Where did the Wet Bandits originate from?
Well, anyone who's seen Home Alone know who they are. But we're much more than just bandits. We're actually a game-wide pirate/ninja guild. The Wet Bandits as a hole began during a night of playing Rainbow Six: Vegas for the Xbox 360. After countlessly screaming "Harry, I'm coming in!!" and breaching through the church windows of Border Town, we decided to make a clan dedicated to the bad guys across the world. In Janurary 2007, Chester_Mester and DryvBy decided to create the official clan of [TWB] (or The Wet Bandits).
What does that have to do with ninjas and pirates?
Well, pirates were basically bandits of their time. They were also wet. So, they were wet bandits. Ninjas really have nothing to do with our clan/guild, but we like them and we basically were being "ninjas" in Rainbow Six: Vegas.
What do you guys do in games?
We are ultimately the bad guys. The Horde. The Sith. The Gangsters. We play to make sure people hate us and want us dead. When we are in groups with other people, we are the guys that ninja the rarest items and run. We're pirates and ninjas, remember? We're the bandits of the game. The baddies. We also like to play like we were really pirates or ninjas or bad guys, but we have fun within our own means.
Why would you want to play like that?
It truly makes the game more interesting. And hard. Think about trying to find a group when you're tagged with the name "The Wet Bandits". It also gives your character a class. Why would you want to be a villian against a superhero like Batman? Because you need them to complete the story. We just feel that being the bad guys in the game makes the game a bit more fun and hard for the others as well.
What about a game like Rainbow Six: Vegas. How can you be "bad guys"?
We're not going to even try with that. It's just a break from really being the bad guys. But we do like to act like ninjas in the game.
