GB3WA is on air - GB3YS is on the air - GB3WSX is on the air - GB3WX currently off air - the team are working on new stubs

14/09/07  G3TFM Silent Key - It is with much sadness to report the untimely passing of Rob Scadden G3TFM, of Somerton on 31 August 2007, aged 59. Rob was a very pro-active 'hands on' supporter of TWXRG since it's inception in 1999 and was a founder member. Rob held posts of Secretary and Technical Manager giving up much of his spare time by supporting many TWXRG projects over the years. Rob was cremated at Yeovil Crematorium on Friday 14 Sept. He will be sadly missed.

23/08/07 Repeater Status - GB3WA, GB3YS and GB3WSX (the 4m beacon) are all on air. GB3WX currently off air due to stub failure caused some time ago during an electrical storm.

23/08/07 It seems as though Clem has worked his magic once again and GB3WA has lost the CTCSS hum that had been present for a number of weeks. The new antenna seems to be working well although one or two stations need a little extra power to gain access. Perhaps on the next 'cavity tweak' this can be rectified. All reports gratefully received.

GB3WA ANTENNA CHANGE TOOK PLACE ON WEDS 8TH AUGUST 2007

08/08/07   The 70cm Cushcraft Ringo Ranger was returned in to service this afternoon (08 Aug 07). On hand at the site were Dave G3ZXX, Clem G3UGR, Jon G0IUE and Emma who came for morale support and to see the horses !! The Repeater was off air for around 45 minutes and came back on at 3.53pm. All three guy wires were checked over as well as the mast fixings which despite the recent weather of late appeared to be in A1 Condition.

Action is in hand to remedy the CTCSS hum when the repeater goes in to transmit mode. Clem is on the case.

07/08/07   It is possible that the GB3WA antenna will be changed this week from the current centre fed dipole to a Cushcraft Ringo Ranger. Listen out on 433.025 Mhz for developments - G3ZXX and G0IUE may well be on site either on Weds or Thurs this week.

05/08/07   Just a quick update to advise members that as a result of the positive response received to the letters posted out in June, TWXRG will continue to maintain the three repeaters as well as GB3WSX on 70.007Mhz. That said our main goal will be to purchase/receive a new mast for the GB3WA/WX antennas. Without a new mast we wont be able to get WX back on the air. Any donations towards a new mast would be very much appreciated - email g0iue@aol.com for details.

A further update will be issued as soon as current members receive follow on letters explaining some changes to the way TWXRG is funded. It is hoped to have electronic payments available soon so that all users have at least an opportunity to support TWXRG.

16/06/07 All remaining members (those whose memberships are Current, Honourary and Life Time members) should in the next few days receive a letter by post informing them of some major developments at TWXRG. It is hoped that the membership will understand and support the proposals contained in the letter which will, in turn, ensure the future operation of GB3s WA/YS and WSX.

10/06/07 - There's been quite a lot going on at TWXRG of late and we hope to have some major news updates in the next few weeks. In the mean time please please please make use of the repeaters as they get quite lonely on their own. All reports or donations towards the repeaters are gratefully received. In the near future we hope to have a Paypal facility to assist in receiving contributions.

10/06/07 West Rally - Unfortunately due to a clash of dates we wont be having a stand at the forthcoming 'West Rally'. We do hope it's well attended and a successful event. Look out though for the GB3FH/FI and Trowbridge and District ARC stands - you'll be assured a warm welcome.
