| Club Needs A Range |
Club Needs A Range
Tussey Mountain Junior 4-H Rifle Club has never owned a
rifle range. Several ranges have been
used through the years due to the kindness of supporters of the 4-H Club, but
always at the mercy of the range owners or operators. The ranges that have been used include the US
Army Reserve Center, The Outdoor Sportsman’s Club, the State Game Commission
range at Scotia, the Western Pennsylvania Highpower League range in Reade Township,
the Penn State
range in the White
Building, and a private
outdoor range. The kindness of these
various supporters have kept the program alive, but continuation of the program has been on a
year-to-year basis. Only by the
dedicated devotion of the club’s founder and lead instructor, Ernest Harpster,
has Tussey Mountain Junior 4-H Rifle Club been able to survive. As many of you may be aware, a new
building is being built for the Army Reserve. We are seeking a
new location to conduct our training. If you know of a social
club/church with room enough for our activities that may be willing
to sponsor our Club, please ask a representative to contact Greg
Harpster (gharpster@rtd.com; 814-234-8087).
