FAQ   What Are The TYRO Nationals

For all the RallyCross racers out there that are in need of some well structured racing on proven tracks ran by established clubs, but don’t feel ready to go to the BRCA Nationals

Then the RallyCross TYRO Nationals is the Championship for you
This series will be run under the umbrella of the BRCA RallyCross section
It will incorporate verified rules on both driving standards track layout and race procedure

This series offers the stepping stone to Nationals, or just some where you can race in a controlled series
So if you are fed up of been cannon fodder for all the bashers smashers at you local club or series, or want to get ready for the 2009 Nationals then this is the Championship for you

Who Can Enter ?

The BRCA Wording states

"No driver entered for any event of the main BRCA National (“A”) series can enter for a BRCA National “B” series event"

to explain this proposals
No Driver will be allowed to enter both series, it must be one or the other,However they may be able to pull out of the TYRO series at any time and go and do nationals but will be removed from the series points totally

So Does this mean Top class drivers can enter ?

The word TYRO refers to Novice

To make this more transparent and easier to understand

Any Driver that finished in the top 24 of 2007 National Rallycross series (list can be found here
http://www.brca-rallycross.co.uk/art...er1/series.htm) will not be considered as a TYRO series entrant for this series and will not be allowed to enter any of the 6 point scoring rounds

However the presentation day should be a joining affair and all drivers should be welcome be it A National or B Tyro

Can you enter all the rounds on 1 cheque (i.e £70)

The answer is Yes just send a cheque in with todays date or any date between now and the 13th march to cover ALL events if you so wish! Alternativley you can pre-date 4/5/6 cheques with a clearance date before the start of the dated cheque in question

How can i enter?

Entries will open on 20th January 2008 and will only be accepted by post to the RTN Secretary, whose address is on the Entry Form. Will entries be capped and if so will any priorities be given on rounds entered?

As with any series/event there needs to be cap for a number of reasons so to this end the cap will be 100 drivers per event plus a reserve of 10 places

With regards to priority primarily this will be on a first come, first served basis However people booking in for all six events in advance will take presidence over people booking in for say only 3 events.

I need to get my entry off for the TYRO Tomorrow but i don't know if i am in the Nationals? so what is the process should i manage to get a nationals entry? would cheques be destroyed/returned and my entry into the TYRO obviously be

Very simple answer is yes This is a Showcase "B" Type National and respect has to be made to people that have entered the A Nationals so if you get a place in the A Nationals you get a refund for the events not completed But please also understand in entering the A Nationals all points incurred in the TYRO will become null and void

RTN Postal Entries

Hello everyone, it's great to see so many entries flooding in so soon, but a few words of warning and advice:

1) When dating those cheques, remember it is 2008 (not 2007, nor 2080, nor 1980)

2) If you send post dated cheques, please post date them!

3) Please, please, please do NOT send entries by Special or Recorded delivery. There is not always someone here to sign for it, so it will actually delay receipt of your entry!

4) When sending post dated cheques, remember the Registration Fee is to be paid now, not in August.

5) An SAE isn't complete without stamps!

6) An entry isn't complete without an SAE!

7) Please do not mail franked SAE's - it's a 24 mile round trip to the nearest post box that accepts franked mail, and if your boss finds out you'll get the sack!

But keep 'em coming!
