Views from other players and corespondents:  Rusedski: "
I've been pleasantly surprised with Jamie Baker the way he's been part of the team, practised very hard and is very professional."

Neil Harman [Times]: "
If there is a more committed, determined player in the country than this 19-year-old from Glasgow, he has not come to my attention."

The LTA opinion:
The teenager from Glasgow is another major force in the new wave of Scottish talent that is threatening to dominate British tennis.

Like his compatriot Andy Murray, Baker spent time honing his clay-court game in Barcelona, then based himself at Nottingham under the coaching guidance of Martin Weston and recently spent three weeks training at the new Scottish National Centre at Stirling.

But most of the teenager’s time is spent on the road as he dedicates his time to making the tennis grade. Formerly ranked the world’s sixth best junior after winning the Grade 1 event in Venezuela and also reached semi-finals at the prestigious Astrid Bowl in Charleroi, Belgium and Triangle D’or in Beaulieu, France.
