+3 / -1 Progression

There are many progressions to choose from.
Some seem to work better than others - so this
is my attempt at one which I believe works very
well.

It's based on playing a straight up number.

We note the balance after a win
If the balance is more than what it was after the last win,
we simply remove 1 unit from the bet amount.

If the balance is less than what it was after the last win,
we simply add 3 units to the bet amount.

If the balance is identical to what it was after the last win,
we keep the unit size as it is.

Let's look at how a number shows up during a sample run :

For the sake of example, a random number will be played (#0)

Here is how this number 0 shows up during this sample test.

unit size...spins to show....balance...progression change
1...3...+33...keep bet at 1 unit. (new high)
1...70...-1...add 3 to bet amount.
4...58...-89...add 3 to bet amount.
7...10...+93...return bet to the min. amount. (new high)
1...26...+103...keep bet at 1 unit. (new high)
1...9...+130...keep bet at 1 unit. (new high)
1...15...+151...keep bet at 1 unit. (new high)
1...128...+59...add 3 to bet amount.
4...33...+71...subtract 1 from bet amount.
3...10...+149...subtract 1 from bet amount.
2...7...+207...return bet to the min. amount (new high)
1...62...+181...add 3 to bet amount.
4...34...+189...subtract 1 from bet amount.
3...3...+288...return bet to min. amount. (new high)
1...10...+314...keep bet at 1 unit. (new high)

etc.

This small example covers 478 spins and ends +314 units.

Below is a longer sample using Roulette Xtreme.

====================================

Is it possible to back this up with math ?
I believe so, yes.

On average we can expect a number to show once during 37 spins.

This means that there will be times when the number shows on spin #1
and also times when it may go for 200-300 or more spins before showing.

But.. the average will be 1 per 37 spins.

So what ?
Well, the progression mathamatically has to reduce itself - just due to the
math of the game and the above averages.

We actually achieve a "balance" with the progression,
because every time the number goes past 37 spins we increase.
Every time the number doesn't go past 37 we reduce.

Since the average will be once every 37 spins, we know the progression
will keep itself in control.

So why is the progression +3 and -1 and not just +1 and -1 ?
Simple as well.
If we use anything less, the results are terrible.

If we use +1 and -1 here is what will happen -
Overall we will lose to the house edge because the progression
will keep itself in balance, but there will be no profit.

By kicking it up to a higher ratio, such as +3 and -1 we can
actually jump back into profit and then reset the bet amounts.

=============================

Update :

After further testing and Roulette Extreme code, this progression
is far too risky to use as stated above.

The code can be found here
