Workshop information.
Birthday party (B.P): 1.5hours unless otherwise requested.
3 hour workshops can be organised daytime or evening.
6 hour workshops are referred to as 1 day.
All workshop times allow for tea and/or lunch breaks with the exception of 1.5hour sessions.
Watercolour & pastel fun! with Dorothea Conti.
Workshops lengths: *1.5hrs B.P 3hrs & 6hrs.
Age: Adults and children (7 yrs+)
Facilities needed: Table and seating.
Your chance to try a mixture of painting and drawing techniques. Learn the art of various watercolour techniques, pastel and wax resist as well as an introduction to art styles.
1.5hrs: Get together with your friends to create a huge painting done by all of you! Choose wildlife, the seashore, pirates, jungle or the birthday boy's or girl's idea. Fantastic to put up on your wall or for a special keepsake.
3hrs: Draw and paint a still life - e.g; fruit, flowers etc. You will be taught how to colour blend and present your finished art work.
6hrs: Choose from 4 workshops below:
Watercolour: Choose a garden view or work from photos to make a basic composition using washes and colour mixing to produce up to 2 pictures.
Pastel. As above but this time you will be shown the techniques of wax and oil pastels.
Abstract: You will be looking at and discussing different types of abstract and patterns. Working on wet in wet, you will learn the techniques of working with colours and learning basic printing with small objects.
Pen & wash: Learn the very satisfying technique of pen and wash and how to use bleach and other inks.
Material costs: Approximately £1 to £5 p.p. All tools are provided free of charge.
Silk painting with Nancy Eyles.
Workshop lengths: *1.5hrs B.P. 3hrs & 6hrs.
Age: Adults and children (7yrs+).
Facilities needed: Table, seating, access to water.
1.5hrs: Work on a piece of silk stretched over a wooden frame ready to hang on the wall of give as a present. Designs supplied.
3 hrs: As above but on this longer course, you will be working on a frame approximately A3 size, be able to look at examples and choose from a selection of designs.
6 hrs: This time you will have more opportunities to explore your own ideas and create a design rather than working from prepared designs.
Material costs: £2 to £7 p.p. All tools are provided free of charge.
Fabric Printing with Nancy Eyles.
Workshop lengths: 6 hrs.
Age:Adults and children (11yrs+)
Facilities needed: Large table.
6 hrs: Working on a fabric (thick cotton) of heavy cartridge paper approximately A1 size, you will be able to design and produce a repeated print of at least 3 colours. The fabric can be ironed on the reverse to fix the image. Great fun and looks fantastic!
Material cost: £2 to £5 per person. All tools are provided free of charge.
