Tsuko, formerly known as Togashi Tsuko, the Claw of the Empire and yojimbo to the emperor. Tsuko started her life as any born to a noble family. Her first name was Mirumoto Tsuko, it was later changed when she joined the Togashi "Family" as a tattooed monk. By this time she was already a samurai.
Tsuko's life has not been a very rough one for the first part of her life. Mostly because she was part of a noble family. Her training as a samurai of the Mirumoto family taught her extreme proficency with the katana, allowing her to use it with ease one-handed. She also became what is known as ambidexterious, meaning she uses each hand equally as well.
Taking this into account she started to learn the fighting style of her former clan, the Dragon, known as Niten, or two sword fighting. This is the basis for her speciality, which requires two swords. During the clan wars she fought against the Shadowlands with her friends under the command of the Black Lion Toturi. After Toturi later became emperor of Rokugan she was enlisted into his service as a yojimbo.
During this time she is expected to protect his life. In a trip to the lands of the Scorpian clan Toturi's "caravan" was attacked by Shadowlands forces. Tsuko was the only one to survive, but not without being injured herself. She came out of the battle mostly unharmed thanks to her knowledge of the niten style. But her worst injury happened to be the one that did no damage, she failed in her duty, protecting Toturi.
She came out of the battle and found Toturi's heir, Akodo Kaneka, whom happened to be outside of the battle looking for his father, only to find him dying, to go back to the palace and inform the people of his death. She also at that moment told him a small secret, one she had been hiding for a while. In telling him this she knew it would only make her fate in the empire worse.
She was tainted, though only slightly. She told him this in addition to the fact that she knew that in failing in her duty so horribly she would be cast into the world of the ronin. From here she walked out of the history of Rokugan, or so people thought.

A few years later . . . |

People thought that Togashi Tsuko had disappeared from all history in Rokugan after the incident with the emperor. Little did they know that in the first few years she did exactly what Toturi did during his time as a ronin, built herself a band of ronins. These ronins of all the great clans and the minor clans have been in many Rokugani battles, unbeknownst to the samurai of the empire. They are in and out leaving a trail of the dead bodies of the enemy in their wake.
The ronins of this band known as Kenshin taught each other how their former clan fights and how to defend against it should it ever come down to it. Using the fighting styles of all the clans is a hard enough, but learning them all and being able to switch from one to another with ease is far harder. This ronin band of Tsuko's has on occasion turned the tide of many battles for the empire without anyone even realizing it.
Quite recently, with a little begging, Tsuko managed to talk a friend of hers into fixing a problem she has had since she was thirteen. Because of her armor, Tsuko's growth plates have been knocked out. After a talk with her friend, Ceres, she got the problem resolved, with a Restoration spell Tsuko's plates where fixed up and she found herself higher up, if fact eleven inches higher up.
Shortly after, Ceres and Tsuko got up the nerve to tell each other way they act different around the other. They both admitted to loving the other, a surprise to the other. They had a short time of courting when they found out, after a check-up for Tsuko being sick.
Here, they found out that Tsuko was pregnant. Quickly they tossed aside formallity at the new shock, soon after they decided marriage was their best path, something they gladly went through with in a small ceremony but two weeks after the joyous news. |
Dispite the fact of her soon becoming a mother, and now a wife, Tsuko has refused to leave the gumi without a daimyo. And to her pleasure, her new husband did not try to pressure her into leaving it as such.
Most recently, the Anasowata family has been overjoyed with the birth of their daughter, Shion. Their black haired baby has become one of the center's of their attention. She has infact, become the most prominant point in their lives and is so very rarely out of Tsuko's sight. Before Shion was even a month old, Tsuko had taken the girl with her to work. Tsuko and Ceres are even planning to take her with when they finally have a chance to go on their honeymoon.
