This page is dedicated to the TTC's Canadian Light Rail Vehicle (CLRV) streetcars numbered #4000-#4005 and #4010-#4199. These cars were built between 1977 and 1981 and are classed as L-1 (#4000-#4005) and L-2 (#4010-#4199.) Car numbers in L-1's and the first 141 L-2 class streetcars are secondhand, as they were originally designated for the former PCC class A-1, and the remaining 49 L-2 cars are using car numbers originally designated for the former PCC class A-2. These cars are 50 feet 8 inches long. The CLRV seats 46 people with the exceptions of a group that four double seats replaced with single seat for more standing room. The cars with 42 seats are: #4015, #4020, #4064, #4079, #4083, #4089, #4133, #4145, #4160, and #4176.
In 1995, CLRV
#4089 had air conditioning installed (along with ALRV #4238) to test how air conditioning would perform in these cars. Unfortunately, the
test ended after one year, and the air conditioning system was removed. However, more recently, #4041 has received a new A/C unit.
The CLRV was orignally designed for the TTC to replace its fleet of PCC cars.
CLRV #4017 rests at Long Branch Loop on May 19th, 2016 prior to a 501 Queen run to Humber Loop. Since early January, 2016 the 501 Queen has been split into two sections at Humber Loop.

CLRV #4036 is westbound on Lake Shore Blvd. W. at 30th Street in Long Branch while operating on the 501 Queen.
CLRV #4058 on an eastbound 505 Dundas run. The car has just departed Dundas West subway station.
CLRV #4082 is westbound on Lake Shore Blvd. W. on a split 501 Queen run between Long Branch Loop and Humber Loop.
Starting January 3rd, 2016, the TTC split the 501 Queen into two routes: Long Branch Loop to Humber Loop and Humber Loop to Neville Park in order to try and improve the service along the route.
CLRV #4100 is heading westbound on Lake Shore Blvd. W. as it approaches Long Branch Loop on May 22nd, 2016. The car is operating on the 501 Queen during the split in service due to the slow progress in receiving the new Flexity Outlook streetcars. Thus the streetcar is only running between Humber Loop and Long Branch Loop.
CLRV #4152 is westbound on Lake Shore Blvd. W. at 8th Street while operating on the 501 Queen on March 5th, 2016.
Starting January 3rd, 2016, the TTC split the 501 service at Humber Loop, with one section operating between Long Branch Loop and Humber Loop (the old 507 Long Branch car), and another operating between Humber Loop and Neville Park.

CLRV #4189 is westbound on Lake Shore Blvd. W. at Brown's Line on May 22nd, 2016. #4189 is just completing a westbound 501 Queen run, and is about to enter Long Branch Loop.
