TV Land first went on the air April 29, 1996. It was commercial free (aside from
retromercials) and shows aired uncut. A classic TV fan's dream. Over the years, the network
slowly began to lose what it originally was. It was unique, original and home to shows not
seen regularly since their days on Nick @ Nite, and even as far as TBS Superstation. Gunsmoke
would be their longest running program, airing for 7 years. The network seemed to go in phases.
In 1996 through 1998 it aired a variety of programming (a load of westerns, and rare
programming, sitcoms from the 60s, and variety shows of the 70s, Ed Sullivan, Sonny & Cher,
and later Flip Wilson). In 1998, it began leaning towards the 70s. In 1999, the network
went through a crimestoppers phase (adding Baretta, Kojak, Ironside, Dragnet, and Adam-12).
In 2000, it went rural - and military, but had lost Green Acres and Petticoat Junction. Added
was Andy Griffith, Gomer Pyle, USMC, McHale's Navy, The A-Team and Charlie's Angels.) In 2002
the network began to gear towards the more Kitschy stuff, Gilligan's Island, The Brady Bunch,
Happy Days, and among others. In 2003, it started going back to it's "roots" so to speak.
Sanford and Son returned, and would be followed by Bewitched (which never aired regularly on
TV Land), I Dream of Jeannie, and Mister Ed (Ed returns after a 5 year absence!). Green Acres
is returning in 2004, Flip Wilson is returning in July (tentative) and Carol Burnett & Friends
pops in mid-January!.
The premise of this site is to be the home for TV Land schedules. Thanks to Greg Brobeck
, a friend over the internet,
I have been able to acquire most schedules from 1998 through 2000. Please beware that they are
not "formatted," meaning, they are use this font.
I just don't have the time to make fancy grids. Please, if you use these schedules, you should
credit this site, it was very hard work for the person to type them up for me, and for me to
upload them on this site, so we appreciate it if you would credit us. A show log is in the works,
but it's not an easy task, lol.
