Welcome to Tranquility Acres. My name is Laurie and I am the Webmaster of this site. If you would like to contact me, you may do so from my contact page, or use the links at the bottom of this page. Please read my Rules of Conduct page for information on what I do and do not allow while you are visiting my site. (This is the only page that I hated having to make!)

I have an addiction to webcompetitions. What can I say, I like surfing the internet and visiting other peoples pages. There is no better way to do that than to belong to one (or two, or twelve) web comps. As long as it is all done in fun, what's the harm!?! (Anyways, I do not expect anyone to vote for me unless they want to and feel that my site deserves their vote.) Web comps are also a way for me to "meet" interesting people. People are probably never would have come in contact with if I hadn't joined. I have made numerous "online" friends, and I am glad to have them as a part of my life. Below are the web comps I am currently active in.

A little about the contents on this site:
This site is a family-friendly and kid-safe site. It was originally set-up as a way for me to keep my family and friends updated on what was going on in my life. It has seen many "homes" with free servers, and under many different names. I only plan on making one more move, a move to its own domain name. This will be in the future though, as I am in the process of researching for the best options for me. You can keep track of that progress by checking out my updates page.

My favorite past-time is genealogy and through this I have met many new family members and made new friends. So not only is this a place for me to keep in touch with loved ones, it's a place for me to gather with new-found cousins and friends.
This site also allows for me to go to "get away from it all." I can come here and relax (hence the name Tranquility Acres). I can "socialize" with others who may be just as stressed out at that moment as I am. I can get that new insight into things and come back to the "real" world a refreshed human being. These pages are a reflexion of the mood I'm in at the time I make them.

Let's take a moment to remember those who lost their life on 11 September 2001.
