The
front door welcomes you into the gracious home. On the right as
you enter is the formal living room. The present owner, Karen,
told me that the Trunnells called it "The Music Room". There is a
beautiful stairway to the second floor in the entryway. To the
left of the door is currently a large formal dining area, but it was
probably the original parlor.
The Music Room
The Family had their piano in this room along with their many musical intruments. Henry and Mary Jane had a total of twelve children, but we don't know which children particularly enjoyed music. They hired teachers from New York and other places to tutor the children and may well have hired music teachers as well. The present family uses this area as their formal living room. They have it furnished in beautiful period furniture.
Dining Room
The gorgeous sideboard in the dining room was from a bar in the Southern part of Bullitt Co and was purchased by the present owners. It is huge, but is in three sections and therefore, was able to be moved to it's present location. The owner has furnished the house with beautiful antiques and period furnishings. This is the room that I thought was likely originally a parlor.

Wooden Pegs Used Instead of Nails
This
picture shows one of the original pegs used in the construction of the
house. This particular peg is in the stairway to the basement and
has been cutaway so you can see the interior construction.
