Notes: Foreign nationals in Turkey can also get married in their respective consulates if it is possible under their national law. However, if one of the parties is a Turkish citizen, marriage can only be solemnized by the Turkish authorities.

IRISH NATIONALS MARRYING IN TURKEY
Irish Nationals wishing to marry in Turkey must first of all apply to the Dept Of Foreign Affairs for a Certificate of Freedom to Marry, also known as a "Certificate of Nulla Osta". This should be applied for at least 4 months before the date of your wedding. A Solicitor must sign the Affidavit before you return your completed Form to the Dept of Foreign Affairs. If there are no discrepancies with your form, it will be processed and forward to the Irish Embassy in Turkey, who will process your Certificate. It can be collected from the Embassy approx 3 weeks before the date of your marriage.
