Husky Herbst Dogsled Racing

Husky Herbst Dogsled Racing is located in Ketchum, Idaho. Trent Herbst and family started racing 4 years ago with a dream of finishing the Iditarod. He quit his teaching job in Switzerland to devote 3 winters to learning the lost art of mushing. Dr. Richard MacAuley of West Branch, Michigan mentored his first years and sponsored Trent when he completed his first Iditarod in 2006 for Thunder Ridge Kennel. Trent soon returned to the classroom and is now teaching 4th grade at the Community School in Sun Valley, Idaho. A huge thank you to everyone in the Wood River Valley for all the help and support in finishing Iditarod 2008! We are currently making plans for Iditarod 2009. We hope to keep this thing updated more frequently this year as my students have taken on the role as "website operators". A huge thanks to all my students in this year's 4th grade who really made this year's race happen. We certainly enjoyed reading the letters from students across the country and we hope you all received a reply. If not, please contact me via email and my class and I will get back to you this summer!
