Launched on November 5, 2007 , this site is dedicated to... TRADITIONAL CHINESE SHAR-PEI This is intended to offer an international platform or virtual HQ for all traditional Shar-pei supporters around the world hoping to gather as many supports as we can in one goal: for the preservation of this wonderful original breed. This site is born with the intention to help people around the world to know better on the true history of Chinese Shar-pei, to understand more about a true Chinese Shar-pei. American type of the breed, also called the ˇ§meat mouthˇ¨ is a modern dog developed actively in the U.S. with coordinated effort by early breeders also in Hong Kong and Taiwan since the 1970ˇ¦s. Although it also partly started off from a traditional stock, it has evolved into a totally different type and consequently not the rare breed as it originally declared to be. On the other hand, the true and original type TRADITIONAL SHAR-PEI which goes back to centuries has remained elusive in the background and still an endangered and rare breed! In our forum we welcome your questions, opinions, suggestions, and discussions about the TRADITIONAL SHAR-PEI. We hope to make this site also a linking place for all the TRADITIONAL SHAR-PEI websites and hopefully to provide you with many useful information, new and old pictures, all very crucial for truly understanding this wonderful breed and its history.
