Beware of Church Heresy
Beware of Church Heresy.
Do you know church heresy when you see it? Do you know what you are dealing with when you study God's word?
Hi! My name is Daniel. Ever since I was young, people taught me that God no longer speaks to people. I later learned that it is, in part, because of the Protestant Confessions, including the Baptist Confession, which say the former ways of God revealing His will to His people is now ceased. I was also told not add to Gods word.
That means then that we should not be saying something the Scriptures do not say... keeping in mind that Moses is the first person to have said not to add to Gods word and every prophet, Apostle and writer of Scripture since Moses has written down what God told them to write...after Moses said not to add to the word of God. The same thing is repeated in Proverbs where it says, again, not to add to God's word. So according to that text, it is not just the commandments of Moses but it is God's word that we cannot add to.
The issue is a matter of the origin of the things that we say. Jesus said the one that speaks of his own initiative seeks his own glory. Jesus said many times that He did not speak of His own initiative. We are told in Scripture to let everything that we say be as it were the oracles of God so that God is glorified in everything that we say and do. That is what Scripture tells us outright, ...that we should say only what God says (not speaking of our own initiative) so that only God is glorified.
We cannot say anything that is not Gods word without glorifying someone other than God. That means that every statement, creed or Confession which is admittedly not Gods word does in fact glorify the intellect of the writers of those Confessions instead of glorifying God. It holds to a lesser standard...and to realize those State sponsored Confessions actually say that the former ways of God revealing His will to His people has now ceased. It is morbid and it is something the Bible never said.
That statement of the Confessions means that Christ is no longer the head of His Church (if He no longer reveals His will to His people). It also means that a man has now taken Gods place in the Temple of His body in the supposed absence of the word of the Lord. Consider what kind of teaching that is... It is a teaching that has no faith in God nor of His authority to lead in His body of believers today.
I would like to know why it is that I have not heard anyone even address this blasphemy of a man speaking of his own initiative in Gods place...this satanic mark of the beast unscriptural heresy teaching of a man taking Gods place in the Temple of the body of Christ. No one seems to have anything to say about it because there is nothing that can be said. It is simply a heresy of the very worst kind because it has been so deceptive convincing so many people a man can or should take God's place as Lord.
If anything at all is said, it must be God's word. Let it be known that God does indeed reveal His will to His people the way He has done throughout history (His sheep hear His voice). Of course there is no support at all in Scripture for having any change in the teaching of Scripture (even an angel from heaven cannot change what God says). God's truth endures to all generations.
People sometimes use Scripture taken way out context saying that prophecy will be done away with. There is no indication anywhere in Scripture of when such a thing would happen, other than the end of time, especially when Paul says that we should seek most to prophesy in the very next chapter. Prophecy will be done away with only when there is no longer a need for language, when we know the Lord as He knows us. Until then, we are told to seek most to prophesy. There was never a retraction of that instruction. So without a retraction, it would have to be "done away with" only at the end of time when this most practical application of love (prophecy) is no longer needed. If any "part" of prophecy is done away with in this life, there is no whole part for anyone of any time. No part of the prophecy of Scripture can be done away with. Neither is the practice of prophecy done away with anywhere in Scripture.
The last that we heard from in the Bible, there was still vision and prophecy going on. John even went as far as to say the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy. So as long as there is the testimony of Jesus, there is prophecy. That is an indication that prophecy will never be done away with before the end of time. We have to be honest.
The only other thing I have heard someone say is that God has spoken to us through His Son. "His Son" is the One that said He would send us "another Comforter". Since when does the Holy Spirit or the word of the Lord stop coming to us? Since when does the Holy Spirit stop convicting people? There were New Testament prophets and prophetesses that were not even Apostles. That means the promise that Jesus gave of another Comforter and of guiding us into all truth was not just for Apostles.
There are prophets all the way up to the end of time and the two witnesses spoken of in John's Revelation is proof of that. There is no basis for a change in the teaching of Scripture and no author of Scripture said anything anywhere about a change in teaching. There is absolutely no change at all in the teaching and practice that is found in Scripture.
The point is that all the work done in us (today) must be as a direct result of what God does Himself so that God gets all the credit. Understand this. Nothing that we say or do can be of our own initiative and all the glory must be of God... if we want to be truthful. We, who are believers in the absolute authority Messiah has over His body, have no choice but to speak only Gods word at all times.
Scripture is all we need only if we believe what it says because Scripture itself says Scripture is not a matter of our own interpretation. So even while reading Scripture, we rely on God Himself to teach us.
In Isaiah, God says, "...walk in the light of your fire and among the brands you have set ablaze; this you will have from my hand, you will lie down in torment."
So whoever does not speak God's word all the time, speaks of his own initiative and glorifies himself... in God's place the same as the false prophet and the beast does in the Temple just like John said would happen.
It is a very deceptive church heresy that has deceived millions of people. I would be wrong if I didnt speak up or if I didn't say anything to anyone. Everyone who learns of this heresy of a clay man speaking from the earth and from his earthly self in God's Temple, the body of Christ and doesn't say anything against it is not doing the right thing.
This heresy, BTW, is the result of not loving God, not loving God's word and not loving the people that God made. 1Corinthians 12,13 and 14 speak of prophesying, love and prophesying, in that order.
If you don't truly love people and don't speak out God's word, someone else will.
So..."Today, if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts".
Take care and pass it on.
