Danny woke up feeling chipper that Saturday morning. Today was the day he was finally going to ask Kristin to marry him. He knew she had been waiting for so many years and for the life of him he couldn't figure out why she never did ask her. Yes he loved her, and she was a great woman. It was a shame it to a fiasco like Brandi to make him see just how important and special Kristin was to him. He finished making his bed and went over his mental list of everything, making sure everthing would be perfect for tonight.

Danny icked Kristin up around 12 for the normal date every Saturday. But after the movie they went clothes shopping insead. "Uh..why are we here *rasing an eyeborw* You never like to go shopping so whats up with the sudden change of heart?" Kirstin asked looking over so silk blouses. "Nothing I just wanted to do something you like doing for a change. Today its all about YOU!" Danny said pointing both his index fingers at her like a toy gun, causing her to laugh. "Your silly do you know that? Ok but I don't want to shop today let do something else."

"Ok fine..but don't say when we're like 80 how I never offered to d anything you like. *turning to walk away* Wait Bab, try this one." Danny held up this itsy witsy tiny bikni thong thing. Snatching it out of his hands Kristin's face began to go red "I'm not puting that thing on. It looks like dental floss not sleep wear." She started to put it back but got  a change of heart "This would look pretty good on me wouldn't it. *turning to Danny with a devilous smile* Why don't ou follow me."

Danny quickly followed Kristin into teh dressign booth,followed by a heavy make out session. Kristin never did get to try on the outfit. "Ok I'm famished I want something to drink. Let run across teh street to Starbucks." Kristin said grabbing Danny by the hand before he could protest. "Starbucks" he sighed rolling his eyes. "Why nust you drag me in there with all those weird people sippin coffee thinking they are so cool." "Shut up and just come one, quite acting like a baby all the time BABY."

"See it isn't so bad, is it?" Um hum *taking sip of coffee* It is, and look at all these WEIRD people." Danny said making a funny nose and wiggling his finger in Kristin's face. "So your going to make me spill my drink, and they are not weird. Look at him *pointing to the man in black* Does he look weird?" Danny turns to look, laughing "No, he's probably here to pick up girls. Figured its the best place next to the mall since all the men here are gaya nd will give you all compliments on your hair, clothes, voice..." "Oh my God, shut up you'r so stupid. *laughing* And thats not true all the time *still laughing* Not all guy men who work here give out complements."

After the coffee the headed over to the strip district to get some food. The spighetti warehouse was the spot of choice since they serve some of the best pasta in town. "Oh no house of Change, I'm kida sad but still happy. But whats up with all the nice places today and doing what I want to do? Are you feeling ok?? Kristin started to reach over to feel Danny's head. Danny stopped her hand and clasped it between his "No, nothings wrong and I'm NOT acting strange. I just wanted you to see just how much you mean to me. And if that means having to do things that you like but I don't at times, then so be it." Kristin looked at him with shock, "Ok, were did the aliens put my Danny, bring the body back." She said laughing. "No but for real I like you like this. To bad its taken 5 years." "Yeah well men are slow in that arena." "Yeah, you got that right."

After dinner Danny decide it was now or never. His plams begain to get sweaty and Kristin started to get up from her set. "I'll be right back I gott to use the bathroom." Kristin said turning to walk away. "Wait...there's...a...something that I want to ask you before you go." Kristin walked over to Danny to see what it was.

"Well you know we have been toghther for a long time now. And we have beent hrough our ups and downs good times and bad, and we always manage to come back to gether on common ground. Danny reached into his pocket and pulled out a little black velevet box with a pink bow on top. Kristin was taken back and felt a tiny lump in her throat "Oh my God!" Danny handding Kristin the box. "Kristin Angie Pong will you do me teh honor of becoming my wife?" Kristin was silent for what seemed like an enternity, she tryed to fight back teh tears, he had finally asked after all this time, it was what she trully wanted. "Yes...yes I'll marry you." ne lonly tear trickled down her face as she looked at the ring.

Kristin leaned over and kissed Danny, the waiter to a couple a table away started clapping and congratulating the newly engaged couple.

After dinner they decided to go clubing for a bit before ehadign back home. Kristin was so excited and she couldn't wait to tell Taffy, and she had already started planning the wedding. Danny was thrilled that Kristin would soon be his wife, but now all he could think about was why did he have to wear this smelly lay around his neck.

After dancing and some drikins Kristin was tired and had Dannyd rive her home. He was so excited that he couldn't turn in for the night and went over to see Tony. After eating and chating with Tony and his Mother-in-law. "Thats wonderful *noding head* It's great that you and Kristin are FINALLY gettign married. I  mean really *wavign hand in air* The way you two dated I thought you'd never pop the question. And as I always say...." Tony interupted "Mrs. Babs I think Danny gotta head home. He has school tomorrow." "Yeah *flashing Tony and thank u smile* I gotta ger running. Don't want to get caught if the snow picks up."  Tony walked Danny to the door as he put on his coat. "I'll call you later about everything. But know Kris there will be a wedding soon." The two laughed said their goodbyes, and Tony shut the door.

The next morning at the 5 am feeding of Aspen Taffy has had enough of her mother. "Mom...can I talk to you for a sec." Taffy said as her mother entered the nursery/guest room. "Yes sweetie what is it?" "Well you know. I really appreciate your help, and you being here with us while we got used to Aspen. But don't you have more inportant things to handle at your place?" Taffy was searching for the words that would hint to her mother it's time to leave. "Oh honey, no. I dropped everything so I could be here with you." "Oh. But you know mom it's been two months. It's almost the end of December and we're pretty used to Aspen *laughing* And we would really really like our privacy back." Sandy folded her amrs across her chest taking on her defensive stance. "Well...so....I see. *feeling hurt* My own daughter. My ONLY daughter throwing her poor LONLY mother out on the streets. I never though I'd see the day. I mean God, I carried you for nine months, bore you in pain, nurtured and cared for you. And this is how you repay me. MY GOD child, are you mad?!" Taffy wanted to scream at the top of her lungs, but she held her temper. "Mom I'm not throwing you out, God. You have your own house on the other side of town. I'm not ungreatful for all that you have done. But I'm a grown woman and I am married. We...Tony and I need our space. We loved that you helped us, and you know that you are welcome here any time. It's just we need out space." "Ok...I see you...and hear you loud and clear. I will be glad to go tomorrow." "Ok. *smiling a little* I'm happy you understand. Aspen is sleep so I'm going to lay back down talk to you later." Taffy kissed her mother on the cheek and headed out the room. Sandy was sadden that her daughter no longer wanted her, no NEEDED her around. She was right though, she was an adult now and she had to stop treating her as if she was 10 years old again. Sighing she looked at her littel "angel" sleeping in the crib then laid back down.

A little while after their talk Sandy came bursting into the master bed room. "You Do know I'l be back this....." "MOTHER!!!" Taffy yelled as the couple reached for the the bed sheet for covering. "Oh..OH...oh my God I am so very sorry." Sandy turned and wisked out the room letting out a sigh of relief that the embarrassing scene was over once the door closed. Taffy rolled over and laid down, Tony looked over at her, and the two burst into laughter.                                                      NEXT
