Welcome to Torquay Athletic RFC Junior section

Torquay the home of the tics has a strong junior section of around 300 players and 50 strong coaches and support staff. This together has produced one the Devon’s leading junior clubs and has even produced players to represent on the international stage. We hold regular training for all junior players as well as arranging games against local sides including Paignton, Brixham & Newton Abbot. Many of our players progress through the ranks until eventually reaching the glorious senior 1st XV.

RFU Discipline Notice

The RFU have recently issued the below notice in regards of the behaviour of parents, spectators and coaches at youth fixtures. Therefore have published some posters and documents in which are to be used by clubs. Please find the posters etc in the downloads section.

 

For some time the RFU have been concerned at increasing levels of misbehaviour by spectators and parents whilst watching rugby played at the under 18 level.   As a result and at the request of Clubs we have produced two posters and a code of conduct card which I hope will assist Clubs when dealing with this issue.

 

*       Discipline poster showing recommended sanctions for members of clubs involved in offences at matches at U18 level and below.   This was produced under the guidance of the RFU Disciplinary Officer and should be read in conjunction with the RFU Disciplinary Regulations, Appendix 4 which lays out the procedure to be used at hearings.

 

*       Spectator and Parent Code of Conduct poster.    This is an A2 poster which is the same as the card but produced for Club Notice Boards.

 

Spectator and Parent Code of Conduct cards Pocket size – red/green for use at matches and for issue to spectators/parents .  Provides guidance on best/worse practice.
Training & Games

Training for the junior section is held on a wednesday night between 6pm and 8pm with age groups from Under 7s to Under 12 training between 6 and 7 and age groups from U13s to U16s training from 7 onwards. All training is held on the Recreation ground and for more information please contact the relevant coach.

Games are held on a sunday morning and details regarding these need to be from the coaches as will vary.
