calories and electrolytes - perfect for this tip and the first one! So drink up

111.Wear nail polish to cover up the bluish tinge that starvation gives your fingernails so others don't suspect it as much

112.Have to go to a restaurant with someone? Some ways you can avoid eating much - 1. veganism (makes it hard to find suitable food); 2. severe food allergies (always a good answer when they offer chocolate!), or 3. order something that you've never tried before. When you taste it, say you don't like it

113.Three product recommendations: smart water (0 calories, but has electrolytes - even if you don't purge you lose them!), cafeinated peppermints (sugar free - 3 for 5 calories, at www.peppermints.com), and antacid gum (for those times you do have to purge). These are the triumvirate of the anorexic's medicine cabinet

114.Remember... Beating hunger is mostly a matter of distraction. Try not to be alone if you really want to ignore your hunger. Drink a huge glass of water so your stomach doesn't rumble and then go window shopping or to Barnes and Noble and read a magazine... or go to a friend's house and laugh with them or something so that you get distracted. My favorite tactic of distraction is music... Heh, you get up and perform a concert of your favorite hitting fast jam with lip singing and air guitar, and do anything else you can to distract

115.use your mind - think about what the food would look like in your body after you have eaten it... hopefully that will put you off

116.When you're cooking, make sure you chew gum at the same time so you won't be tempted to take lil' bites of the stuff you're cooking

117.Wearing braces could take away your appetite. Depending on what kind of a person you are either lazy or not. In some cases other people don't bother cleaning their braces because they are sick and tired of doing it. It is also bad to leave chunks of meat and cheetos in-between braces and teeth. Their mentality says " Why bother eating again I don't want to clean my braces three times a day" . This tip is good for people who are "neat freaks" or hygienic. It is also a good advantage cause braces will give good teeth result. Braces may hurt the teeth but its another reason not to bother putting food in your mouth

118.If you're with your family or something, and you're at a buffet, spend most of the time acting like you're picky, and walk around the buffet tables. Then just get a little something and spit it in your cup or something. Sneak in some exercise too while you're walking

119.get a piece of RIBBON and cut it to the measurement that you want your WAIST to become after you lose weight. Then you tie this round your wrist like a bracelet. The idea is that each time you see the ribbon you remember your goal, and hopefully it stops you breaking your targets! And whenever you need a motivation boost, take the ribbon off and SEE IF IT FITS ROUND YOUR WAIST! And just imagine how cool it'll be when it does!!

120.Have a peppermint; peppermints decrease hunger.

122.Hit your stomach when it grumbles because that will make the sound go away and your stomach will hurt too much to eat.

133.Spinning yourself in circles doesn't make you hungry anymore.

134.Keep a food journal (you will be willing to eat less if you are forced to keep track of it)

135.Pick apart your food cravings. If you eat food in separate parts instead of all mixed into one, it feels like you've eaten more and you don't get extra stuff you don't really need. For example, if you're really craving pizza, think about what it contains. Bread, tomato sauce, cheese. Drink a can of V8 or eat a tomato. If you still want pizza, have a rice cake or a few crackers or some other starch. If you still want pizza, have a piece of cheese. Or if you're craving peanut butter, have a handful of peanuts and avoid the added sugar and oil contained in most commercial peanut butter. If that doesn't work, eat a spoonful of honey for the sweetness overload. Same net effect, fewer total calories, no wasted empty added crap.

136.Give yourself permission before eating. Stop and think about it, consider if you really want to eat whatever-it-is. If your answer is yes, then say (or think) something like "I'm allowed to eat this" or "I have permission to eat this".

137.Make up crazy food rituals and follow them religiously. Track them in your Ana book.

138.Transfer your cravings. When you want the burger everyone else is having, convine yourself that you really want [carrots, celery, an apple, something negative calories, that you don't have on hand] then when you get home, you can treat yourself to that thing, and feel like you have given in to a craving, but without the guilt.

139.Associate food with feeling sick. You wont want to eat something,if the sight of it repulses you.

153.Weigh in!

154.Dont eat lunch- save your lunch money and buy a present for yourself later.

155.Take a bath!! This helps me when im fasting.

156.Do something that requires your hands or that you cannot eat doing.

157.Take vitamins! Always always.

158.Spit! Spitting into cups is a way to be in control when you are eating something out of control.

159.Know when your trigger time is with eating, and change your routine to avoid it!

160.Look at yourself in the mirror when you run in place- it will make you run longer and give you a good idea of how fat you are.

161.If it looks good, remove it- throw it out, flush it down the toilet, grind it in the disposal.

162.*Eat Ice cubes, they give you the feel like your eating something and the coldness can accually burn calories.

167.Sit up straight. You'll burn at least ten percent more calories sitting upright than reclining.

168.Never eat anything bigger that you fist.

169.use kelp pills, it help boost metabolism

170.Have a peppermint, peppermints decrease hunger. Watch out.. 3 of those little things have 60 cals in them!

171.Watch out for chewing cinammon gum on an empty stomach. It makes you even hungrier!

172.Drink water instead of eating, sometimes when your really thisty your body might trick you into eating. Have at least 8 glasses of some kind of water

173.Drink two quarts of water each day. This helps control your appetite. Sometimes a feeling of hunger is actually thirst. Additionally, water is necessary to carry away the breakdown byproducts of fat. Carry a little sport bottle at all times. If you feel hungry, take a drink.

174.*drink a sip of water inbetween every bite. it makes you feel as if you were full.

175.*Watch what other people, especially fat people, eat, and feel superior...because they are feeding their fat bodies and they're getting fatter!

176.*If you've done well, reward yourself once a week, but not with food...buy yourself a new cd or go shopping and buy smaller clothes

177.*Create a pro-anorexia scrap-book with pictures and quotes...this is good to look at when you feel a binge coming on

178.*Spend a little time each day a a pro-anorexia website, reading your emails, or looking at your scrap book to stay motivated

179.*Check the fridge when nobody else is around...find food that you would have eaten and get rid of it..then you can say that you ate it

180.*Only eat when other people can see you. That way they cant say "you never eat!"

181.*Drink ice cold water it-it burns up cals, drink hot water-makes you feel full, you chose

182.*Leave dirty dishes around the house (example: pour a little milk in a bowl and put some peices of cereal in it and say you ate it) people will think your eating

183.*Use dark cups to drink from, then spit food in it

184.*Dont act oddly, if your always commenting on how skinny people are or how fattening certain foods are, someones bound to find how obsessed you are, noone needs to know this except for you.

185.*Take walks! They clear your mind, speed up your metabolism and once you start, you?ll be addicted!

186.*Go to the library. You can research dieting or whatever else interests you or you can actually do your homework for a change. Since no food or drink is allowed, you?ll have no choice but to forgo a meal.

187.* Reading books is really underrated. Start compiling a list of books that you have been meaning to read for a while and, well, actually read them. You may even want to read true accounts of anorexia to inspire you.

188.Listen to loud music. Many people eat because they feel anxious but if you channel this tension through another outlet, you?ll save yourself a lot of calories.

189.If you go to a resturant and really cant stand the thought of eating then take a purse lined with plastic inside and order a low fat meal and eat some but when no-one is looking drop some in the bag. ***BE EXTREMELY CAREFUL WITH THIS!!!***

190.Try not to give too much attention to the mirror when people are near, people might notice.

191.Avoid watching movies about ana or mia when friends or family are around. Trust me...this makes their suspicion grow!

192.If your parents offer you food, that can easily be thrown away without their knowledge, take it and then throw it away, helps keep parents less suspicous.

193.Just plain out loud lie, it always works, unless its an obvious lie or your a bad liar.

194.Brush your teeth. Get a travel-sized toothbrush and toothpaste set and use it often. A clean minty mouth can make the thought of eating less attractive. Also, if you brush after every meal and every supposed meal, it's less obvious whether you've eaten or not.

195.Take a shower. Hot steamy water can suppress the appetite, in me at least, and paying close attention to your body will serve to remind you exactly why you're losing weight in the first place. If you feel clean you may not want to "dirty" yourself with food.

196.Fidget, take up a new hobby, find something to focus on. Find something with which to distract your hands and / or mouth. Chewing gum works for many people, but check for calories. Sewing or stringing beads is good, detail-oriented and monotonous. Keep yourself occupied.

197.Exercise. Find something you love to do and do it. If, like me, you're too self-conscious to exercise where people can see, then do it when you're alone at home or in a locked room or other safe place. Make it interesting. The best I've found? Dancing. Find music you love, cover the windows up, and don't even think about what you may look like since there's nobody to see. It's a lot of fun, and it helps you get more familiar with your body as well.

198.Find triggering pictures. You have internet access, I know you do. When you feel like eating, pick an actress or model that you think is particularly beautiful and search for pictures of them... or for pictures of people you find particularly ugly and fat. It's a slow, involving process and for me at least a great way to avoid eating.

199.Take a nap. A lot of people think they're hungry when really they're just tired. Also, drink water, since thirst can make you think you're hungry as well.

200.Keep a food diary. Write down everything you eat and anything else you feel might be helpful to know. This will allow you to measure progress and track patterns over time.

201.Set yourself rules regarding food. Pick ones that you know you can follow and stick with them. Then, keeping these, gradually add on more rules until your eating is entirely under control. It's hard to restrict yourself all the way at once, and more effective to do it in increments. The idea here is to sort of sneak up on yourself in tiny little stages, adapting to each new rule before making another.

202.Reward yourself, don't punish. Punishment is not effective and will do more emotional harm than physical good. Calculate how much money you're saving by not eating and add this up until you have enough to buy something you like (but not food). Or, put a penny (dollar, marble) in a jar for every small goal you keep and treat yourself with something (not food) once you reach a certain amount. Remember that these rewards will last longer and give more pleasure than food you would just eat, proccess, and discard.

203.Eat slowly, in small bites. Cut your food up into small pieces. Pause while eating to drink water or whatever other liquid you enjoy. It takes a while for "full" signals to get from our stomach to our brain. Also, if you eat over a longer period of time and add more liquids, it can trick your mind into thinking you've eaten more.

204.Take out only the amount of food you plan on eating. Wrap everything securely up before you start eating and put it away. Don't go back for seconds. Don't nibble while preparing food, either. Those bites and crumbles add up staggeringly fast.

205.Think about food before and while you eat it. Think about where it came from and exactly what happened to it before it reached you. This works particularly well with meat, dairy, and egg products.

206.Food associations. Find something that makes you feel vaguely ill or unpleasant, get a picture of it, and put the picture beside your food. Switch pictures frequently and make sure to look at the pictures while you eat. After a while you may began to associate food itself with unpleasantness, which will make you less inclined to eat.

207.Give yourself permission before eating. Stop and think about it, consider if you really want to eat whatever-it-is. If your answer is yes, then say (or think) something like "I'm allowed to eat this" or "I have permission to eat this".

208.Plan your meals in advance, for the day or week or whatever. Decide what you are allowed to eat each day. If you know that you will be eating, it may help you avoid eating other things.

209.If you feel yourself starting to lose control while you're eating, stop. Set your food down, take a long drink of water or some other cool liquid, and take a deep breath before resuming eating. This can help interrupt a slide into binge-mode. Remember to remind yourself that you are still going to finish your food and that you aren't stopping, just pausing for a moment.

210.Sabotage your food. Make it with too much water, too little sugar, an ingredient you don't care for. Add too much salt or pepper before you eat. You will eat less of it if it tastes bad.

211.Pick apart your food cravings.

212.About weighing yourself. Everyone has different methods here that work for them. Many people get discouraged with weighing themselves every day, because our weight is not a stable thing and can vary drastically from little insignificant things. Try to get a better overall picture through the fit of your clothing instead.

213.Throw food away before you eat it. A lot of people feel guilty and don't like to toss food. There's nothing wrong with this. Remember, though, that food gets discarded any way you look at it... purging, digesting, tossing... and isn't it better to get rid of the food before it puts fat on you instead of after? If you still hate to discard food, see how much of it you can donate to your local shelters and community service programs.

214.Apple cider vinegar (or possibly vinegar in general). It may help raise metabolism and burn fat. It may for you work as an appetite suppressant. Be careful, though, it may also hurt your stomach or cause nausea. Don't take more than a couple teaspoonfuls at a time. Try it mixed with honey in a glass of water, or in diet 7up or other clear carbonated soda about twenty minutes before eating, you may feel full quicker or decide not to eat at all.

215.Eat dense foods. They'll feel like more in your stomach. Light or fluffy foods tend to compact, and don't fill you up as well. Drink lots of liquids.

216.Avoid refined foods. They're in large part empty calories, and they don't satisfy the body or supply good solid nutritional requirements. The closer to natural you eat, the more value you get per bite, and the less you'll need to eat. Substitute whole grains for white flour and raw sugar for refined white sugar particularly.

217.Don't fill up on bread. It's deceptive. Six slices of bread can feel the same as one sandwich in your stomach, and it gets processed very quickly. If you do eat bread eat whole-wheat or grain bread, which will feel denser in your stomach as well as be healthier for your digestive system. Make a sandwich with vegetables or low-fat cottage cheese or salsa instead of eating bread plain.
