Noir

Welcome to Noir's page.

                                     Days from a dinner plate...

The little black horse sat in a broker lot with a high risk of being sent to slaughter, possibly only days from sitting on a dinner plate in France, Belgium, or Japan.

His bail was paid by a compassionate person so that "Another Chance for Horses" (AC4H) could pull him to safety. He was then brought to Massachusetts where he was donated to New England Equine Rescues for the treatment of his sarcoids.

and for '09

Liz Russell - Noir's best friend, rider, and Reiki giver.

Noir is a 9 year old, black horse

Expressive, sound, intelligent, & handsome.

Noir closely resembles one of the horses used in the movie "Flika".

(He has some of the same mannersim too... could he be a movie double? We will probably never know).

New ear...

Noir's ear sarcoid, and the one on his sheath, have been removed.  He was put under general anesthesia, which can be very dangerous for a horse, but Noir did GREAT!  He is a little lonely, and looks forward to being back with all the girls at Windkist on Friday the 15th.

Release paperwork from Myhre Clinic.

Myhre again... :(

Mary was called to Windkist one evening by a Windkist student... Noir had cut open his chest sarcoid.

Mary cleaned it and called the vet.

Mary kept contact with Myhre clinic who said it could wait till Dr Parrot could come out in a few days. Thank you Dora for keeping it clean and applying compresses to help with the swelling.

Unfortunately, shortly after the vet visit... Noir did it again - a much bigger and deeper wound landed him back at Myhre clinic. He was laid up ay Myhre for over  3 weeks to monitor healing.

Again, Thank you Dora for tending to the wound at Windkist - and Thank you Julie for trucking him back to Myhre at cost.

Myhre suggested we find a place with a run and electric topped fencing where Noir could finish healing because the bill was getting quite high.  Ellen Alden had the perfect set up and graciously offered Noir a temporary stay. It took another month for the wound to close completely.

 ALL HEALED :)

There are no hard feelings with Windkist. NEER would recommend them as a fun place for kids to learn to ride and, would put another horse in need there if one came up more suitable for their program.

Noir needed a different set up.

Thank you foster mom Tish and volunteer Dora for all of your donated services to NEER and Noir.  It helped us to help others as well. :)
