Today, we will make a forum set based on the sizes used in The Zone Supplies: Tube of choice: I am using art that is ©Venjamin Jimenez, http://www.venjamin-art.com/. It is used with a license through http://www.mypsptubes.com/ Template – Tag Template #4, made by me. You can get it on my blog. The zip file contains a template for both the tag and the avatar. Plug-Ins – Eye Candy 3.1, a free plug-in from Alienskin. You can grab it here. Optional – Penta: Jeans, you can grab it here (scroll down and choose “Garbage Collections Win/Mac’) Font of choice – I am using Angelina. You can grab it here.
Alrighty, let’s get started!
Open the tag and avatar templates and your tube in PSP.
Duplicate them (SHIFT+D) and close the originals.
Minimize the avatar template for now.
On the tag template, delete the credit layer (top) and the background layer (bottom).
Decide if you want to use the oval or the diamond as your center shape, and delete the layers you don’t need.
For this tag, we will use the diamond, so delete the oval layer and the oval outline layer.
Selections>Select All (or CTRL+A)
Selections>Float (or CTRL+F)
Selections>Defloat (or CTRL+SHIFT+F)
Add a new raster layer.
On the new layer, flood fill with a color of choice. I am using #d3284e.
Selections>Select None (or CTRL+D)
Delete the original template layer (“Top Right Corner Accent” layer)
On your flood filled layer –
Apply Eye Candy>Glow, Width: 5, Opacity: 100, Opacity Dropoff: Medium, Color of choice (I used white).
Now, you are going to do all those same things, this time on the “Bottom Left Corner Accent” layer. Save your progress.
When you are done with that, click on your “Bottom Rectangle” layer.
Selections>Select All (or CTRL+A)
Selections>Float (or CTRL+F)
Selections>Defloat (or CTRL+SHIFT+F)
Add a new raster layer.
On the new layer, flood fill with a color of choice. I am using #416985.
Selections>Select None (or CTRL+D)
Delete the original template layer (“Bottom Rectangle” layer)
On your flood filled layer –
Apply Penta: Jeans, Amount: 30, Border Width: 3
Then, apply Eye Candy>Glow, Width: 5, Opacity: 100, Opacity Dropoff: Medium, Color: White
Now, repeat the above steps, this time on your “Top Rectangle” layer. Save your progress.
Selections>Select All (or CTRL+A)
Selections>Float (or CTRL+F)
Selections>Defloat (or CTRL+SHIFT+F)
Add a new raster layer.
On the new layer, flood fill with a color of choice. I am using # d3284e.
Selections>Select None (or CTRL+D)
Delete the original template layer (“Bottom Ric Rac” layer)
On your flood filled layer -
Apply Eye Candy>Glow, Width: 5, Opacity: 100, Opacity Dropoff: Medium, Color: White
Repeat these steps on the “Top Ric Rac” layer. Save your progress.
Next, click on your “Diamond” layer.
Selections>Select All (or CTRL+A)
Selections>Float (or CTRL+F)
Selections>Defloat (or CTRL+SHIFT+F)
Add a new raster layer.
On the new layer, flood fill with a color of choice. I am using white.
Selections>Select None (or CTRL+D)
Delete the original template layer (“Diamond” layer)
Paste your tube above this diamond layer.
Resize if necessary (I resized my tube 80%).
Arrange it so that the part you want is showing inside the “Diamond Outline”.
Apply a drop shadow – I used settings: 4, 4, 40, 8, black.
Click back onto the flood filled diamond layer.
Selections>Select All (or CTRL+A)
Selections>Float (or CTRL+F)
Selections>Defloat (or CTRL+SHIFT+F)
Selections>Invert (or CTRL+SHIFT+I)
Click back onto your tube layer, and hit delete.
Selections>Select None (or CTRL+D)
Crop around the edges of your tag, so that any extra part of your tube is cropped away.
Save your progress.
Next, click on your “Diamond Outline” layer.
Selections>Select All (or CTRL+A)
Selections>Float (or CTRL+F)
Selections>Defloat (or CTRL+SHIFT+F)
Add a new raster layer.
On the new layer, flood fill with a color of choice. I am using #d3284e.
Selections>Select None (or CTRL+D)
Delete the original template layer (“Diamond Outline” layer)
On your flood filled outline layer –
Apply Eye Candy>Glow, Width: 5, Opacity: 100, Opacity Dropoff: Medium, Color of choice (I used white).
Save your progress.
Next, click on your “
Selections>Select All (or CTRL+A)
Selections>Float (or CTRL+F)
Selections>Defloat (or CTRL+SHIFT+F)
Add a new raster layer.
On the new layer, flood fill with a color of choice. I am using #d3284e.
Selections>Select None (or CTRL+D)
Delete the original template layer (“
Paste your tube above this new circle layer.
Resize if necessary (I did not resize).
Arrange it so that the part you want is showing inside the “Circle Outline”.
Change the Blend Mode of your tube layer. I used “Luminance.”
Click back onto the flood filled circle layer.
Selections>Select All (or CTRL+A)
Selections>Float (or CTRL+F)
Selections>Defloat (or CTRL+SHIFT+F)
Selections>Invert (or CTRL+SHIFT+I)
Click back onto your tube layer, and hit delete.
Selections>Select None (or CTRL+D)

Now, click on the “Top Left Circle Outline” layer.
Selections>Select All (or CTRL+A)
Selections>Float (or CTRL+F)

Selections>Select None (or CTRL+D)
Delete the original template layer (“Top Left Circle Outline” layer)
On your flood filled outline layer –
Apply Penta: Jeans, Amount: 30, Border Width: 3
Then, apply Eye Candy>Glow, Width: 5, Opacity: 100, Opacity Dropoff: Medium, Color: White
Save your progress.
Now, repeat the above steps, this time on the “
Save.
Now, add your copyright, license, and tagger info.
Finally, add your name.
I am using font Angelina, size 100, Bold, color white.
I then applied a gradient glow, width 10, in #d3284e.
Apply a drop shadow – I used 4, 4, 40, 8, black. Repeat drop shadow.
Save as .png file and you are done with your tag!
For your avatar, you will pretty much repeat the steps that you used on the corresponding tag layers.
So, you will first delete the background layer.
Then,
Click on the “Accent” layer.
Selections>Select All (or CTRL+A)
Selections>Float (or CTRL+F)
Selections>Defloat (or CTRL+SHIFT+F)
Add a new raster layer.
On the new layer, flood fill with a color of choice. I am using #d3284e.
Selections>Select None (or CTRL+D)
Delete the original template layer (“Accent” layer)
On your flood filled layer –
Apply Eye Candy>Glow, Width: 5, Opacity: 100, Opacity Dropoff: Medium, Color of choice (I used white).
Next, click on your “Circle” layer.
Selections>Select All (or CTRL+A)
Selections>Float (or CTRL+F)
Selections>Defloat (or CTRL+SHIFT+F)
Add a new raster layer.
On the new layer, flood fill with a color of choice. I am using #d3284e.
Selections>Select None (or CTRL+D)
Delete the original template layer (“Circle” layer)
Selections>Select All (or CTRL+A)
Selections>Float (or CTRL+F)
Selections>Defloat (or CTRL+SHIFT+F)
Add a new raster layer.
On the new layer, flood fill with a color of choice. I am using #416985.
Selections>Select None (or CTRL+D)
Delete the original template layer (“Circle Outline” layer)
On your flood filled outline layer –
Apply Penta: Jeans, Amount: 30, Border Width: 3
Then, apply Eye Candy>Glow, Width: 5, Opacity: 100, Opacity Dropoff: Medium, Color: White
Finally add your name or initial inside the circle.
I am using font Angelina, size 100, Bold, color white.
I then applied a gradient glow, width 10, in #d3284e.
Apply a drop shadow – I used 4, 4, 40, 8, black. Repeat drop shadow.
Save as .png file and you are done!
