Chapter 1
The wind howled through the dark, dense forest that was surrounded by gloomy grey clouds which filled the orange & purple sky. Wolves howled into the sunset and owls hooted in the trees. Onyx woke up from the sound of the creatures around her. Onyx's dark eyes opened and she breathed in the dark essence around her which smelt like tears and broken hearts. Onyx leapt to her feet feeling groggy & weak. She walked along a smashed concrete path which lead to a dreary old house that Esmeralda her grandmother lived in. She was a dark spirit just like Onyx and was wise and kind. The house was not far now, only a few steps away. Once she arrived at the house she opened the huge brass door. 'Creaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaak' the door moaned as it was opened so far that you could see the long hall which lead to the dormitory. "Good Evening Onyx" said a old voice. It was Onyx's grandmother. "I am here to ask for a certain potion, a potion to take souls...away from the bad and to make the bad become a dark spirit" Onyx asked. Esmerelda suddenly looked weak-not as strong as she normally is. "Im sorry grandmother, I don't really need it!". "Don't worry Onyx, its not that-I just have bad memories about the spell...it is how I became a dark spirit. I was accidently hit by it!". Onyx thought for a second...'Was this what happened to everyone that is a dark spirit?'
