The Two Moors Garden Railway Group

An informal, friendly group for Garden Railway Modellers in Mid and North Devon.

Hi there!
Welcome to the Two Moors Garden Railway Group website.

The Two Moors group is an informal group of like minded friends based in a geographical area between Dartmoor and Exmoor, England. We now number around 20 members. There is a broad spectrum of skills and abilities within the group, with scratch building and kit building well represented.

We all share a passion for railways in the garden, modelling in a scale 1:19 or 16mm to the foot or thereabouts.  This represents narrow gauge lines such as the world famous Lynton and Barnstaple railway with its 2 foot gauge (16x2 = 32mm gauge).  The slightly broader gauge 45mm represents 3 foot or metre gauge prototypes such as the Isle of Man and Irish railways.

'Thomas' is a product of the Roundhouse stable, that the Lady Anne model has been produced successfully for so long is proud testament for a quality product.

Live steam powered models predominate within the group, from vintage Archangel, to the very latest Roundhouse and Accucraft products. Battery powered models also play their part, being available to run at a moments notice, whilst the steamers are prepared.

I would like to thank Paul Cambridge for his unfailing support in helping with the creation of this, the Two Moors Garden Railway Group website.  Without his, support the project would not have seen the light of day, (Particularly if you live on Pluto....!)   I would also like to thank the members of the group that have supplied photos and information on their own lines.

Finally, a BIG thank you to all those members who have hosted group visits, big and small!

Keep up the good work!!!!!!!
