The Trail of Dreams ride, May 17 and 18, 2008. A wagon and horseback ride for children suffering from chronic catastrophic illnesses. Each year we treat the children and their families to two days of horseback riding, wagon rides, camping out and fireside entertainment. Friendships that are made here are for a lifetime!

This two day ride will be held May 17th and 18th, 2008. We begin on Saturday morning and travel approximately twenty miles Saturday and Sunday through some of the most remote areas of our county, most of which show no sign of civilization. Saturday night we have a campfire supper, entertainment and camp out in tents and under the stars. At the end of the ride on Sunday afternoon the Taloga community hosts a "Pot Luck" dinner for everyone.
Unaffected siblings are welcome as this is a family affair. Because of the relatively primitive territory, handicapped facilities are limited, but every attempt will be made to help families accomodate as many situations as possible. Please call the sponsors about specific needs. The family is responsible for providing necessary care on the ride, but a physician and other medical personnel will be along to assist with emergencies.
There is no charge, all food and services are donated by the Sheriff's staff and Dewey County communities. The deadline for registration is May 5th, 2008. For reservations or information, contact Sheriff Carl Freeman or Office Deputy Judy Junkins at 580-328-5558.
