- The beginning

It was a mild night on the 2 of June 2003 when Vicky started feeling what she thought were a few kicks and punches in her stomach.  It had been a long day with the house in a complete shamosol, all kitchen appliances living in the lounge room, the ground floor covered in at least an inch of dust from the bashing up of tiles.  It had been 2 weeks now since we started laying the new tiles and the upcoming weekend would be the time to finish it all off.  Nicole had been over earlier in the afternoon for coffee with Vick and as it happened having a good laugh at watching me grimace in agony each time a chip of tile flew up and dug into my arm.

That afternoon I went to work and unknown to me at the time Serge and Nicole had come over with a jack hammer and finished off digging the rest of the tiles and glue, this being a supreme and very much well timed effort except.  With all the jack hammering we are now under the impression Josh thought his alarm clock had gone off and it was time to get out, hence the kicks Vick was feeling that night.  Later that night I waltzed in the door after another hard day in the mines to find Vick in a little distress and then myself in a little distress after I was invited to a viewing of 'The Show'.

As I was asleep for the next period of time this next section has been provided to me by a woman in labour, therefore there may be some indiscretions.  Apparently Vick stayed up that night watching TV (this is the part that is hard to believe and TV after midnight could put anyone to sleep, pregnant or not) until 3:30 when she rang the hospital and informed them she was in labour

Joshua was born after an arguaus 24 hour labour, arriving 3 weeks early which was accredited to the jack hammer being used to rip up the tiles in the Kitchen. This was a supreme effort by Serge and Nicole that was much appreciated.
