Testimonials

Just wanted to let you know your condo had everything anybody would need to have a good time, only thing we had to buy was a cork screw. lol  Charlie and Kim of Tennessee (June 2009)

Thanks for making our first stay in Daytona so pleasant and effortless!  We had a great time.  The condo was perfect for the two of us -- and we loved the convenience of it - parking right at our door, the pool and the beach just steps away!  We had everything we could need right at our feet.  The week turned out just beautiful for our beach wedding.  If we are ever in the area again, we will definitely look you up!  - The newleyweds, Ellen and Vinnie Murabito, Woodbridge, Va.
-Ellen (May 2009)

"The Condo is immaculate and has all the amenities of home.  Walk out of the front door and you are steps from the beach.  Neighborhood is quiet and safe but close to all the hot spots of Daytona Beach.  Owner is great to deal with...  honest, helpful, and a great communicator.  Would highly recommend a stay at this gem of a condo....  I know I will be back!!!"  Luna M.  Nov. 2004

I loved it there. I came there for my last 3 months before moving out of state and loved the opportunity to stay there before moving to a snow state. It was definitely a wonderful goodbye to Florida, and very pleasant. It is clean, and safe, and a great area for a family or just a get-away. Don't let this pass you by!

Oh Jane-
We had the best time!!! The unit was way more than I expected.  I brought everything and didnt even unpack most of my stuff.  You even had coffee.  My husband was very impressed.  We unfolded the chairs and sat on the porch.  It was so nice. I cannot say how much fun we had.  The people are so nice, I dont think I've ever stayed anywhere with nicer people. And the restaurant... It was delicious and cheap.  We were very impressed.  It was a whole different atmosphere than being on the other side of the beach in the "Party Zone".  We appreciated this so much more.  We would love to rent for next years race.  Also, My mom is interested in staying... and I would like to stay again with my kids in a couple of weeks?? Think we could set something up?

I was extremely impressed!! My husband is very picky and he was suprised at how nice it was.  He also said that I did better picking our place to stay this year than any other year, and we usually stay at Ocean walk, not to mention we have been coming for 8 years. Thank you so much again, we enjoyed our stay so much. Thank you -  It was awesome!!!

Pirates Cove History

In the year 1789, the Famed Pirate "Captain Henry Morgan," after sinking a Spanish galleon in the straits of Florida, was caught in a horrendous storm.  His main sail broken, from a 20lb shot during the battle, he was limping back to Port Royal his natural hide-out.  The ship was caught and almost sank in a fierce summer storm.  He and his men were forced to land just south of this location in what is now called Ponce Inlet for repairs.  Worried about capture Captain Morgan and his men traveled up the coast and buried their ill gotten bounty on this very spot.

In 1913, Harold Sitdorf discovered a treasure chest containing over 280 lb of gold and silver.  This treasure would be worth $1,335,500 at today's prices.  Upon returning to Cincinnati, Ohio, Harold vowed to return one day and build a hotel, restaurant and bar resort on this site.

In 1973, his great grandson, Dan Cinhouser, fulfilled that dream by constructing Pirates Cove.  After many owners, the restaurant and bars were sold to descendants of Captain Morgan.  Oh!  I almost forgot to tell you the best part.  It is rumored that another treasure chest containing gold, silver and jewels is still located near this spot.  Over the years many people, both locals and tourist have found coins and jeweled trinkets in the ocean and on the beach.  If you have time, we hope you will try your luck at discovery.  Maybe you'll be lucky too!
