Welcome to our website.
The Tri-States Rock and Mineral Club is located in Montague, NJ. We are located in the Northwest corner of New Jersey, where NY, NJ, and Pa. meet. We are a small, informal club made up of interested amateur rockhounds who are in the hobby for the pure enjoyment of rockhounding. We attend local shows, field trips, and many of us are members of multiple other clubs. We became organized as a club in 2006 and have grown and become more knowledgeable and involved in the hobby ever since. Soon, we hope to open our club up to others who would like to explore and learn about the interesting geological features of the Tri-states area.
As of now, we do not organize any official field trips or outings. We do not currently have any official meetings, except when we all get together on a field trip. Most of our trips are purely spur-of-the-moment and unplanned. Most of our trips to shows are as customers, but recently, we have set up at a couple local shows as vendors.
Our future plans are to become a formal club, organize formal field trips, have organized meetings and allow in new members. This will all take time to put together, so keep checking back for changes and updates!
This website is a gateway to information we have collected over the last few years to help aid in anyone interested in the geology of this area and to allow others to share in our wonderful hobby.
