A room for writers

Submitting

IMPORTANT: Don't send any short stories or poetry in that you intend to get published yourself; publishers may not want to publish something that's already been exposed to the public. Excerpts of novels or long stories are okay, as long as you don't send more than, say, two chapters' worth.  I learned this the hard way, and so have others. Only send in nonessential work, to get criticism on your writing style, concepts, characterization, grammar, and writing skills as a whole. Thankyou.

P.S: If you want a private review of a work or work in progress, just make a note of it in the e-mail, and I won't post it and will respond via e-mail, so your publication ought not to be compromised. Anything that has no note (just a "this is for your eyes only, don't post it on your site" or something will do fine; that's all that's needed) gets posted, so be sure to include it. I'm told, by sources I've hardly paid off at all, that I give good advice.

Anyone who wants to submit a story or chapter for scrutiny should remember a few things: I'll take just about any story as long as it's not graphically violent, sexual to the point of softcore pornography, or too long (let's face it; sometimes constraints must be bureacratic in nature). I personally would rather deal with fiction, but I suppose I'm openminded enough to accept whatever you hip youngsters with your bellbottoms and rock music toss at me. And if you're wondering whether your piece is too long, it probably is, but lets put the limit at 20,000 words anyway.

Send your postings to atutlens@hotmail.com. If there is something wrong with the story, I'll send you an e-mail detailing the nature of it. And I'm a writer myself, so I know better than many how to analyze entries.

I know young writers often don't have the time to edit or proofread, but please just make sure your work is readable, and not in some goofy, wingding font that you can't read without a decoder ring. And write if you want your e-mail address to be displayed along with your work.

Put a name (preferably not a real one, until I figure out how to work the whole sign-in accounts thing) on your work, so we'll know who to blame --I mean, give credit to for the work. Hey, thought just occurred. Put the title and your preferred author name in the subject bar of the e-mail.

Again, it's atutlens@hotmail.com, so send the crap out of your stories!
