TULONG PANGKABUHAYAN (LIVELIHOOD)

Let us help in providing livelihood or means of earning a living to our needy people in Talisay Camarines Norte. Let us ignite the local economy. Let us make use of their idle hands. Let us reduce unemployment. Let us activate their bodies and minds. This website is dedicated to those who are able and willing to help and share their blessings to the less fortunate, and to the people who are recipients of this livelihood assistance. BACKGROUND

Some members of the Talisayonako yahoogroup went into the discussion how to help the needy people of Talisay. They recognize that many families have no means of livelihood. Many have no jobs, no opportunities, no decent homes, no education, no chance to go abroad, or be employed, have big families in uncontrolled population explosion, which in turn breeds drug abuse, thievery and gambling (hueteng). From the forum, we came to know that many lucky people both locally and abroad want to help. But they dont like to engage in dole-outs or outright giving, which are self-defeating and have no long term benefits. They would like to help in livelihood (kabuhayan) program that will generate self-sustaining income to the families, and boost the economy of the town.

We recognize that we cannot help all people. We will start small or small scale and help only a few selected families in the meantime. We are only one of the many organizations helping Talisay in many aspects of social concern. We join them in this worthy endeavors, as one of such organizations.

PIGLETS ROLL-OVER PROGRAM

Out of the initial discussions, we thought of starting a PIGLETS ROLL-OVER PROJECT. The concept is not new and had been done by many towns and rural areas for the last 30 years or so. The concept of this program is to give one BREEDER-PIGLET to a qualified family, as initial capital, without any obligation, except for this family to raise this pig into maturity and to produce about 6 to 16 piglets in one year. They spend for the feeds & other expenses. From the yield, they must pay back 2 piglets to our group, so that we can give them to other 2 families in the future. After one year, the family will own the mother pig plus the balance of the piglets, anywhere from 4 to 14. All future production of pigs are theirs, as their livelihood. The only remaining obligation of that family is to help monitor their future recipients to preserve the cycle of the same process of free piglets roll-over program. In effect, recipient families become also future volunteers and partners in this humanitarian venture.

INITIAL LAUNCHING OF THE PROJECT

We can never succeed in our project unless we have trusted volunteers in Talisay. The volunteers time and efforts are in fact their own donation to the group, which cannot be quantified in money. We express our gratitude to them. They are vital partners in this humanitarian activity.

Donors have entrusted their donations to our group, because of their confidence and faith in our efforts to manage well this program. In return, we commit ourselves to remain honest, open and transparent in all our dealings and management. We will report all donations regularly how the funds are spent and where it is being spent.
