Turtle Rock Against Cell Towers

Residents United to Make a Difference!

After considering the impacts of Newpath's proposal for 23 street light antenna sites in residential Turtle Rock, the City Council REJECTED Newpath's proposal.

Around 100 Turtle Rock residents came to city hall and waited three hours to show their disaproval of the project.  THANK YOU to all the residents who wrote letters and those who appeared in person!

Newpath may go to court to try to force their ugly antennas on street lights throughout Turtle Rock, but the City Council clearly came out in support of the Irvine residents even in the face of this threat!  Mayor Kang, Mayor Pro Tem Larry Agran, Councilmembers Christina Shea, Stephen Choi and Beth Krom all heard the residents' concerns and voted to reject the proposal.

Please send them a note of thanks for standing up for our neighborhood.  They are elected--we should let them know we appreciate their support.

We need you there now more than ever! Bring your neighbors and kids!

Tuesday, August 11 about 5 pm at City Hall.

Newpath has informed the City that they actually plan to install over 100 antennas on 23 replacement light poles here in residential Turtle Rock. Do the math... only three antennas will fit on each array. This will require not one, but TWO arrays (rings) of antennas on each pole!

Show the City Council that as our elected council members they must vote for our homes, property values, and the preservation of our beautiful neighborhood.

It is crucial that we fill the stadium. PLEASE plan to attend.
The public speaking portion is closed so it won't last as long.

The Planning Commission has denied the NewPath proposal two times now. On July 28th, the Irvine City Council voted 4-0 to CONTINUE Newpath's appeal to the Tuesday, August 11th Irvine City Council Meeting. Stay tuned for further information.

The Planning Commission has denied the NewPath proposal two times now, but the FINAL DECISION will be made
on next Tuesday, July 28, 5:30 pm at the Irvine City Council Meeting at City Hall, Alton and Barranca.

YOUR PRESENCE AT THIS MEETING IS ESSENTIAL.  Now more than ever we need your support at the meeting.   Make it a priority to come!

Signed, Your Concerned Neighbors.

This web site was set up in April 2006 by a couple of your Turtle Rock neighbors who volunteered to help keep you informed about the looming plan by the Sprint cell phone company to install 10 commercial antennas throughout residential Turtle Rock (and now the proposal by Newpath to install 23 commercial cell antennas throughout residential Turtle Rock).

We need you to help us, your concerned neighbors, oppose this plan and find an alternative, if we must, that is completely hidden and not in the middle of our residences!

We believe that this proposal is just the start and that if we allow it to succeed there will be nothing to stop other cell companies from adding their ten antennas, and then another ten, and another ten and so on, to our neighborhood.

We love Irvine for a number of reasons and one is that all utilities are underground.  There are no power lines, cable lines, telephone lines, antennas or other visible utilities to clutter our vistas and sight lines.  Let's keep it that way!

TELL YOUR FRIENDS AND NEIGHBORS ABOUT THE PROBLEM!

SPREAD THIS WEB ADDRESS!

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT AND ASSISTANCE.

We are not paid, we are not Web professionals, we are just concerned residents using the free tools available on the Internet to help us unite to oppose the proliferation of ugly cell antennas in beautiful, residential Turtle Rock in Irvine, California.
