Beginning German classes are at 3 pm on Thursdays here at Twelve Acre Academy. Very informal use of the language provides exposure in farm and home life settings. Questions? Feel free to ask Susan Chaney or Sarah Wohltmann.
Interested in incubating eggs? Collect eggs and check out an incubator to take home. Loretta has duck eggs regularly available. Many of our other homeschool families have chickens. Just let us know and we'll set you up with what you need.
Plan to come by and try your hand at milking a goat. Milk is not pasteurized and therefore not intended for human consumption. However, if you bring a bottle, you can take home what you milk to "show Daddy".
Cow appreciation Day is fast approaching. We've collected a good bit of donated black paint. Do you have your white clothes collected? We'll be setting a date soon to make our costumes. Remeber to put Friday July 12, 2013 on your calendar so we can all meet at Chick-fil-a.
We need lots of outdoor paint to do all the class projects we have planned for the summer - birdouses, bird feeders, swords, shields, cow costumes. The more colors we get the better.
Come by on Tuesdays or Thursdays to meet the alpacas, find one you can bond with, and keep working with your adopted alpaca. Continue comiong once or twice a week. Then, at The County Fair in September, you get to show your alpaca off at the Alpaca show Wednesday night !!!!! There is a $15 fee to help offset the cost of having all alpacas vetted before the fair.
