Hi and Welcome here! My name is Debbie Wiebe and I am a hobby Breeder of Quality Canadian Kennel Club (CKC) Registered Shih Tzu Puppies.  We are located in Winkler, Manitoba, Canada and all of our dogs and puppies are raised in our home with our children and extended families.  Since it is so important for puppies to develop and maintain social attachments to their own, the puppies will remain with their mother and litter mates until about 9 weeks of age.  After that time a decision is then made whether the puppy is mature enough to leave their Mom and our family. It is my goal here at Deb's Tzu to produce healthy, happy, well socialized puppies .  I do my very best to make sure our puppies have nothing but the very best from the start until they find their forever homes. I put my heart and soul into assuring that every dog I own and puppies that I produce are healthy and sound and will be for their entire life. We have spent many years searching for the right pedigree to improve the Shih tzu breed. Here at Deb's Tzu we bred and raise only the Shih Tzu we do not cross our dogs nor do we own any other bred but what we consider the very best of breds the Shih Tzu. It is my opinion that crossing the already perfect bred would only be a determent to the bred and not an improvement to the bred in any way shape or form.  The Shih tzu is an excellent choice for retirees as well as families with children. The Shih tzu temperament is very affectionate and docile making them the ideal lap dogs. Shih Tzu's are very intelligent little dogs that have endearing personalities and they make great family pets. 

The Shih Tzu originated in Tibet where it was kept in temples as a sacred dog.  It is known that they were occasionally given to the Emperors of China during the Manchu dynasty (17th century) as a tribute of great honor and that is how they came to be established in China.  One of the strongest characteristics of the Shih Tzu is it's personality.  The Shih Tzu is a friendly, non aggressive dog that is a good companion for children and other breeds of dogs and animals. Shih Tzus are known for their fun-loving play, romping around the apartment or in the country side.  The Shih Tzu is a people oriented dog, they cherish people!  The Shih Tzu in not a one person dog they are happy to entertain a stranger, once accepted by the family.  One of the reasons for their popularity is that they make friends where ever they go!  They make excellent therapy dogs because of their outgoing and friendly personality.  Several Deb's Tzu dogs have been certified and are still working in the area to bring much joy and happiness to those needing a true one of a kind friend.

Deb's Tzu produces a limited amount of puppies each year from quality parents.  We breed for quality and not quantity and that way you can be assured that each litter gets all the attention that they need and deserve.  All of my dogs are Canadian Kennel Club registered (CKC) and some are also AKC registered.  I breed for health, temperament, beauty the complete package.  I strive to produce puppies that will make the best pets possible for qualified homes as well as puppies that have what it takes to make it in the show ring.  Puppies are vet checked thoroughly by Dr. Jackie Enns of the Winkler Vet Clinic at 8 weeks of age and then they receive their first immunizations and microchip.  Puppies are also dewormed at least four times before leaving my home and their dewclaws have been removed.  My Shih Tzu's are pure of breed Canadian Kennel Club (CKC) registered and we have researched their pedigrees.  Our puppies come with a written health guarantee, puppy and information packages.  Most of our puppies are sold as pet/companion puppies with limited CKC registration papers on a spay/neuter contract but due to the quality of the puppies we produce we are also opened to discussion about the possibilities of full or unlimited CKC registration as well to approved homes and at our discretion. 

All of our Shih Tzu puppies are overflowing with personality.  They are adorable and endearing as we begin their personality formation early by treating them and handling them right from the time they take their first breath at Deb's Tzu until they leave for their new homes.  We make sure that as Shih Tzu breeders we keep puppies close to their mom and litter mates for a duration of at least 8.5 - 9 weeks after birth.  This ensures that their personalities form to be ones based on good healthy attachments right from the start.  We provide them with the very best possible clean environment as long as they are with us so that they always feel loved and thus are soo lovable!  The Shih Tzu puppies for sale here are raised around all kinds of people both young and old alike.  They are not only raised around our extended families but they are exposed to friends, neighbors and co-workers.  This leaves them well socialized to be around your family members both young and old alike too!  These Canadian kennel club (CKC) and AKC registered Shih Tzus absolutely love to be around people all kinds of people and warm up to their new family members immediately. 

 Please be informed about the hereditary conditions that the Shih Tzu may have and choose your breeder carefully!  Please do your home work and research the bred itself to make sure that the Shih Tzu is indeed the right bred for you and your family.  There are some informational links and articles on this site and we are more than willing to help you along the way as to what you should be looking for and we are happy to answer all your questions.  Purchasing a puppy from a backyard breeder or puppy mill will only encourage these people to continue breeding puppies and dogs in horrible conditions.  You  get what you pay for so put your money into a happy, healthy well bred puppy not into vet bills to try to save a sick puppy. 

I welcome all potential buyers the opportunity to visit my home, dogs and puppies to see for themselves the clean and nurturing environment that these babies are raised in as well as to see the wonderful temperaments of my adult dogs and puppies.  They are all happy, healthy, loving, sweet, and enjoy cuddles with all that enter through our doors.  Our dogs are not kenneled, they are our fur children and are treated as such.  The puppies bred, born and raised in our home are handled by my entire family including my 4 children and husband as well as my extended family members my mother, son-in-law, nieces, co-workers and friends too!  Puppies being raised in our home are also socialized and exposed to all the normal house hold sounds and noises like the TV. radio, dishwasher, vacuum, telephone, kids, cats, and other dogs ect.  This creates a very lovable, social, and well adjusted puppy.  We here at Deb's Tzu also start the house and crate training process for you so that your new puppy has the very best start and also eliminating as much stress as possible for the puppy and their new owners.
