ETAC Troop of the Year 2003, 2004

Troop 621 began in 1986, chartered by Alpine Church of Christ, Longview Texas.  Ron McGregor was the first Scoutmaster and served in that position for about ten years.  The troop started with 6 scouts and now averages 40-50 scouts.

Four years after the troop began, Steven McClurg was the first boy to start and finish the Eagle Rank in Troop 621.  Since then a total of fifty-one Scouts have earned the rank of Eagle Scout.  All Eagle Scouts are listed on the Eagle Hall of Fame page.  The rate of boys reaching Eagle Scout in Troop 621 is much higher than the national average.

Chris Norwood is the current Scoutmaster. The troop meets at 7 PM on Tuesdays at Alpine Church of Christ, by the water tower at the intersection of Loop 281 and US 259, except when there is a Patrol Leader Conference or school holiday.  If interested in joining the troop, please contact us at the email address below.  The address is checked a couple of times/month.

Former Troop 621 members: If you have more history that you want to share about Troop 621, please send an email.
