Midnight Magica is an ezine created by writers from the Midnight Writers Guild. It is being put together to learn perfect the skill of writing and for entertainment purposes and will contain a wide range of topics including such areas as movie listings, subculture views, occult and mysticism, psychology, philosophy, science, seasonal celebrations, short stories, public domain stories and many other topics. This is an exercise for the members to put together an ezine. Each will write in the area they have interest. This will include poetry or short stories, reviews and announcements. We call our genre Noire, meaning the darker topical areas such as science fiction, horror, fantasy and light erotica for fiction writers. The ezine is not a vehicle in and of itself to teach or train writers, but for them to get exposure and hone their skills. Midnight Magica is the ezine we publish online to provide a free service to new writers. It will be released quarterly. All sites will have a return either on the Nav Bar or on the bottom of the Home page. If you go out of Midnight Magica on a link you need to use the back arrow to return. If it is to a single site possibly in the last issue there should be a link to return at the bottom of the article. If you are in a category that has articles accessed directly from the page you must go back to that page on the Nav Bar to access the other in the list because it is an entrance page. Each topical area that has a linked site will have an Entry Page on this site to the area. It is easy to navigate if you follow these procedures.

You can join the Guild by becoming a member of our MySpace and we will put bulletins up and blogs periodically. No one is forced to submit anything as the Admins will supply articles if there are none from the outside but it is advantageous for you to be seen if you have an article here.

All submissions should be in the genre and style quoted on the above. Send in Times New Roman 14. We reserve the right to formatting and font choice. We will edit typos, missed words and transposed words only. If the submission is too difficult to follow we may send it back with suggestions on rewrite. Please make sure you check spelling and grammar before submitting. Graphics may be sent in but should be in photobucket website size, (320 x 240). We reserve the right to substitute another picture if we deem the one sent not appropriate and increase or decrease the size. We accept NO pornographic materials including nudes if you are a dark artist. We do accept light erotic if it is in good taste and minimal. There is no pay involved as this is an exercise in writing or art for those who would like exposure. Come join us and submit your works.

Submission dates are: December 15, March 15, June 15 and September 15.

Note: Being a group that promotes new writers, we try to conscientiously acknowledge copyright issues. Very often we are unable to locate the authors of certain works or they do not respond. Our aim in writing is for improvement and the free distribution of materials for educational purposes. Generally all excerpted materials are given the proper author recognition and many times with a link back to their site. We acknowledge the time and effort each writer puts into researching and writing materials. Because we are nonprofit we feel if not in public domain that the free distribution of materials benefits not only the public reading it but the authors themselves to draw readers to their sites as well as provide a service to those interested in the subject matter and in so doing we feel since we are a non profit source that we fulfill the idea of Fair Use with copyrighted articles as described in 17 U.S.C § 107.

I have been a resident most of my life in Southern California. Yes, the blond California girl. Blond suits me! I grew up in a small town and went to the local college to study Music and Psychology. I was a vocalist but opted to get married and raise four kids. In the time that transpired I went to school for Massage and became an instructor in a branch of the Los Angeles School of Massage. I am a spiritualist and took many classes at a local Metaphysical Center. I took classes in Astrology, Palmistry, Psychic Art, Numerology, Tarot, Meditation, Trance and many others. I belonged to a Channeling group for a few years called Infinite Seekers. I have been writing off and on most of my life and have gotten serious about it now in my later years.

I also have ordinations from three organizations but at this time I am not a practicing spiritual advisor. My present project is doing paranormal research with my three daughters for the Paranormal Research Annex.

I spent my formative years in Japan, and danced in the Royal kabuke theatre in Tokyo and Sasabo. I am originally from Los Angeles, but have lived the last 10 years in Denver, Colorado. I was born in a hospital when my brother was at home watching Bela Lagosi's Dracula. That said, I was like Wednesday Addams as a child, and was a first generation Goth and Punk. I lived in San Francisco and Hollywood. My lifestyle has remained on the same silver thread all my life. I am into anything dark, currently dark and bloody things thrill me. I love all music, but my faves are Goth, Deathrock,Trance and Gregorian Chants by nuns. I am a published writer in such magazines as the New Yorker. I write for the GraveYard Press as well as Midnight Magica. I am a graphic artist and previously a hair dresser with Vidal Sassoon in Hollywood.

I was born in Kentucky where my grandmother’s family had settled around 1795 shortly after it became a state. My life was very uneventful. All we did is run the hills with our dogs; hunt and fish.

I am a member of Sons of Confederate Veterans, Society for Creative Anachronism, a member of the Lions Club, Masonic Order, Sons of the Revolutionary War Veterans and a member of the South Kentucky Blacksmithing Association (SKBA). I have worked very hard with .the Sons of the Confederate Veterans. The main objective of this group is to set war memorials, tombstones that recognize the soldiers that fought for the Confederacy. I marched in the Hunley funeral procession, the submarine that sunk during the civil war and sunk many a ship itself. There were two thousand and four people there and many dressed in Confederate uniforms that were marching. They were burying the remains of the five soldiers that were still in the submarine. This took place in April of 2004.

I got into the SCA for one reason and one alone. I got to beat people with sticks. That was stress relief for me. It was a lot of fun. I saw them fight the first time and I thought I was going to bite a stick in two or something. My character is a 400 to 425 CE Viking. This is a character that goes back to a very early time. I love genealogical research and writing about religious history and cultures.

I am a native of Southern California. From a young age, I was always eager to learn everything and filled with a thirst for knowledge about the known as well as the unknown. As an empath, I’ve always been highly sensitive to feelings, emotions, and moods, whether it’s tuning into people around me or at times tuning into things unseen and unexplained, or paranormal if you will. All of the women in my family are sensitive to things paranormal, for lack of a better term, and I guess I was no exception.

In most ways, I could be the poster child for my birth sign Capricorn. A serious, logical thinker, analytical, success driven, loyal, and at more times than I can remember, accused of being too intense, all probable reasons for my career being in the field of law. At the same time I am open minded, down to earth, and fair, not to mention inheriting more than my fair share of the smart-ass trait in my family. I’m usually the one everyone comes to for advice on just about everything. I enjoy entertaining people with sarcastic humor as well as sharing knowledge on things I find interesting in the hopes that those reading it will find it interesting too.

I was born on August 18, 1957 (For those of you that don't know I'm 50 now) and on that day a dark shadowy figure appeared in the room and I was reborn again! My family comes from a long line of true witches. Due to where I live I am sometimes called the spawn of Satan, sister of the Antichrist, and the Antichrist. They say that like it's a bad thing!!! Some say I have a strange, creepy, and even morbid personality (*wicked smile*). It is easy to talk with me but hard to get to know me, and even harder to earn my trust. I am sometimes elusive and often speak and write in rhyme to elude those who seek recognition or to warn those of coming events. I have raised 3 children and have 11 grandchildren, all of whom receive my unconditional love. I love to party and make the most out of a situation no matter what it is. I write stories, horror and erotica and I also write songs, poetry and on rare occasions draw. On the net, I am known as the internet psychiatrist and adviser. I tell things the way I see them. I speak my mind. If I think you look funny in something I'll tell you because I believe in freedom to be yourself. I believe in live and let live. I don't care what others think about me and I don't believe you need to lie to make friends. I love all animals and creatures; it's the humans I have trouble with. I don't possess the same kind of human emotions as everyone else. I understand animal talk and take in stray animals. I can tame wild animals. I have 12 dogs, one cat, a goat, and a crow that comes to visit. My favorite season is fall and my favorite holiday is Halloween. I enjoy haunted places. I love “Scooby Doo” movies and comedy. My favorite colors are black and red and I love dark and dreary places. Thunderstorms are the greatest and I have been zapped by lightning twice (oh what a rush!) I have seen paranormal things that others only see from TV or reading a book. I am a high official and outstanding member of a private organization. I can sound cold, distant, and uncaring in posts but that's not the case at all. I only wish people would see that which isn't written as well as they think they see that which is.

I grew up in South Texas. I lived there until I was 23 and then moved to Southern California and I have been there ever since. I’m into conservation and I’m a zoological member. Another hobby is photography. I love to take pictures of the animals. I also love taking pictures of tombstones. Presently I have two dogs living with me, Angel and Shadow. My two babies are very, very dear to me. They are both black toy poodles. Angel is a 3lbs and Shadow is ten. They go with me everywhere. They are apart of my life and I encourage anyone who feels lonely to pick out a pet, doesn’t matter what type, just get a pet. It will help you with your loneliness. I have many interests ranging for ballet dancer to Mistress. I am Pagan and enjoy gathering with other like minded Pagans in my area. I am a very complex and logical thinker. I am well educated and have a job in the field of education. "The future is so bright I have to wear shades."

Lady Adriana was born and raised in the Deep South backwoods of Louisiana, where she lives once again. She, being one of the ones that grew up in a society not so accepting of someone being different, does her best not let others go through the same by counseling, teaching, and writing articles to help. The world back then was much different; unlike it is to a certain extent today. In those days growing up meant you had to keep quit about things like ESP, Astral Travel, Magick, etc. Back then the old Rule of “Silence is Golden” had a totally new meaning, especially for anything that was remotely connected to Vampyrism, Shapeshifting, or the like. You were on your own having to learn the hard way from the “School of Hard Knocks”.

She is to this day still a well known member of the New Orleans Magickal Communities, but was uprooted from the city in 2005, thanks to the storm and the aftermath that occurred. She is a Former New Orleans Safe Haven Mom, Street Mom, Square Guardian, and Jackson Square Tarot Reader. She is a Member/Elder in the U.S. Chapter of the Vampire Nation High Council, Ordained ULC Minister, the Founder/ Priestess of the Temple of Lost Souls (TLS), Founder/Elder of House Saint Germain (HSG-Vampyre/Kin division of TLS), Founder of the Original Vampyres.org Project, and Founder of The Guardian Network.

I was born in a small town in Southeastern Kentucky and am still living there. While in High School I was involved in a lot of activities. To name a few, I was Assistant Secretary of State for the Co-Ed-Y in Kentucky. I lettered in Tennis and was a Home Coming Queen candidate and President of many clubs. I was also in “Whose Who of American High School Students”.

I graduated from George Town College with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a minor in English. I was a member of Sigma Tau Delta an international English honorary Fraternity. I was a member of student government. I held a statewide position of Lieutenant Governor in the Kentucky Intercollegiate State Legislature. I was also a Lambda Chi Alpha-Crescent, which was a fraternal organization. A Crescent is the little sister organization and one is picked for this honor. Also, I am a member of Lion’s International.

I have two degrees from the Kentucky Banking Association and also have a certificate from the American Banker’s Association. honored. I was honored to be listed in “Biltmore’s Whose Who Among Executives and Professional Women” recently. I am ordained with Doctorates of Divinity, from both the Temple of Wicca and the Universal Life Church.

I write poetry for this is my battleground of sanity and the only outlet that I feel comfortable in to express the nightmare of what was my childhood and the torment of my inner-self.
