7th Grade Track 2 Stingrays

Dear Parents,

 EOG results are coming home today, Friday, June 12, 2009. Detailed reports will come home with the students' report cards the last day of school. If a student was a Level I, signed letters must be returned on Monday for re-testing to take place. All Level II students will automatically be retested.

EOG's are June 8, 9, 10. Our students are prepared and excited to take the tests!

Track 2 Awards Ceremony will be June 25th at 9:00. We hope you can attend.

Field Trip forms are due by Monday, May 11th. Cost is $10.

Elective Choice forms are due by Friday, May 8th. Get it in early to get the elective you want for 8th grade.

Parents are needed to help proctor for the EOG Tests. If you can volunteer your time, please fill out and return the volunteer form. Many parents are needed, DRMS could use your help.

Interims go home this Friday, April 24th!

Field Trip forms and money are due this Friday, April 3rd. Field Trip is Friday, April 17th. We are going to IMAX and Triangle Town Center Food Court for Lunch.

Report Cards go home this Friday, March 27th. Have your report card cover letters in by Friday, April 3rd.

If your student received a reassignment letter, please have it signed and returned by this Friday, the 13th.  

Spring Pictures have been sent home. If you are going to purchase the pictures, please have the money in by Friday, March 13th. If not, the pictures need to be returned ASAP.

Valentine's Day Dance is this Friday, the 13th. Tickets are $4 and will be sold during lunch this week, starting Tuesday.

Interims and student led conference times went home today, January 30th. Cover letters must be returned by next Friday.

Make a Valentine to erase your library fines!

Valentine should include your name and a short message. See a media center specialist for more details.

 School this Saturday starts at the regular school day start time.

The writing tests for 7th grade are now finalized. This first on-demand prompt the entire county will write about will be on January 13th for DRMS students.

Report Cards go home this Friday.

Our next Student Led Conferences will be on February 5th for those who need to plan ahead. Details will come after the holiday break.

Welcome Back!

Winter Wonderland Dance is this Friday! 6-8:30 is the time. Tickets will be sold at lunch Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of this week. They are $4. Support your student council.

Report Cards will be going home on December 19th. Let's finish the quarter and semester on a good note!

Students will compete for a spot in the school geography bee on January 6th in Miss DeMarco's classes. Start studying and practicing now! Check Miss DeMarco's page for links to help practice.

There will be a 2-hour delay on Tuesday, November 4th. Please make sure to VOTE!

Honor Roll Party will be Wednesday, November 5th during lunch. Congratulations to our Honor Roll students!

There will be a Food Drive the week of  November 17th. The class with the most cans will get the Spirit Cup! The food will go to shelters in the area. Show your school spirit and participate in the Food Drive!

Track 2 will be out during the food drive, but the students voted to participate in the food drive next week to help out the community. Way to go Track 2!

It's Red Ribbon Week! Track 2 Stingrays say NO to drugs and alcohol! To show support wear your appropriate clothing on the designated day.

Durant Road Middle Schools is now collecting Box Tops for Education and Campbell's Soup Labels. Please start saving them for your child to turn in to their homeroom teacher. Homerooms that collect the most will win a prize! Please support our PTA in their fund-raising efforts for our students.

Interim Reports were sent home today. Please review these with your child and sign the interim cover letter, which will be returned to your child's homeroom teacher. Please continue to check SPAN for updates on your child's grades.

Picture retakes will be next Thursday, October 30th

 If you were not able to attend student led conferences, the scripts will be sent home with students on Thursday. Please conference with your student at home and send the paperwork back to school for them to give their homeroom teacher. Thanks for your support in keeping communication open between home and school!

Ms. Kwiatkowski won the Spirit Award for Spirit Week!!! The Spirit Cup Trophy will now be housed in Ms. K's room. Miss DeMarco's homeroom won the spirit poster contest for the week and has a nice dolphin award to keep in the room.

 There is a JDRF ( Juvenille Diabetes Research Foundation) walk on November 1st. It is on a Saturday. All the money that children earn goes toward the Diabetes Foundation. If you are going to participate please go to the Durant Road Middle School homepage, go to student activites, click on student council, and then sign up for the walk. If you do sign up, come on November 1st to Durant Road Middle School. We leave at 8:00 AM and will return around 1:30-2:00. We need all the money we can get to find a cure for Juvenille Diabetes.

 Students can now donate $5 for a copy of the Spirit Week Slideshow DVD to help benefit the Leukemia Foundation.
