On December 19th, 2009 the TTC held a ceremony to open the portion of the St. Clair Right-of -Way (ROW) between St. Clair W. station and Earlscourt Loop (St. Clair and Lansdowne.)  The TTC brought out both of its remaining PCC streetcars, #4500 and #4549, to provide free rides between St. Clair W. and Earlscourt.  The car, the first cars along the section in over two years, operated between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.  Onboard #4500 was historian Mike Filey who provided a history of the area, the route (#512 St. Clair), and the streetcars.  Onboard #4549 was the Hillcrest Choir to announce the stops along the way.

Unfortunately, at the end of the day #4549 would end up having braking issues and had to wait for #4500 and a service truck to be taken back to Hillcrest for the evening.
