The Tyro Stuff Before you Enter

Before you enter a meeting, you need to complete two documents:-

1.  Registration Form

This form is a record of your personal details, and will be kept on file for use during the year.  This form must be completed in full before any entry form can be accepted - however, the registration form need only be completed once (unless your details change).

You must supply a minimum of FIVE frequency choices and must have these at each meeting attended - please make a note of all the details supplied on the registration form or take a copy before posting.  If you can provide more than five frequencies, it would be very much appreciated as this helps heat generation for the meetings. If you do not bring the same five frequencies to an event, you may forfeit your place.

All other details, including personal transponder number, must also be completed.

2.  Entry Form

This form must be completed for EACH meeting entered and submitted with the appropriate fee.  Entry Forms will only be accepted with or after a registration form has been received with the appropriate details.

Entry forms CAN be sent at the same time as the Registration form.

*IMPORTANT NOTE*

Please note that you should only enter a meeting if you are sure you will attend – your money will be taken irrespective of whether you actually attend the meeting or not. This is also irrespective of whether notification of non-attendance is given at any later date.

Deadlines

You are advised to send in entries as soon as possible - demand for places is likely to be high!

B: TYRO National Championship
[a] The BRCA TYRO Nationals will be a concurrently run National series for the racer not wishing to compete at the main National level. This series will run to the following rules:-
  • The race day format and rules on the day will be per BRCA Rallycross rules.
  • No driver entered for any event of the main BRCA National series can enter for a BRCA TYRO Nationals event.
  • Any driver with “National” status cannot enter a BRCA TYRO National event - that is a driver who has achieved a top 24 placing in a BRCA National Championship during the last 3 years prior to the year of the current Championship starting.
  • Seven Championship rounds with 75% of meetings taking place to be counted towards overall placings, rounded up or down to the nearest whole number. In the event all seven meetings take place, this would mean five meetings to count.
  •  Entry fee to be £15 [£10 juniors], with no up front registration fee
  • The top 20 placed drivers in the BRCA TYRO Nationals will be offered preferred entry status for the following year’s BRCA National series, but with the exception of the top 5 placed drivers do not have to take this offer up.
  • The top 5 placed drivers will receive a preferred entry for the BRCA National series as above, but will also be refused entry to the BRCA TYRO Nationals for the following year – i.e. they should look to progress to the main National series.
  • Clubs hosting an event with receive a guaranteed allowance of £500 - to be reviewed each season end by main BRCA Rallycross committee
  • All events will run on the same dates as the BRCA National series, including reserve dates required in an event of postponement - dates to be nominated by main BRCA Rallycross committee
  • Club committees hosting the relevant round would therefore have to commit to not attending the main BRCA National event taking place on that same date
  • A sub committee of four individuals must be created, headed by a TYROs National co-ordinator - these persons will attend all 7 meetings to help the running of the event. The co-ordinator will act as liaison between clubs and the main BRCA Rallycross committee and have a place on the main BRCA Rallycross committee; no other sub committee member shall do so.
  • Events will be selected by the main BRCA Rallycross committee, having received proposals/submissions from clubs, via the TYROs co-ordinator.
  • Any decision of the main BRCA Rallycross committee shall be binding on the TYROs series, its co-ordinator and sub-committee.
